Vlad watched Kyosuke with veiled interest as he struggled across the room toward his sword. He didn't find it likely that something would have happened to Shinobu inside the monastery. "You intend to save the day in that condition?" he asked detachedly, standing up and following the samurai for unclear reasons.
Kyosuke grinned weakly at Vlad. "Well hey, the great and might Vlad is with me is he not?" he asked. Even if the No Life King decided to ditch him, Kyosuke intended to continue searching.
He slowly walked out the door, using the walls to brace himself. He quickly regained the use of his legs after walking down a few hallways, the hours of laying in bed finally wearing off.

Vlad walked behind Kyosuke at a casual stroll. "Where exactly do you plan to search for your lost prin-...cess?" The vampire's voice had drifted off as he caught the faint but unmistakable scent of blood in the air. He looked in the direction of the stray scent with no particular emotion on his face. Seeing that Kyosuke was heading toward it, he continued to follow, anticipating that things might actually become somewhat interesting.

Vladimir came up beside Kyosuke and studied Shinobu's wounded body. He glanced around the area and saw signs of a struggle, but no footsteps leading away from the scene and no sign of who had been responsible for the woman's current state. There was a profuse amount of blood on the ground.
She's not going to make it, he kept the thought to himself as he bent to check her pulse, which was weak at best.
~~You feel no ties of loyalty whatsoever?~~ the priest's annoying voice echoed in his head. He owed these people nothing. He had no duty to anyone - just his imposed servitude to Queen Sinead. Still, he had nothing better to do.
"Stave off the wound," he said dully to Kyosuke, who looked like he was already struggling just to stand. "I'll find someone." He didn't feel like asking the pompous monks for any favors, but something about Kyosuke's concerned demeanor made ignoring Shinobu slightly more inconvenient than dealing with the holy brats.
He left Kyosuke before he could say a word and shot off down a side street back toward the clinic. When he reached it, however, no one was inside. He left the building again, irritated. He didn't know where to find the doctors, but that young female that had joined the group back in Lowight - she had said something about being a healer. So where would she be? Probably talking to her horse," he thought sarcastically. Then again...it wasn't entirely out of the question. He changed course and headed for the stables.
Just as he came into view of the barn, however, a sick feeling permeated his chest. A white ball of light enveloped him, and in an instant he disappeared from where he stood.

KAze was trying to calm down Kami has kept on his charade. The door to Kami's stable kicked open under the force of his hoofs after he started kicking it. The horse rushed forward, knocking down the frightened elf, and galloped past where Vlad had dissapeared and towards the palace of the monks.
"WAIT KAMI!" Kaze called after him and rushed towards him using some small wind magic to make her run faster.

Shinobu stared almost blankly through half closed eyes. She found this all to be ridicules. Kyosuke should be in bed resting and she shouldn't be hurt. Kyosuke was the one who needed the attention. But, no... here she laid bleeding on a cold floor. She vaguely registered the fact Kyosuke was applying pressure to her wounded chest... Mostly her mind was running in slow motion and her thoughts were jumbled with stupid things that shouldn't be there in a time like this.
She breathed. Paused. Breathed again. Then there was a longer pause. Then another breath. Maybe she could save her breaths of air by trying to hold it? That was a thought she had before cursing herself for even being that stupid.
She felt in a very strange mood for someone who was dying. Maybe it was because she had total confidence in the person hovering above her trying his best to keep her from bleeding anymore than she had already. Or maybe she had finally just snapped from all the stress and attacks upon her life. She went with the first one.
If only she could voice the many streams of insanity that was running through her head. She was sure that it would make him laugh. She liked it when he was happy. But, she was to tired and to short of breath to do anything like that. So she decided she could only help by trying to conserve her energy.

A monk stood pleasantly in the middle of the street, sweeping stray leaves off the path, when the sound of racing hooves made him raise his head in confusion. He blinked in fear as a tall horse bounded straight toward him, followed closely by one of the visitors he'd seen earlier. He dodged to the side and reached out for the horse's halter as it shied to a halt. "Whoah, there!" he said, momentarily breaking out of the hushed voice that was normally used inside the monastery. "What seems to be the problem? Oh, you're one of the travelers! How is your friend doing, the young man? I was treating him, but I stepped away for a bit to tend to my other duties... You really seem quite alarmed..." he observed worriedly, staring at Kaze.

