(Lore) Hide and Seek

Elena struggled and struggled. She kicked and jerked and tried to get her arms loose but they were pinned between her and Gargon's bodies.

"No..." she said hopelessly, realizing she couldn't get loose. "No..." Her voice grew faint and tired as all her energy had been spent trying to fight Gargon off.

"That's it mother... Relax... Nothing will hurt you I promise..." Gargon whispered soothingly into Elena's ear.

"No..."

"Shhh...." He said and stroked her hair to keep her calm. He only needed a few more minutes and he would have it. He would be in her womb and in the child she carried.

Airen held her out and shook her a little bit. "Elena! Snap out of it please." His voice had become shakey and full of worry. " Elena! Please, come back to me."

The old woman stood by the door and watched the struggle.

Gargon rested his head on top of Elena's as he concentrated on holding her soul in some strange realm where he could transfere his soul with her back to her body. Where they both could reside.

"I'm not your..."

"Shhh...." he said, smiling. She was weak and tired from fighthing him. Now she had no energy left and it was almost complete.

"mommy..." Elena finally finished after several minutes.

"Mother, mother, such sad words to say to your son. They cut me deep..." He whispered and pulled her tighter against, holding onto her so tightly she couldn't breath. She tried to gasp for breath but nothing came in.

Finally she let out air and with that her eyes fluttered open and she saw Airen's blurry form.

Airen noticed her eyes fluttering and figured he had finally snapped her out of her dream state. He pulled her back to him and placed his hand on her head as she laid it on his shouder. His heart felt like it was about to beat slam out of his chest. he has never been so scarred.

"It's okay," he whispered tenderly." It's okay."

Elena closed her eyes, taking long deep and slow breaths as her heart raced. Slowly but surely it slowed to its normal pace as did her breathing. She didn't say anything, she really didn't know what to say. What a horrible dream...

Elena hadn't put her arms around Airen yet. They were still close to her chest where they had been pinned moments before. But, as reality hit her that she was awake she slipped them around his waist and hugged him closely.

She didn't say a word. She just listened to Airen's gentle voice as he told her things would be okay.

Airen felt her relax as she put her arms around him. He let a sigh of relief. He was so glad that she had come back to him. He was really worried about what was going on. He was having strange dreams first and now this. He just held her close and waited for her to speak to him.

Elena didn't know what to say. She just stayed quiet and finally she swallowed hard. "I don't know what happened..." she said softly. "My tattoo started burning... and then I passed out... I think... I don't remember what it was I dreamed.... I just remmeber images...."

Airen held her close. He really didn't want her to see all of the worry in his face. He felt like he needed to stay strong for her.

"What were the images?" he asked dryly. Trying not to let her hear the nervousness in his voice.

Elena swallowed hard. "G-gargon... He was holding me and wouldn't let go... I don't remember what he said... Well I remember him saying he would protect me... and keep me safe...." She paused. She didn't want to tell him the next part, because she was unsure of what it meant. But, she wanted to tell him anyway... "And he would love me..."

Airen pulled her away from him gently. " Love you..." he said, mostly thinking aloud. "... Love you... How could he love you? If he loved you how could he have done that to you? He can't love. He's a demon."

He pulled her close to him again and embraced her. " Let's not think to much about it right now." he whispered.

Elena was trembling and shaking and she didn't even notice it. When he pushed her away she couldn't look him in the eyes. She didn't understand why she couldn't but she felt too ashamed and emberassed for something she hadn't done...

"I can't help it," she said. "I can't help but think about it. It scares me..."

Airen wasn't sure what to do to comfort her. All he did was hold her in his arms and try to show her some pratection. " It'll be okay." he said. He glanced around the room and saw the old woman standing in the door.

"Would you give us a moment?" he asked politely.

The old woman looked a bit out of place and shocked. "S-s-sure!" she said, moving out and closing the door quickly.

Elena closed her eyes and nuzzled her face close to Airen's neck. "It's okay..." he said.

"Yes, okay... It was just a dream anyway," she said and smiled. "Probably just a silly dream that was caused by the pain on my hip..."

Airen stood up and looked out the window. Night had already come and their was not much they could do in the dark. " I'll go see if we can rest here for the night." he said. " Would you like to get out of bed and join me in here by the fire for a little while. Unless you are tired and would like to go to bed? And then I would come join you."

Elena looked at him. "I'll get up with you..." she said and stood up. She didn't want to sleep anymore or dream of Gargon.
