Heirot

Mitsukai and Skye flew over the desert, she frowned thinking this couldn't possibly be the Border. She stopped flying and sat hovering in the sky.

"This can't be right." She said. "It's all sand and it's hot... this can't be the Border, or is it?" She asked Skye who hovered next to her, holding her hand as if he would know.

Thinking it was funny that she went the wrong way, Skye looked over at her.

"Silly, we're at the desert!"

He laughed briefly and kissed her on the cheek.

"Don't worry. It's okay. Everyone loses direction. I don't really know where the border is either, but I do know that this is not it."

OOC: A desert.....stupid girl. lol

"Ah heh." Mitsukai laughed nervously. She scanned the area and spied a small desert village. "Oh.. let's go there and see how far we're off." she said pointing it out and flew in that direction.


OOC: I'm going to put us into some trouble... like bandits caputring us or something lol. just so we have a plot in a thread.

"Ok"

Skye tried to see the village but it was really hot. When they got there, it felt really weird to be on the ground again, but it was ok. He didn't let go of Mitsukai's hand as they entered the village.

They landed near the front of the village causing stares from some people. Mitsukai thought it better to put her wings away. The sand from outside the village would quite possibly caused problems.

The village was made of small huts that were all enclosed. There were no outside shops. Many windows were made in the buildings and every once in awhile when the wind picked up, sand was thrown around.

Mitsukai and Skye walked around and asked a few people about maps. They were pointed in the direction of a tall building and when they entered they were overwhelmed by sudden cool air.

"Come in come in!" Said a young man from behind a counter. There were maps everywhere.

As the man greeted them, Skye pulled Mitsukai closer to him in case something were to happen.

"This place is full of maps. We should be able to get to the border quickly, now."

He kissed her on top of the head and walked up to the man.

Mitsukai smiled cheerfully at the man and they walked up to the counter.

"What ye need?" the man said. He was very handsome. Sandy hair, blue eyes. He had a strong build like Skye's under the cloak. Mitsukai batted her eyes innocently (oh yea.. trouble). The man smiled flirtaiously at her.

"We need a map to the border... or at least directions." She said. "I got us here by accident. I have a bad sense of direction."

The man laughed. "I wouldn't call you coming here an accident." the man flirted, barely noticing Skye's protective arm around her. "My name is Kyo."

"I'm Mitsukai and this is Skye." Mitsukai responded. The man smiled again at her then added,

"Well, you're actually quite close to the Border lil lady, it's just south of here. But maybe I should still give ye a map if ye have bad sense of direction eh?"

Seeing that the man was flirting with Mitsukai, Skye walked up in front of her. He was kinda pissed.

"We don't need a map. But watch it with Mitsukai, here. I appreciate the directions but I don't appreciate the flirting."

Skye glared at him and held Mitsukai behind him. Okay, so maybe he was a little jealous...He pinched nudged Mitsukai on the shoulder just barely as if to say, "That means you, too." He hoped he didn't make her mad, but he felt he had every reason to do so.

"We don't need a map. But watch it with Mitsukai, here. I appreciate the directions but I don't appreciate the flirting." Skye said angrily. Mitsukai jumped, she had never seen Skye angry before. The man behind the counter laughed.

"Sorry, I meant nothing by it. I just can't resist pretty faces. It's why I married my wife." he said proudly.

"Y-you're married?" Mitsukai said nervously. Weren't married men supposed to be faithful? The man nodded.

"But you have a fine man here, you're well taken cared for." Kyo said smiling. "Yes I'm faithful to my wife. Now, about those maps..." he walked off to the left of the store to where a pile of maps lay.

"Oh"

Skye felt so stupid. The guy was MARRIED!!! And he got mad at him. Skye turned to Mitsukai and smiled.

"Sorry about that. It's just that I love you! I can't let anyone flirt with you! I'm sorry!"

Skye walked over to the guy and apologized for his anger.

Kyo laughed."I understand, I'd do the same. Stop apologizing. I should be apologizing to you two actually."

"No don't." Mitsukai said, she didn't know what to expect anymore. Kyo looked through his mapss then plucked a small one out.

"There, this'll show ye where the Border lay. Why are ye two going over there anyway, ye need a pass to go through it."

"We're not going through, just to it to visit someone.." Mitsukai said taking the map and looking at it. Kyo shrugged.

"Ye two may wanna stay the night though. Bad storm has been predicted to come through and you don't want to be in a sandstorm."

Skye still held on to Mitsukai's hand. He felt kind of uncomfortable staying the night, but he figured that it would be better to stay than go through a sandstorm.

"So, where's a hotel?"

The idea of a "hotel" even made Skye somewhat excited. (tsk tsk....boys will be boys....lol)

OOC: my aim screwed up....ack! did u see the picture?

"A good Inn would be the Blazin Saddles. It's a very confortable place." he told them and sold Mitsukai the maps. "Ye two have a safe trip ok? And get a room in that Inn before the sandstorm comes!" Mitsukai smiled and waved bye to Kyo as they left the building. The minute the left Mitsukai shuddered.

"I believe that man about the storm. I just had a terrible feeling..." she said seriously.

"What kind of bad feeling? We're going to a hotel and we'll be safe there. Chill out! We'll be fine."

After he said this he kissed her neck and still kept his arm around her in a protective way. He looked ahead at the horizon. The sun blinded his eyes and everything started to blur. He threw his free hand up to block the sun. When they finally arrived at the Blazin Saddles, he returned his hand to his side and walked in. The hotel was very nice, but it seemed dark in there because it was so bright outside. As they walked up to the check-in desk, he put his other arm around Mitsukai trying to avoid anymore flirting.

Mitsukai laughed inwardly at his protecivness. They approached the desk and it was a woman clerk who had a homely look but was pretty. And she was small in stature.

"What can I do fer ye?" she asked sweetly.

"One room please." Mitsukai said.

"Would ye like two beds er just one?" Mitsukai blinked and looked at Skye as if he knew the answer to it.
