(Lore) Recovering
Neko was tense, Kratos waited for a foolish move acted by Laya or his sister.
'I can't believe I'm just sitting here and waiting.. I should created a distraction or some kind!' Neko thought carelessly. 'I need to make the creature aware of us!!' Neko was getting desparate as the seconds from fire counted down.

She couldn't quite see... but taking from what was going on up a head... Laya knew she wouldn't be able to run and beat the arroes... She dismounted with great silence and ease and slowly walked towards the front to try and see, the many folds of her dress rustling as she did so. Her heart was pounding in her head. She wanted nothing more than to beat the arroes.
"What ever gods doomed me to this let me now be set free... please, let the arroes hit me..." She walked further towards the front, slowly, still not able to see...

The unicorn's ear twitched warily as his senses caught the sound of a human voice from behind him. He didn't waste time in turning to see who was there - if they'd approached without his knowing, he was likely already in danger. He thrust up to his feet in a surge of adrenaline and darted forward as the sounds of bowstrings releasing registered in his ears. A quick grunt escaped his throat as an arrow flew into his shoulder, while the others whizzed past very close to his head. He leapt across the spring, his hooves pounding into the soft earth, and galloped up the opposite bank of the river.
Fandir cursed under his breath as the creature took flight. He shot an accusing look at Neko and a confused one at Laya, who was on foot, but there was no time to discuss what had happened. "After it," he shouted to the group, and the party took chase, flying down the hill and in the direction the unicorn had run. "We would have had him, damnit," Fandir hissed under his breath.

"No!" Laya screamed when she saw the arrow plunge into the unicorns shoulder. She ran back to her horse and grabbed the horn of the saddle slinging herself into the saddle and kicking at the same time to try and get a head of the group. She cut off in a different direction, choosing to try and head the unicorn off or something. But, she had to get to it before them...
She tried her best to follow the shimmer of white and silver that darted in the forest. She found herself catching it... but maybe it was only herself imagening it. And the group could be ahead of her or behind her for all she knew.
"Curse you gods... curse you..."

Kratos shot a mean but apporving look at Neko. Neko rubbed her nose and laughed nervously.
"I didn't expect that...sorry." Although she was apologizing to no one but her Brother for the attacking group and Laya had taken off.
"We should follow. But at a distance away but close enough to see. This way we'll be here if the horse needs assistance." Kratos said a spurred his mount forward.
"Guess we can't stay in their company anymore." Neko commented taking off was well.

Laya pushed her horse to its limits, her hair flew around her and the trees and limbs passed her, branches slapping at her exposed skin.
"Come on..." she said through clenched teeth. "Please..."
It was either her imagenation... or something else. But she swore she was almost caught up with the creature.

Telanis raced through the brush and took the most difficult route he could find, his powerful legs sending him along so fast that he seemed to fly through the trees. The blood from the wound in his shoulder was dizzying him, and he could feel himself losing speed. How they had managed to find him, let alone sneak up on him, he did not know, but he needed to find a way to safely pause and remove the arrow so that the wound could heal itself. That hardly seemed like an option, though, as he could hear one of the humans' steeds gaining close behind him. He stole a brief glance backward at his pursuer, and his nostrils widened in confusion as he recognized the young woman he'd seen the night before. She had joined them? Was that how they'd found him? Realizing he'd been looking back too long, his eyes flashed forward just in time to skid sideways and avoid collision with a large oak tree. His hooves pounded harder as he lunged forward with a new strength fueled by indignance. He could hear the rest of the hunting party somewhat further behind, and took to diving under low-hanging branches and launching through brush to throw them off.

"Please don't run from me..." she whispered as she saw his head turn towards her. "I won't hurt you..."
But, it wasn't like he could understand her. She decided to continue to follow him. She had lost a lot of blood once... and knew that it wouldn't be long if he kept going at that rate... he would fall and get to tired to get back up...
She had to help him. She had to.

Laya's heart froze and her hands let the reins go as the voice entered her head. Her hands grabbed at it. Such an angry voice. No! Not Kron... it didn't sound like him. But, it was so angry and she couldn't think of where it could have come from. Was he alive?
The horse kept running as her eyes grew wide and fear filled her heart. Maybe it was the fact she was loosing her mind.... If she was loosing it then it was a good time. She would be dead soon and Kron would never be able to harm her again.
She tried to grab the reins and when she did she leaned forward, closing her eyes. It wasn't a voice... It wasn't a voice...

Telanis stumbled dizzily as a rock hidden in the underbrush took him by surprise, but kept galloping. After a moment he noticed that the hoofbeats immediately behind him had faltered and then slowed. Behind he and Laya, the hunting party was quickly catching up from the rear, and Neko and Kratos were not to be seen. Telanis could hear bowstrings stretching from his rear, and glanced back warily. The girl was right between them. Did they intend to shoot toward their own ally?
He lunged sideways, skidding 90 degrees and launching in a new direction to keep her out of the line of fire. Behind him, he heard the arrows release and fly toward him. Luckily, only one found its target, sticking into his back but falling out quickly, having struck at a weak angle.
"Get out of the way," his voice came again in Laya's head, this time more alarmed than angry. He faltered dizzily as his route dropped suddenly into a gulley, sliding nearly to a full stop to avoid going over the cliff and turning to run alongside it.

Laya gasped. It wasn't Kron's voice... but who was it. She pulled hard on the reins and the horse turned with a jerk. If she could just stay between them long enough... If only she had a white horse... then they might mistake it for the unicorn...
She felt the air off of an arrow. Those idiots didn't care who they shot at. She was glad now that they didn't know how good of an archer she was. If only Kron hadn't broke her bow... It hit her then that she wasn't hoping to die. She was hoping to live... to see the unicorn to safety.
She made a grunting noise when a limb smacked her face hard. She blinked and turned her head back forward. She wasn't giving up.

Telanis suddenly found himself out of level running space, the ground in front of him dropping into a steep hill down toward a shallow, but rapid river. Under normal circumstances, he could have run down the steep turf, but he was disoriented and lost his footing halfway down, stumbling into a roll and landing on his back in the water.
He twisted back to his feet and surveyed his surroundings. A heavy waterfall crashed into the river a few yards away. The pounding in his ears must have kept him from hearing it before. He knew this place... there was room to stand behind the waterfall. Now, while he was too low for the humans to see him, was his chance to take shelter.
He ran through the waterfall and stood perfectly still, listening for signs of the hunters.
