LORE: The Beginning to Their End
Damien snatched his around and followed her closely. The farm bred horse he rode kept up with Fireheart for a little while but slowly began to lag behind. When they reached the lava streams the horse grew timid and didn't want to go any further.
Damien cursed the pathetic beast and urged him forward. When it didn't listen at all, Damien grew angry at the beast and leaped off of it. Out of the lava pit rose a a mighty creature of fire. It had a massive wing span. It's head was as big as the horse itself and razor sharp teeth filled it's mouth. Damien laughed as the horse quivered under the fiery fiend that towered above it. "You poor, pathetic creature..." he growled, "You should have just listened and trusted me."
The giant fire dragon fell over the horse engulfing it in liquid fire. The beast rose again and Damien leaped on its back. He didn't sit on the creature but stood and smiled as he quickly caught Mi and her valiant steed.

Mi smiled back. "I wonder," She called over her shoulder. "Are you trying to impress me, or do you do this sort of thing often?" she asked and sped her horse up to get distance between them. He would need to work for her exceptance... and he was doing a damn good job of getting it. However, geting her fathers would be a totally different thing. Her fahter hated all men that fancied her. Even fellow fire mages.
Damien knelt down and leaned his head forward. The dragon sped up and caught her. Damien's hair popped as the warm wind passed over him.
He had actually impressed himself. He had never conjured anything of this size before but he loved how it made him feel. He felt strong and powerful.
As he got up beside her again, he yelled, "Is it working?" He smiled and flew up ahead of her.

Mi looked back. "If I were to admit that, then you might stop trying," she said and didn't inform him either way. He would have to guess and see if he was impressing her. However, if he knew her more he would know that since he was not dead yet, he had to be doing something right.
The path was winding, and narrow and soon the tree limbs that had no leaves were hanging lower and some hit her in the face. She lowered her head and leaned against her stallion until they cleared the thick brush.
Upon clearing it, they bounded up a steap slope. Rocks slid under Firehearts hoovs, but he climbed with agile grace until he reached the cliff top where a nice sized cottage sat, surounded by a mote of firey lava. "Home, sweet home."

Damien smiled, feeling that he was getting to her. "Most likely not..." He said as he soared above the thick brush. It wasn't long before he came back to her side and rode. After a few minutes, he saw a small cottage.
"Home sweet home," she said as they approached it.
"This is where your father lives?" he asked a bit disappointed, "Not really what I was expecting."
The creature he rode melted away into the earth as Mi slowed her pace and he walked beside her and Fireheart.

Mi walked towards the mote of molten lava that surrounded the cottage. "Never judge anything by the way it looks. Not in a world of magic," she said and smiled as she put one foot out to stop over the edge and fall into the lava. "Especially in a world of magic. She stepped off, however did not fall, and soon she walked until she was standing in the middle of the mote, suspended in mid air, or so it seemed.
"Coming?" she asked as so walked the rest of the way across and opened the front door to the hous, which was pitch black on the inside.

Mi smiled. "Fireheart, go to the stables and I will be out shortly to unsaddle you," she told him. As if the horse understood her he walked away, heading in the direction of the stables.
"Come inside, though do not expect a warm greeting," she told him as she stepped into the darkness and closed the door behind him. She walked again and opened another door that filled the room with light. On the inside was a room that was large and grand and clearly could not fit inside a small cottage. To anyone who didn't understand magic, clearly this would boggle the mind. "We have seven spare rooms, hopefully you can find one to your liking."

Mi smirk faded for a moment. "I'm sure I can find one that looks quite like mine, but I'm afraid staying with me is not an opption." If he knew the reason then he would understand, unfortunately she could not disclose it to him at the moment... and probably wouldn't ever.
"Mi, is that you," a dark and raspy voice said from the top of the stairs. A black robed man appeared, his greasy black hair hung in strands around his face. His hooked nose twitched as he took in the smells, his black eyes darted from her to the man she had brought with her. It wasn't hard to see that he was ugly, and it wasn't hard to see that this man could not be her father. However, he was her father, or so he claimed. She had known no one but him.
"Who is he?" Randle asked with a hiss. He better not be a man his daughter had fallen for. She belonged to him and no man would have her but him.
"A friend, gifted Fire Mage, and I sense demonic blood as well. He is quite powerful," she said as she took several steps forward.
"Well, we'll see," her father said as he bounded down the steps in the most unpleasant way, his eyes overlooking his "daughter".
Mi looked back at her new friend. "Damien, this is my father. Randle De'lrongrey."

Damien saw the man and could sense his power was strong and the man was full of evil. "I'm honored, sir," he nodded. "Mi says that you're quite a powerful man."
Damien wanted to duel the man but didn't say so at the moment. He first needed to earn his trust. "This is quite a place you got here," he added. "He could use a little work outside but not too shabby." He had respect for the man but had a tendency to speak his mind and he thought the man may respond to him if he were a blunt guy.

Randle glanced at Damien and furrowed his brows. He said nothing, however, and looked back at his daughter. "I didn't tell you to bring anyone with you, Mi," he said and looked back at Damien.
"Father..."
"Shut-up," he said. "You will listen to me." He raised his hand as if to hit her, and she did not flinch. However, this time he did not hit her, he stoked her face lightly. "It is late, we will discuss this in the morning. Go to sleep, I will take care of fire heart."
"I'll show Damien to a room," she said.
"No. I will take care of that as well," he said, knowing the man was sleeping with his possession... he would not allow them to be in rooms nearby.

Randle looked at him for a moment, wanting to fry him then and there, but that would come in due time. "Well... alright, however I would like to ask you a question... Mi, wait at the top of the stairs for our guest."
When Mi was out of earshot her father moved in close to Damien and eyed him thoughtfully. "Have you slept with her?" he asked, his voice held no emotion and it seemed odd for him to ask such a random question and one that was none of his business. Damien could either lie and say that he had, or tell the truth. However, evil people do the damnedest things.