When Vladimir regained his senses, he was first aware of a nauseating sensation permeating his body. He was standing up in what he quickly recognized as the center of the high priest's pulpit room, the vast marble floor stretching in a great circle around him. He glanced around in annoyance and quickly discovered his abductor standing regally near one of the pillars at the end of the room.
"I told you we'd speak again," the high priest said with a piously disapproving expression on his face.
"Well pardon my rudeness, but this really isn't a very good time," Vlad said, less sarcastically than he'd intended because of the nausea in his throat.
"On the contrary, I feel this is a very good time. I'm concerned for you, and your comrades as well. It seems you understand nothing of loyalty. You see your companions as mere objects of amusement."
Vlad stood up straight and looked the priest in the eye with a twisted smirk. "You intend to lecture me in the way of morals, "father"?" he said darkly. "Do please enlighten me; I would be ever so amused by your prattle." A dangerous aura of black magical energy had formed around the No-Life King.
"Oh, ready to use violence already? That's not surprising. I've heard about you. Rumors spread even among the monasteries, rumors of Sinead's pet abomination. What she sees in keeping you is beyond my comprehension, but to me you're nothing but a liability. You care nothing for those around you," the priest huffed, growing more and more irritated as Vladimir's grin only spread at his rantings.
"My, my. You seem to have quite a grudge. How would you suggest I placate you?" Vladimir smirked, walking purposefully toward the priest.
"You stay back!" the priest shouted sternly, though he was visibly alarmed by the vampire's approach.
"What's the matter, Priest? You summoned me here. Don't want to talk anymore?" Vlad said more aggressively, continuing toward him.
"No more jokes! Answer me properly. Why didn't you aid your comrades?" the priest demanded.
"My servants are responsible for themselves. If they can't take care of themselves, they're merely rocks tied to my feet. I have no obligation to interfere with their battles," Vlad said proudly. His eyes seemed to glow crimson in the dim lighting. He halted as he felt a pulse of sickening energy freeze his movement and restrain him in place.
The priest grinned smugly. "What's wrong, vampire? Can't move?"
Vladimir's smirk widened and his eyes seemed to blaze. "Such lack of respect. You underestimate me, priest," he said darkly, and in a sudden burst of motion he forced free of the holy spell and charged the robed man, the nails of his right hand transforming themselves into swordlike claws.
The priest's eyes widened in fear, but he rushed to compose another spell and thrust his hands defensively out toward the charging vampire. This time, Vlad's movement was not only halted, but reversed, hurling him across the room and tumbling across the floor. Vladimir struggled to his feet and eyed the priest. "That power isn't yours. You have servants," he observed, blood dripping from his mouth.
"That's right. I have a lot of servants. Only, I prefer to call them friends," the priest returned as a huge number of monks stepped out of the shadows from the edges of the room, shoulder to shoulder. Each of them had their hands folded in prayerful focus, easily a hundred or more in all.
The no-life king glared at the priest in irritation. The blast of energy he'd just received was beyond his ability to block. This situation began to seem dangerous. "Interesting! A challenge," he smiled maniacally, struggling against the invisible bindings that were holding him in place, but not budging.
"It's time for you to learn a few things, vampire," the priest said smugly, and a giant holy inscription lit up across the marble tiles of the room, centered beneath Vlad. "Oh great God, I request your blessing: purify this monster, so that he shall pose no further threat to your children!" he proclaimed before falling into a chant in unison with the others.
Vladimir shuddered as an unnatural pounding shook in his chest that would have thrown him backwards had he not been held in place. A moment later he was enveloped once more in white light and the deafening mass-murmur of monks' voices faded to silence. He found himself collapsed to his knees just beyond the base of the temple, consumed by dizzying nausea. He bit back the bile in his throat and rose shakily to his feet, fury burning in the back of his thoughts. "What the hell did that robed idiot just do to me?" he thought, trying to place why his body felt so wrong.

OOC: I think you mean Kaze.=P
Kaze caught up and was resting herself against the discouraged horse.
"He just...*huff* took off!" she said, gasping for air. She breathed in and out for a moment to catch her breath. "Kami seems disgruntled, I don't know why..." She walked up to the horse's head and stroked his face, looking into his eyes. "What's wrong Kami?"
Kami's eyes showed a fear that made his pupils dialate like a human's. Kaze looked confused and frowned at the horse. A glowing in her hand at the horses mane began to vibrate. She didn't understand.
"What manner of a being are you?" she whispered to the horse. Kami grunted and before Kaze or the monk could react he took off again, he dragged the monk a ways before he finally let go and Kaze ran after him again on her spelled feet.
OOC: I don't know if it'll be okay if they just walk in on what's happening to Vlad??

Shinobu shifted her head slowly, blinking her half closed eyes to clear them. It didn't seem like help was coming... She slowly slipped her hand up to Kyosuke's where he was holding her chest to try and stop the bleeding. She squeezed lightly, staring up at him. Help wasn't coming and she really didn't want Kyosuke to have to watch her die.
"It was the woman..." she said so softly that it could barely be heard. "She...." Shinobu closed her eyes for a moment to try and gather some strength. "She was... a dark... elf."

Kyosuke widened his eyes. "What woman?" he wondered. "But you say a dark elf did this to you?" he asked. He had heard the faint whispers that Shinobu had made. "What dark elf?" he asked. He had been in his berserker stage when Briena had joined with them so he didn't even know about a new person much less a dark elf. He also wondered where Vlad was, he should have gotten help by now.

Shinobu swallowed and took in a breath to try and finish what she was saying... at least before she died. The dark edges of eternal sleep were starting to crowed around the edges of her hazy vision. One good thought entered her mind. I will see him again.... I will see my husband...
But, then Shinobu looked at Kyosuke and memories of them sitting by the lake and she watching him train the men. She didn't want to leave him behind...
"It was the woman... the woman we met in the forest before the fight... She had disguised herself..." Shinobu coughed as a tear slid down her smooth pale cheek.
She wanted to see her husband again. But, then again she didn't want to leave Kyosuke. But, it wasn't like she had much of a choice. "I'm sorry..." She squeezed his hand tighter. "I'm sorry for being so stupid...."
