Lore: The ravages of summer
An'thinal flinched her hands back slightly as the woman got closer to her violin. She watched her warily as she answered her question.
"I just... play," An'thinal answered, wondering if it would be a bright idea to tell this half drow everything about herself. Trying to change the subject off her violin, An'thinal question the woman for her name. "I don't believe I caught your name yet?" she asked politely.

An'thinal shook her head. "So far I believe you and I are really the only ones who know magic in any form here." Her voice was soft spoken and she looked back out to the see. The people looked small from where they stood.
"That was a infity trick," An'thinal praised. "I often times do the same thing to get what I need." She was trying to get this Elanda to talk more before she did. An'thinal wanted to have a comfortable conversation, knowing that she didn't have to worry about her own abilities being revealed to the people of this town.

Vairah gave a single brisk nod. Ordinarily she would be edgy around someone who practiced any form of mind control or domination, but since An'thinal had acknowledged it so readily, she saw little immediate threat. "Inside, where? If you don't have a place, I should be able to..." She paused, trying to phrase it delicately. "Make arrangements. Given a minute or two."
"Actually I have a place just down the road here." She said sweetly. She walked down the alley to the open road. "It's not very big, I hope you don't mind." In fact, as they turned left down the road hre house was the average size. Two stories with an expanse garden of varying flowers and plants. Going up the walkway was like going through a small jungle forest.
Vairah slowed her pace considerably on the approach through the gardens. Though she'd been on the surface for quite some time, she was still more accustomed to the sight of fungi than of genuine photosynthetic flora. She stopped to study one plant's waxy blue-green leaves. "Curious... It seems to be secreting some sort of chemical..." She contemplated grabbing a sprig and studying it later, but decided against it for the moment.
"This is fairly impressive," she told An'thinal, though her tone suggested that she was more than fairly impressed.

AN'thinal smiled and nodded to her. "I enjoy plants. I think it's ashame that so many of them are starting to dissapear." she remarked then opened the door to her house. The first room was a well sized common room with a stone hearth. It was a cozy feeling room with many cushioned chairs and a decorative rug. The next room was the kitchen, and after that a bathing room and a bedroom. all the rooms had cozy, warm feels to them.
There were a set of stairs to the side of the door that led upstairs. Beyond up there, were rooms filled with books and only books.

Vairah made vague noncommittal noises to An'thinal's comment on plants and stepped inside. She was becoming almost comfortable with this stranger, which was a thousand times bad. How long had she known her? Granted, she'd used a false name, and that was a degree of safety, but -
She was defensive. She took a rather insensible pride in that. She tried to always be on her guard.
But this place... It seemed like the person who inhabited it was a woman of learning. She glanced around, found the stairs, and at the top caught sight of what appeared to be a bookshelf. She could have swooned from sheer rapture. So many people she'd encountered were illiterate or otherwise stupid.
She turned to An'thinal. "So, plants and... It seems you've got a book collection?"
