"You have great spirit, Tenele, but you won't get rid of me that easily. I need to keep tabs on both of you," the doctor said more good-naturedly, kneeling next to Vlad and pulling one of his pale-muscled arms up over his shoulder. "It's a rule of thumb not to move someone with a back injury, but I trust you'll not object to my help, my Lord," he said, meeting Vlad's eyes.
Vlad looked the doctor in the eye. He hated to admit it, but he really couldn't get back up, and the last thing he wanted was 3 more doctors in the room to follow protocol for bed-falling or whatever it would be called. He gripped the Doctor's arm firmly and nodded, preparing to be hauled back up. The Doctor smiled and helped Vlad stand and get back on the shredded sheets.
"Now I'll make you two a deal," the man said as he fetched a glass of water from a pitcher in the corner and set it next to Tenele. "Take care of your bodies and let me watch over you properly, and I'll move your cots side by side. If not, there are a dozen more doctors ready to accept my duty, and I doubt you'll prefer them."

Tenele smiled and gave a gentle nod and climbed slowly back under the covers. She leaned back against the headboard, her stomach giving a loud growl and complaining about the lack of food. However, she said nothing about it since the doctor was busy helping Vlad to his bed.
Tenele braided her silver hair idle and grabbed a string from the bed covers and tied her hair losely with it, although it was sure to fall out in a matter of minutes if she moved to much. Tenele watched Vlad for a moment before leaning her head back and closing her eyes to rest.

The doctor smiled and went off to a small pantry in the corner of the room, pulling out some things and preparing a small meal of stewed fruit, chicken, and rice for Tenele. He brought the tray over to her and set it on a bench that nestled across her cot. Then he moved the cot directly beside Vlad out of the way and rolled Tenele's up next to his. In fact, he put them directly against each other. "Don't get the wrong idea," he warned Tenele, "He shouldn't be moved. But I guess even vampires can use support when they're injured. Though I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it myself. My name is Doctor Umeda, call if you need anything." With that, he went off out the door to the adjacent room where he was working with other patients.
"Such a nosy doctor," Vlad smirked, though he didn't seem to really resent the man's advice.

Tenele smiled and thanked the doctor kindly. She looked at the line that seperated her cot from Vlad's and a small smile crossed her face. At least it wasn't a huge gap. She went about eating her meal quietly and when she was finished she pushed the tray away. She pulled the blanket up over her belly and smiled as she was completely comfortable and content, though still very tired.
Tenele glanced over at Vlad and then turned her head to face him. She looked his face over for a moment and then looked back straight a head. She wanted to crawl across her cot and lay closer to him, to put her head on his shoulder, though she figured it would be painful for him and Sinead would not be happy about it. Though, she meant no disrespect, she just didn't care. She loved Vlad, was that so wrong?
"So," Tenele said and looked back at Vlad. "How long does it take Vampires to heal?"

"With my strengths unlimited and the right supply of blood, a matter of moments," Vlad said. "With handicaps on, something like this will take a few days. A week, technically, but I'm not that good at lying still," he winked at Tenele. Besides, I don't have a week, he thought to himself as the tell-tale hunger burned dully in his chest. Too bad he hadn't hunted before all this began, but there was no way to anticipate wasting that much blood to such trivial wounds.

Tenele looked at him and nodded. She smiled suddenly. "Yes, I suppose it would take a week for me to heal as well. I'm so weak... Oh...." she said and put a hand to her forehead playfully. She then rolled over on her side to face Vlad, sinking down further into the bed and looking up at him. She scooted over closer to his cot and rested her head to where the top of her head pressed against his arm. She lied there for several moments before finally falling a sleep again.

Vlad began to smirk at Tenele's words, but the look transformed to pensive fascination as she cuddled up against his shoulder. It had been a long while since he'd let a woman fall in love with him, much less given any thought to his feelings in return. He knew all there was about flirting and courting, but this was new. Of everyone in this kingdom, she was the only one who wanted to see him well, with no ulterior motive. He hadn't needed things like that in the past, and still didn't claim to, but for once it seemed extremely...nice.
What the hell. He decided to give it a shot. See where this path would lead him; life was getting boring, and something new couldn't kill him.
Probably.
He arched his neck down so that his forehead touched her hair and rested his arm that wasn't down against the bed lightly around her shoulders. It was surprisingly comfortable. He lay without sleeping, just looking absently at the top of tenele's head and pondering.

