Name: Destophe Lochly

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Race: Human

Job Class: Traveling Bard

Appearance:
Standing at about 5'9", Destophe is probably what you may expect from a bard that works off his charm for a living. He's not over large, a somewhat athletic build, toughened by years of living on the road, traveling from place to place and never settling anywhere for too long. Although it isn't entirely accurate, he can be described as baby-faced, with his young looking features and not a hair on his chin. But he manages this with a hint of roguishness, contrasting with the young innocence his face may suggest. Further putting off his young appearance is his wild, silver hair. It's a natural color, despite his age, and a few locks may fall over his face, obscuring his dark blue eyes.
Destophe's clothing is simple for the most part, and good for travelling to boot. If he's out on the road, then a forest green cloak most often than not covers most of his body. Otherwise, he has what he normally wears underneath, a tunic of some sort, usually a color friendly enough to blend him in with his environment without sticking out too much, and a pair of darker, but similarly colored pants. His feet are protected by a pair of travel-worn boots. Depending on whether or not he is on the road or not, he can be seen with a modestly stuffed travel pack with a lute strapped to the top.
Untrained for combat he may be, but the bard isn't completely unarmed. That would be silly. Instead, he wears a dagger on his waist, one long enough for some semblance of self defense, but not so long that it can't be used for utility purposes. If someone looks close enough too, there is a smaller knife hidden inside his right boot.

Abilities:
As would be expected from a bard, and not the magical sort of bard, Destophe has a wonderful memory for stories, songs, and rumors and already has a near encyclopedic knowledge of such things. However, those aren't the only things he's picked up throughout his travels and studies. Notably, Destophe has a thorough knowledge of plants and herbs of the places he's traveled through. As such, he can act as a healer... or an assassin, if the need arises. He doesn't have much in the way of combat skill, usually talking his way out of a situation, or at the very least, being harmed. In fact, he has a rather gilded tongue. And to aid in that through many cultures, he's rather skilled in languages, already familiar and fluent with many, and able to pick up more with relative ease. Also, he does have some ability with throwing knives, but it's used more for entertainment purposes, as knife throwing more often than not pisses people off without successfully killing them.

Weakness:
Destophe is not trained for combat, at all. As such, if he can't talk his way out of a situation, or someone is simply out for his life, he is in quite a bit of trouble. The most he can do is flee, which he is admittedly rather good at, or hope they do something incredibly stupid.

Biography:
There isn't much to say about Destophe's past. He was born in a small town to an instrument craftsman and his wife and lived a normal childhood. He played with the other children, learned music using some of his father's instruments, finding exceptional talent with the lute and the pan pipes, and he studied. Studying was what set him apart from many of the other children, as his family was one of the few educated ones in town. Still, he had a talent with people. Even if he was educated, even if he was better off, his natural charm was enough to befriend most of the children, and he was treated well by the adults too. But it wasn't until his teenage years that his real talent for memorization and storytelling was discovered.
It started off simple, with him dragging out small, random facts from his studies. But then it grew. Before long, he was regaling others with tales of heroics that he had read from his books, often reciting them word for word and adding his own flare to it. Life was good really... until his fifteenth year. It was sudden, and in his young mind, so very unfair. It may have been a plague, or maybe there was another cause. But all he knows is that in the span of a day, where he went out into the woods to visit a stubborn, sickly grandmother, everyone in his village died, and much of it burned to the ground. It took the span of a month, between mourning and trying to figure out what had happened, before Destophe made his decision. With only a lute that he had salvaged from the wreckage of his home and a rudimentary knowledge of survival skills gleamed purely off of books and stories, Destophe set off to face the world.

Personality:
Having lived so much of his young adult life alone on the road, Destophe cares almost entirely about one person: himself. Because of that, he can be a rather whimsical individual, relying on charm and deception to get him out of trouble. And he does find trouble quite often, as he sometimes has a tendency to charm the wrong woman... and that happens often and many times on purpose, as he can be a shameless flirt. Aside from that, he is also proud of his skills, and a surefire way to get him fired up is to belittle them.

Extra:
Destophe's travel pack mostly contains the essential supplies for traveling. A few changes of clothing, a small bedroll, some flint and steel, and food. Aside from that, it can often be found stuffed with a few bags of herbs, as well as a mortar and pestle to work the herbs on if necessary.
