6) Power: Carries two heavy, broad shortswords, and knows how to use them. When the times call for him to be inconspicuous, he carries just a dagger at his belt. Knows a good deal about Arken military strategy and technology, as well as geography and terrain. Has a lot of acquaintances in a lot of different areas - well connected.

7) Appearance: Tall, 6'4'' with sand-colored hair pulled back low into a short ponytail. His bangs tend to fall out of the ponytail and hang over his face. He has a short-shaved beard on a ruddy face with a strong nose, but doens't look his full age. His eyes are blue and have a playful, charismatic effect. He is usually smiling. His clothes will match whatever his current assignment requires.

8) Weaknesses: Sid doesn't always know what he wants, and sometimes the result is that he gets nothing, and hurts people in the process. He often acts on impulse without considering the results of his actions. He hates vegetables. Um...a lot.

9) Biography: Sid grew up in a poor town south of Aerroes. Sid was recruited into the family shipping business as soon as he was strong enough to handle a carriage and lift the cargo. As a result, his youth was full of a great deal of freedom and adventure as he traveled from place to place and encountered many things. He also grew strong and learned quickly how to defend himself.

As soon as he had the means, he left home out of boredom. Thanks to his size and experience, he was hired at 16 to work at a shipyard near Aerroes. The job would have grown monotonous quickly had he not fallen in love with a nurse who worked there, to whom he soon became engaged. He promised to take her away someday to a place beyond Arken. Before that could happen, however, a serious disease passed through the shipyard and all suspected of infection were quarantined together to die. Sid's fiance was among them.

After Sid lost her, he went to the military, unable to bear the docks with all their memories of her. Military life was exacting and emotionless, and exactly what he wanted. Then -he- came along. A prodigy recruit named Rhen was placed in his squad - practically a kid, with no experience and no idea how cruel the world really was. Not only would the kid hesitate to carry out missions as ordered, but his work apparently ate away at his soul until desperation made him disobey orders and subsequently flee the military compound.

Feeling oddly changed by his interaction with the kid, Sid soon suspected that Rhen had not died, as the military had been told, but that he had escaped. He attempted to do the same and was caught, but then allowed to proceed by Rhen's former mentor, General Rone, on the condition that Sid report back periodically on the boy's status. Sid found Rhen and they started a mercenary team together, taking on jobs that suited them under Rhen's new false alias, Soran. Those times were good, until Soran learned of Sid's reports to Rone and they had a severe argument.

Sid never had a chance to explain himself. That night, Soran left in anger to go to his young girlfriend, a noble girl named Reya. Sid knew little about her up to that point, but the next day, the entire squad was informed that the girl had killed Soran in his sleep out of mere childish jealousy. Sid was devastated. Soran had been, in many ways, a little brother to him as well as a best friend. But Soran's death meant that he would never be able to restore their broken friendship. Resigned that his friend had died hating him, he found himself running from his feelings again. The army offered their squad a place under Rone's command, and as second in command of the group, Sid accepted. Since then, it has been ten years.

10) Personality: Sid has an extroverted, boisterous, cheerful, slap-you-on-the-back personality. He is slow to anger, and actually rather sensitive, but his burlesque physique and casual manner cover it well. He doesn't like really smart people because they tend to condescend to him as uneducated. Soran was an exception, but that's all in the past now...
He is impulsive and tends to do whatever makes him happiest in the short run.
