Mizuki gasped as she broke away from his lips. She smiled and giggled and buried her face between his neck and shoulder. Her body started to shake as she clung to him happily.

"S-so," she said finally, moving far enough away to speak clearly, "W-Was that man the girl at the tavern... watched, you?" She blushed, she smiled, she shook-which for the life of her she couldn't explain-She was just plain happy.

"Perhaps," Soran said, a smile playing onto his face. "I didn't want to repeat her mistakes." She was trembling in his arms. "...Are you alright?" he asked gently.

Mizuki cuddled in his arms more, relaxing against him. "I'm fine.." she said, "Just, shaky from...the excitment." She smiled as she laid her head down on his shoulder.

Soran's cheek rested on the side of Mizuki's head and he felt himself relax in her contact. Anyone else, and his defenses flew rigidly up at so much as a pat on the shoulder, but around her alone, he trusted contact. He half-closed his eyes and ran his hand carefully along her hair, almost unable to believe this was him. "I doubt I'll be impressed when I come to see the fountain alone, anymore," he said, looking at the fountain over her shoulder. The gold hues were fading to the soft blue of twilight. "..now that I know you exceed it, in that light." His ears burned at his clumsy wording for the compliment.

Mizuki giggled at his clumsy compliment, but she figured she knew what he meant. She caressed his cheek with her hand and stared up at him lovingly.

"I love you." she said softly, her cheeks burning with the unfamilarity of those words.

Soran stared at her, stunned but glad, his eyes bright. He leaned down and kissed her again, and hugged her tight. This feeling wasn't supposed to be possible, and wasn't supposed to be safe, but it was.

Mizuki kissed him back and held him there with her hand. She pulled away again, just enough so they were an inch apart. She smiled at him before speaking, "I guess, I finally opened you up." She smiled and kissed him again, holding him tightly.

"Come on, I wasn't that bad," Soran mumbled with a slight grin against her lips.

Mizuki started to laugh so hard that she broke their kiss. She didn't even bother to comment on that. She finally got herself under control after a while and stared up at him. She held his face in her hands and just smiled at him.

"I can't even understand why you're not possibly already married." she said.

Soran balked as she laughed in his face, in too good a mood to mind but too proud to not look incredulous.

"I can't even understand why you're not possibly already married." she said.

"I made sure no one dared to ask," he returned slyly. He thought for a second. Technically, it was possible he was married, but unlikely. "Apparently I failed to make you afraid of me," he said in an exaggeratedly scientific tone, as if trying to contemplate why a machine had failed to work properly.

Mizuki giggled again and kissed him quickly. "You're not gonna scare me off with a forever frowning face." she giggled and smiled more at him. She pinched his cheeks lightly and pulled his lips down in an awkward frown.

She smiled at him and let his face go. "Hmm... that reminds me... I have a son with wings waiting for me..."

"Ah, but princess," Tensho began. "You have the prince back home waiting for you. It is he you must marry."

Rai made a fake sad face. "But the evil witch Boomba killed him, so... your next in line!" Rai said and laughed.

"Ah, but fair princess," Tensho began to say. "Your father the king would never permit it. For one, I am but a plain commoner, not fit to marry one of royal blood. For another, the prince lives! He was but horribly wounded by the witch, and dearly wished to save you. However, he could not, and in his stead, sent me!"

Rai looked at him and grinned evilly. "Okay I'll marry you both!" Rai giggled. She grabbed a hold of Tensho's hand. "Because I'm the princess and I say so! But we don't have to tell anyone we're married," she said and giggled again.
