Lore: On the Road to Vengeance...
"It won't be long," she said, not realizing until now how late it was.
The sun disappeared behind the horizon, and they only had to walk in darkness for near half an hour. The moon was full, so the path was lit, and they could still see somewhat. They arrived at a small town, and the inn wasn't very far away.
"There's an inn up ahead," she told him.

"There's an inn up ahead," she told him.
"Good," Cainon replied quickening his pace. "I'm starving." He rubbed his stomach as it growled.
He opened the door for Xhaila and followed her in. He walked over to the bar and talked with the innkeeper.
"I got us a room," he told Xhaila. "You don't mind sharing, do you?" he asked, "I'll sleep on the floor."
He grabbed at his stomach again. "I really have to eat first though. Are you hungry?" He found a nearby table and took a seat.

"I think I'll have a steak with a baked potatoe." he finally told the waitress.
He took a sip of his water. As the waitress walked away he stopped her. "And I'll have a brandy too." He added.
He finished off his water, "I can't wait to lie down on that nice soft bed and catch some z's." he said, "Well, on a soflt blanket on the floor, anyways." he concluded with a smile.

"You can take the bed," she said with a laugh. "I really don't mind sleeping on the floor." It had always been that way. If any of her customers traveled with her, they always took the bed while she took the floor. She had grown used to it.
She took another sip of the water and began drawing circles around the rim of the glass.

Cainon would never let a woman sleep on the floor and himself sleep in a bed. "Oh no! The floor is fine with me." he said. "I couldn't live with myself if I slept in the bed while you were on the floor." He sipped on his water some more. The water was good but it wasn't holding down his hunger.
He got rather bored sitting there so he began to play with his water. He copied Xhaila and began drawing circles around the rim of his glass. The only difference was his water had become a whirlpool.
His concentration was broke by the waitress placing their food in front of them. "Finally," he said picking up his knife and fork.

Xhaila smiled at the waitress and thanked her before beginning to eat. She appreciated Cainon's kindness, so she decided not to argue with him any longer on who slept where.
She then wondered if he was planning on paying for their dinner, too. Just watch him. she thought to herself, he'll want to pay for my dinner. She wouldn't let him, though. She would insist on paying her part, and if she lost that argument as well, she would sneak the money back into his bag while he was sleeping.
"The room didn't cost to much, did it?" she asked.

"It wasn't bad," he said taking a breek from eating his steak. He had already eaten half of it. He finished his meal and sat back in his chair. He rubbed his belly and patted it softly. "I do believe that was the best steak I've ever ate."
He picked up his mug and finished off his last gulp of brandy. The waitress came back and took his plate. "Is there anything else I can get you?" she asked.
"No thank you," he replied.
"And you miss?" she asked Xhaila.

Xhaila had also finished her meal and smiled at the waitress when she came back. "No thanks. I'm good," she said, turning back to Cainon. "The food was great."
She wondered how nice the rooms were. Judging by the lobby, she assumed it wouldn't be too bad looking. The place was nicely decorated and very clean. A whole lot nicer than sleeping outside under or in a tree.
