One account, many characters. So what is the limit for characters? I have two...

There's no limit ^_^ We only ask that if you join multiple threads, you try to avoid holding them up. So make as many characters as you want and can post reliably with.

Although there's no limit... take my advice, don't make more than you can handle.

Also, just b/c you create a character, that doesn't mean that you immediately have to start using him/her/it.
