Soran tried to focus on Rai over the staggeringly coherent babble that was coming out of Blade's mouth, his eyes falling to the hole she was covering. "Time for a new shirt," he commented flatly, bending to get a new one from the rack he was standing beside. Of course, Rai couldn't see from her perspective that his comment was as much about the wide red stain where his wounded shoulder had soaked through the back of the shirt the night before as Rai's own 'adjustments' to the garment. Across the store, he caught Siren's eye and gave her a look that asked if they were ready to go.

Siren noticed Soran's glance and abandoned her shirt search, grabbing the nearest acceptable garment, a loose blue tunic-type shirt, and deciding she could make her own alterations. She brought that, the pants, and the socks, up with her to Soran and handing them to the store owner.

"All set!" she said, stifling a laugh as she glanced at Rai. "What about you? I see you're making your own improvements as well. Maybe you should take a quick look at the children's garments?" she pointed toward the children's section.

Tensho approached the counter with his purchases. "If you don't mind, I can cover the cost of the clothing," he offered to Soran. He placed the two tunics he picked out. "Or if anything, at least let me pay for Siren's as an apology to her."

OOC: hahaha! Sorry Soran.. but babies do that...>_> -stares at her nephew who is currently asking her for...something..-

Blade rested his head on Soran's shoulder and watched everyone with calm eyes. His wings gently flexing themselves on their own accord.

The rogue looked at Tensho oddly for a moment. "That's not necessary," he asserted flatly, pride frosting his voice as he tried to understand why this near-stranger was trying to buy his whole family clothes. "It's unlikely she would interpret your saving me money as an apology anyway," he added less coldly while the shopkeeper neatly folded Soran and Siren's clothes into a pile and Jhaptal's into another next to it.

Tensho shrugged, deciding not to argue the point. The rogue knew his family better than he did anyway. Instead, he just paid for his own clothing and waited for the rest to finish.

Rai ran to the children's section that Siren pointed out to her. She sawa woman standing there with a furry looking cloak and it looked like a dead thing around her neck because it still had a head! Rai walked around the woman curiously to notice that she reminded Rai very much of a duck. She had a flat nose with long lips that almost stretched from one side of her face to the other, and she had a funny sleaked back style to her hair.

The woman looked at Rai as if she were nothing more than dirt on the ground before her, then she turned her attention back ot a pair of clothes she was deciding between.

Rai skipped, humming slightly, towards a rack and found nice pretty yellow dress. She held it up to her and it looked like it would fit. She twirled around, laughing and then fell right into the duck woman.

"What..." the woman said and looked down at Rai... "Uh... I don't need fleas..."

Rai tilted her head for a moment and only shrugged since she didn't know what the woman meant. Rai didn't sell fleas...

She skipped back to the front and handed the dress to Soran coming up behind her was the rich woman who had been so rude before.

She would have stopped, but she couldn't help the fact that the group looked so very odd together. She looked to Soran, who only had his pants, to Blade, and to the little girl who had ran into her, who had a very large torn shirt on...

"Its sad that commoners can only afford one pair of clothes to devide between you all," she told Soran with a casual smirk. She then left the store without buying anything.

Rai just shrugged because she really didn't understand the woman.

Siren glared after the woman in shock. She reached for her whip handle and moved as if she was going to follow the woman out. Something about human snobbery was really wearing thin on her nerves that day.

She held back though, remembering where she was and that she didn't need to protect Soran in that way. Not in front of him anyway.

OOC: bored and feel like doing something funny.

Blade didn't like the mean old lady. His face screwed up as if he was going to cry. He threw his small, pudgy baby fist in the direction the woman left and screeched slightly, as if yelling at her.

With the magic gifted to him by his Dark Angel blood AND the inherited seer powers, he caused the woman to trip over her own feet and fall on her face.

He giggled with delight and buried his face again into Soran.

Soran looked down at the dress Rai handed him and laid in on the stack approvingly, outwardly making no response to the unfamiliar woman's comments, though his expression was cold. He paid the tailor for the dress, Siren's clothes and enough pants and shirts to keep him covered for a while, then moved sternly back out onto the street, leaving it to the others to catch up.

In truth, the unfamiliar woman's stuffy comment had scraped at his already-thinning nerves, and he wanted to get this trip over with. Stepping disinterestedly around the obnoxious peacock of a woman who lay in his path as he exited the store, he paid no mind to the pair of shifty men who sidled up to her as he passed.

"Why hello there, dear lady. You look like you could use a hand?" said one with a dark grin.

"That's an awfully nice fur coat you're wearing there. What brings a rich broad like yourself into this part of town?" the other asked slyly.

"We wouldn't want something to happen to you, a noble lady walking alone in an area like this. Please allow us to escort you," the first man said, helping her to her feet. The offer was made more persuasive as the faint prick of a knife point could be felt through the fur cloak on her back.

Soran heard and understood what was going on; he could have seen it coming a mile away - a woman walking around looking like that in a city like this was begging to be mugged. The rogue walked on expressionlessly, not inspired to interfere in the woman's problems.

Rai stopped and turned around, watching the two help the lady up. It was the lady who looked like a duck... The little girl tilted her head to the side and watched as a shiny object disappear. "What are you doooing?" she asked, being very curious about the shiny object. Rai danced around them for a moment and put her hands behind her back. The shiny object had caught her attention, though she didn't know what it was she just know it was on the womans back...

"Can I see the shinny thing?" she asked, her curiousity for something shinny taking over her little mind. Children are strange things, getting distracted by anything that looks mysterious. Since Rai was a child she also didn't understand the tone in ther voices, lately she had put a side subconciously, the way she could detect something bad. It had faded away along with the memories of what happened in Arroes.

Tensho noticed exactly what was going on and sighed. Not particularly liking snobs himself, he went over to Rai and put his hands on her shoulders. "Now Rai," he said. "Leave those three alone." He kept his guard up the whole time in case the two men decided to attack him.

Siren frowned at the scene in front of her as she exited the store, particularly because Rai was getting involved. She didn't care for the woman, but the sight of the ruffians with a knife against the woman's back perturbed her. It was too familiar. She came and stood behind Rai and Tensho, glaring into one of the men's eyes coolly.

"There's nothing here that could possibly interest you Rai," she said, trying to keep a collected voice, but remembering fully well how her last master had died. She wasn't upset with Rai in the least, but she didn't like seeing such a thing again anyway, though she didn't think they would risk harming the coat.

Rai looked up at Tensho and then she leaned over and looked behind Tensho to Siren. The half-elf child giggled and skipped out from Tensho's hands and around to follow after Soran, who seemed to be still going on with out them to Rai. She couldn't help the fact she still wanted to know what the shiny thing was!

Blade cooed and snuggled into Soran more. If his little mind could process what was going on, he'd probably use his magic again on the two men.