Tenele was sleeping peacefully, napping in the early morning. Rays of sunshine filtered in giving her a warm comforted feeling. Soon the sun was setting and then everything was dark. The doctor had came and left and now the night was all too themselves.
Tenele opened her eyes after the fourth nap of the day. There was something about sleeping all day that just made her want to sleep all day. She blinked to let her eyes adjust and looked around the room for a moment before settling back in the snuggling position she had grown to like quite nicely.
She felt herself wanting to fade off when she heard what sounded like someone dropping a tray from outside their room. She sat up slowly, running a hand through her silk hair. She glanced to the door and noticed lights were on on the otherside. Maybe a doctor had come in to check on a patient. She went back to her position. The door to there room opened slowly, however the light that had been on the other side as no out so darkness was all Tenele saw. However she heard the sound of feet moving across the marble floor.
She thought nothing of it, after all it had to be a doctor. She nestled herself back into her cuddling position when suddenly a hand grabbed her and jerked her away from Vlad. The perons, whoever it was, slapped cuffs around her wrists and managed to get them around the polles of her cot bed as well.
She felt a struggle on the other side of the bed... where Vlad was on his cot and knew that they must be trying to tie him down as well. At that moment someone lit a candle and the small corner of their recovery ward was illuminated by the soft glow of a single candle flame.
"I told you I would return tonight to finish what I started," the woman said. She looked just as fragile as ever, however a darker tint was in her eyes than when Tenele had seen her in that horrible town. She looked like a new and different person, although Tenele guessed loss could do that to someone.

Vlad was completely out, despite the noise outside. It was Tenele's yelp of alarm that woke him up, but before the situation could even make sense to him, he was suddenly yanked onto his back and his arms pulled over his head. Vlad jerked as the bonds closed over his wrists, rattling the entire headboard and nearly pulling it off. If the motion didn't require so much back strength, he could have easily ripped the bed in half, but instead he fell flat again into the sheets. Angry now and high on pain, he tried rolling sideways and threw a kick into the stomach of the man standing next to him, feeling the kick connect with satisfaction.
Unfortunately, his body felt the kick connect also. His head reeled as he set his efforts back onto his restraints, and suddenly hands took hold of both his feet, coarse rope noosing around his ankles and strapping them taut to the foot of the bed. He looked over at Tenele to see the same thing happening to her.
This was a problem. The place was completely empty of doctors, and the walls in the ward were designed to block of sound so patients could sleep better. They were on their own with whoever was there. Vlad finally caught the eye of the woman, and recognized her face vaguely from the sex town. These were the people who attacked Tenele's home, the ones she had talked about.
Vlad's hands sprouted long daggerlike claws and began clawing fiercely at the wooden headboard where his cuffs had been fastened.

Tenele pulled and tugged at the cuffs. One of the goones pulled the covers away from her body. Tenele kicked him in the face. He growled and grabbed her ankle as it came back to attack again. Another one grabbed her other ankle and she was soon completely tied down and unable to move. She jerked and kicked and moved, wanting to be let go so she could fight.
The men she had kicked in the face leaned closer into the light and she stifled a gasp. It was the friend of the man from her nightmares... or the servant. She didn't know which one he was.
"Scar, bring the tray over..." the woman said to one of her minions. The one that had just been kicked in the gut walked over to the other side of the room and brought a tray over with several sharp cutting tools, and other frightening looking objects. "So... whose heart should be cut out first? If I cut Vladimir's heart out, then it would do no good and he would not have felt the sorrow I have felt... but if I cut her heart out it will only give him enough time to destroy the bed. Well... I guess we'll do it at the same time...."
Two men on either side of them, and she was holding the candle while the other's lit more candles to see by. Tenele jerked and fought, but could not get free from what held her to the bed.
One of them snickered and placed his hand on her wiggling ankle, running his finger tips up the inside of her leg and pushing her gown slowly up. Tenele clenched her teeth closed to keep from whimpering or giving them any satisfaction. She just rolled her head to the side facing Vlad and closed her eyes tightly.
The hand that had wound its way up her leg was now gone and she felt soemone tugging on the upper part of her gown, ripping down the buttons. She yelped in shock, though mostly at the memories it brought back of being tied to that bed... and that man ripping at her clothes. Her eyes opened and she stared straight at Vlad, trying to ignore what was happening to her and concentrate on what was happening to him. She knew why they needed to remove her clothing... and Vlad really didn't have much on for them to remove.

