Carnthir led the Silinde through the treetops. The sun sinking in the distant sky behind them. Carnthir raised a hand, and the army halted in their tracks. The dark elves of Darkwood, rested underneath Ashgrown's canopy.
Evil times were at hand in the world. The Queens were at war, though not at yet at one anothers' necks.
The Silinde soldiers loosed a stream of arrows into the sea of the Mori Quessir. The dark elven army from the evil deeps of the Borders belly. They were raiding the Ashgrown Forest to find the city of Camthalion. Screams filled the air as the arrows hit their targets.
The archers drew back again as the enemy regrouped. Carnthir waved a hand and Mori Quessir were showered with arrows again. This time though they were more alert and a majority repelled the flying objects. The dark elves scanned the trees and area but it was too thick. The Silinde were a part of these woods and will only be seen when wanted.
Carnthir watched as his confused enemy searched for him to no avail.

Both sides didn't know it, but they hadn't seen Thomas, a young thief, walking withing the forest. It was dark, but Thomas hadn't lit a fire at the time, believing the forest to be too thick for it at the time. He had also heard that wood elves didn't like having fire in their woods, so he had refrained from it.
As Thomas sat, he heard cries of death echo through the forest. Instinctively, he reached for one of the four daggers in his belt, listening. This time, he heard many metallic rings, and rustles as people started moving through the brush, though it was very hard to hear.
Thomas moved swiftly and silently away, packing his gear and leaving no trace he was there. What was going on here?

Carnthir watched his enemy intently counting and scouting them as they passed by underneath. The Mori Quessir had brought only a small portion of their military.
The Silinde armed themselves again, waiting on the sign from their leader. Carnthir let the dark elves pass by so that they would have a good shot at their backs. The last of the small army moved passed, scanning the area with intent.
Carnthir's hand fell and the arrows bolted through the quiet air again, taking out another good portion of the troops.

Thomas scrambled up a tree silently and watched as dark elves passed right under him. He didn't dare breathe, and waited until the last one was right under him. Instantly, he dropped down, clasping his hand over the dark elf's mouth and slitting its throat. Then he dragged it behind the tree and continued on, going North.

Carnthir didn't expect his dark kindred to flee from the loss of troops though. They would surely die if they went back to Varna without a victor of some kind. The ruler Morath was ruthless and merciless.
Carnthir and his men wouldn't allow any to leave the forest anyway. The Mori Quessir were scattered and lost. The Silinde got the sign from Carnthir and dropped down in the midst of the dark elves. The forest was now dark and the animals had went into their homes. The Silinde slashed and killed the disgruntled Mori Quessir with ease. Carnthir chased down a few that tried to flee. He dodged an arrow and drew his sword. He stepped off the side of a tree and leaped into the air decapitating his enemy.
Two others were still on the run. He loosed two arrows and they fell to the ground with a thud.

Thomas continued walking, but was sighted by two dark elves. He ran up, dodging as they shot arrows. He managed to elude them, and as he caught his breath, he looked around. He then saw a wood elf, catching him just in time to see the elf put down two dark elves.
As he watched, a dark elf yelled, charging him with his sword raised. Thomas threw his blood stained dagger at the thing. It thudded into the dark elf's neck and if fell, gurgling and a pool of blood formed underneath the corpse. How did he get caught in the middle of this?

Carnthir turned to see the human kill the dark elf. He quickly vanished up into the treetops. He rushed back to his soldiers and ordered them back. They quickly retreated leaving a field of corpses on the forest floor. They luckily had only a few injured and hadn't suffered any fatalities.
Carnthir scanned the ground for the human as they swiftly made their way back to Camthalion. He saw him heading through the forest at a great speed. The wood elf hurried ahead of him and dropped down in front of the mysterious guest. "Halt," he said. He had an arrow pointed at the human, ready to be released at any attempt of attack.
"Who are you?" he asked demandingly.

Thomas had been running since he killed that dark elf back there. Then the same elf from before was in front of him, aiming an arrow at him. Thomas put his hands up in the air, "My name is Thomas. I was traveling through these woods when the dark elves came. I mean you no harm."

Carnthir didn't know Thomas' purpose and didn't know if he was telling the truth. He did see him kill the dark elf though and that was enough reason to spare his life for now.
"Fine," Carnthir replied as he lowered his bow. "I will take your word. I am Carnthir. Captain of the Silinde." He bowed slightly.

Thomas sighed with relief, bowing to Carnthir, "Nice to meet you, Carnthir...even though our first meeting consisted of you aiming an arrow at me. I don't blame you, with all those dark elves running about."

Carnthir studied the human curiously. Something gave him a strange feeling about Thomas, though he didn't since him as being evil.
"My apologies," He bowed again. "But this are dangerous times."

Thomas nodded, "I can tell. Well, I guess I should get going before anything else happens." He bowed to him again, "I hope we meet again at a different time." Then he started walking off.
)I don't think he can leave right now. If he can, I can change it.(

Carnthir wished it was easy enough to just let him go, but he couldn't take the risk. "I'm sorry but I can't let you leave my friend." Though Carnthir referred to Thomas as a friend, he didn't actually consider him one at the time.
The Silinde now perched in the treetops around the two. Their bows were armed and ready to fire at Thomas if he decided he wanted to run.

Thomas sighed, turning to face him, and knowing there were two bowmen aiming at him. "Carnthir, why can't I just leave. I have caused you no trouble, and actually helped you by killing a dark elf...Even though that was self-defense, so maybe not that."

Carnthir stared at Thomas still trying to read him but still couldn't and therefore he must take him to his parents.
"I can't allow that," He pulled a piece of cloth form his pocket, "I may trust you, but by our law I cannot let you go free at this time." He held out the blind fold. "And you must wear this." He covered Thomas' eyes.
