What Vairah made up for in raw obstinacy, she lacked in actual strength. When her ploy failed and the boy began hauling her back to An'thinal's house, she stumbled to her feet blinking owlishly and cursing in several languages at once. If she had to go back in disgrace, it would be... er... dignified disgrace. Or... something. Why did she even bother? This was just not her day. She went limp, flopping bonelessly to the ground, but her unconcerned captors didn't seem to notice. It took only a few seconds of being dragged bumping along the beach with her clothes rapidly filling with sand before she dragged herself upright again.

An'thinal's house lurched back into her field of vision sooner than she would have liked, but no worry, it was quickly obscured by the shifting patterns of light and color dancing across her eyes. Migraines were lovely things, really. In a feeble display of ill temper, she spat into the boy's face. What was he thinking, holding onto her arm like that? He was lucky she didn't bruise easily, or he'd take it out of his hide. She had half a mind to, anyway, for the sheer insult.

They were practically at An'thinal's door. "Hullo, anybody home?" she called out, her voice dripping with saccharine irony.