Vlad's anger rose as he heard them ripping at Tenele's clothes. Men were blocking his view of what happening, but he had a close enough guess.
All at once, his whole appearance changed. His eyes glowed a bright crimson in the dim room, face creasing into a monstrous his as his lips drew back from long, pointed teeth. He threw his mouth open and what could only be described as an unearthly screetch blasted from his lungs directly at the man who had been about to cut into his chest. The man took one look at him and dropped the knife, jerking back so fast that he knocked over one of his colleagues.
Vlad snarled at them, his hands yanking taut against his restraints until his arms shook with power.
"I thought you said he was injured!" gasped one of the men, backing away from the vampire that was snarling at them like some kind of demon. He drew a scimitar from his belt just in case.

Tenele jumped, startled by the sound Vlad was making. The men close to him moved and allowed her to be able to see him. She rolled her head to the side, watching him closely. For a moment she thought that he had been cut...
Tenele turned her head upwards and looked up at the two men who were planning on operating on her. They were going to remove her heart. She watched with wide open eyes as the men snickered and grabbed sharp knives from the cart. One of the men ranning the dull end of the blade lightly down her throat and down the middle of her chest, then circled once around her breasts. He was grinning from ear to ear when Tenele finally got the nerve to stare defiantly at him.
"Now I know why you were a slave to that bastard... a woman wouldn't want you, so you had to settle for a man," she spat, grinning defiantly.
It probably was the wrong thing to say, however she didn't care. He leaned in close to her and glared her in the eyes with his face mere centimeters away. "I'll show you how I get women..." he growled, his breath foul with some odor she had never smelled. She almost gagged.
"If you permit it," he continued, looking back at the woman holding the candle and watching all that was going on.
"Sure, why not. It might hurt the vampire more anyway... and besides... if he knows what is best for her and wants her death quick and painless... He'll be still and watch like a good boy." She smirked at Vlad as his arms shook from pulling on the cuffs. Her eyes moved from him to the large form of the beast of a man who was climbing on top of the now terrorfied half-elf.
Tenele's expression grew mortified as the beast climbed clumsily on top of her. "No," she gasped and tried with all her might to pull herself free. When that didn't work she tried to push herself further into the bed. "No!"

Vlad roared again, much too loud for a human voice, and jerked forward against the cuffs. This time the entire headboard dislodged from the cot, lifted over his head and hurled at the men. The heavy board took three men down like a battering ram, the bar that secured his cuffs splintering uselessly along the way. Vlad smirked evilly at Cracker's sister and drew his arms apart slowly, the metal links of the chain bending open like it took no effort at all.
His hands now free and separate with what remained of the handcuffs dangling from each wrist, Vlad sat there just staring with a huge, crazed smile and morbid red eyes. He chuckled slowly, the deep sound seeming to come from all around the room. He turned suddenly, eyes wide, and directed his expression toward the man on top of Tenele. Having fun? the madly amused voice echoed inside his head.

At first the man was too busy with his new play-mate to realize what was happening. His face was burried in her neck and he was mere inches from his target. Tenele was panting with fear, shaking uncontrollably. Then she heard the sound of a head board breaking. The man on top of her was still caught up in the act and now she could feel his weight growing more, squishing the breath from her. The sound of his buddy's yell and the familiar sound of demonic laughter brought the man out of his trance and stopped him from moving the any further than where he was already. The man was frozen in fear, having watched the vampire split his chains in half.
"Having fun," he heard the voice of the vampire say, however the creature's lips did not move. The man's eyes grew wide and he knew that he would be taken out as well if he didn't act quickly.
He grabbed the knife he was going to use to cut Tenele's heart out and quickly pressed it to her throat. "I'll kill her, I swear it. Don't lay a hand on me..." He decided to get off the bed and stand on the other side. His pants around his knee's only made him flop clumsily out of the bed and kneel next to Tenele, the knight cutting along her throat ever so slightly so that a small line of blood could be seen. She didn't wince, or cry out. She was too shaken to pay attention to a knife at her throat. Now she felt truely exposed... and emberassed... Though there wasn't much good she could do, cuffed to the bed and all.
"Kill her!" Lydia said quickly. She wanted at least one thing to go right.
