Vlad's instincts surged for a second under the temptation of Tenele's invitation, but he held his desires in check. He'd taken enough blood for his magic to spill over into hers; but he didn't want to continue and run the risk of weakening her. He wanted to spent this night with her healthy and excited about the future. It had been quite a while since the future had held this much anticipation for him. "I have everything I need," he answered her with a grin, letting the double meaning of his words ride. He leaned down and kissed her lips. Instead of speaking, he searched out along the buzzing connection they temporarily shared and admired the strange musical symmetry of her mind. By contrast, the inside of his vampiric head must have seemed bizarre and disarranged, yet their thoughts seemed to fit together well enough. 'I bet I can stay awake longer than you, he taunted her, his mind a warm baritone inside hers.

Tenele laughed softly. "I know not to make bets that I might lose," she told him as she kissed him back softly, twining her arms around his neck. She dipped her head, kissing along his jaw, humming a soft sigh. Very content with herself at the moment, and being held by him. The firelight reflected off their skin as the warmth spread through them. "We can test this theory of yours, though." She grinned mischeviously. She shifted just slightly beneath him, her grin turning purely wicked. "I'm up to attempting to beat you."

Vlad smirked at her and ran a cool hand lightly across her forehead, just brushing her eyebrows before weaving his fingers into her hair. He massaged his fingertips in a slow, light circle along her temple, suspecting that she wouldn't stand a chance. After all, he could stay awake for days or months if he chose to. Although he had to admit, he was strangely sleepy.

He suddenly realized why. He was tapped into Tenele's human side at the moment, as no doubt she was tapped into him. That did make things a bit more interesting, but then, willpower was practically hard-wired into his lifestyle. He certainly wasn't about to fall asleep before a mortal. He smiled as he rolled onto his side, where he wouldn't put so much weight on her. He kissed her cheek and went on stroking her head. "You know you want to," he teased her in a low, musical voice.

Tenele smiled as she rolled onto her side to face him. She slid her hands along is shoulders as she looked him in the eyes. "I know I want too?" she asked with a laugh, pushing her hand against his shoulder to role him over onto his back, and she shifted under he blankets to sit across his lap. She pulled the edge of cloth up so it semi-covered her chest, and her other hand rested on his chest. "You can see inside my head, my Lord, is sleep really what's on my mind?" she asked him as she slid her hand across his chest until it went off the edge of his shoulder and rested on the blakets beside his head while she leaned forward. Silver hair fell over one shoulder and hung down around her face. The fire reflected off her hair like diamonds glittering around her face.

So maybe she was a little tired, but this was her enagement night, and she planned to thuroughly make the most of it. She lifted her her hand and traced a finger along his jaw, down his neck to his collar bone, and then in swirls down his chest before it rested there, palm flat. She admired the size of her hand, her body compared to his. She was small compared to him, and that made her smile. She was small, human, and not nearly as strong, but he considered her his equal in some way.

Vlad gave her a surprised smirk as she came up above him. He hadn't expected this, but then, she rarely did what he expected her to. Sure enough what she was really thinking about filtered through their link. The feeling was contagious. A swell of excitement rose up in him as she touched his chest, his body responding all too easily to her attention. "If this is a plot to wear me out, I warn you that I can go all night," he purred, stroking a hand along her warm neck.

Tenele looked down at him with a beautiful smile, her skin lightly flushed, her heart still beating fast and rythmicly. She glanced down at her hand and at the gold ring glittering in the fire light, the green stone shining brightly. She leaned down until she almost kissed him. "You can try," she told him with a wicked smile.

Vlad opened his mouth reflexively and lifted his neck from the blankets to kiss her. He wrapped his hands around her cheeks and pulled her in urgently against his mouth. Her words somehow turned him on like crazy. It was like there was something different inside him responding to her. Just touching her was sending him in loops, and somehow it all seemed doubly intense. Was this some perk to being a vampire that he'd just never had the occasion to test? Or maybe it was because they were already connected from earlier? He kissed her without reserve, as if he couldn't possibly get enough of her, and groaned quietly under his breath. He wanted her already. The need was practically burning through him. He let it ride through their link and press into her mind like an urgent request.

Tenele gasped for breath, pulling away for fear of losing herself. Her green eyes flashed to him, unable to reason why she suddenly felt completely overwelmed already. She blinked her eyes at him, the question visible in her green irises. She nibbled on his lips before kissing him again. She kissed her way down his neck, down his chest and abdomen, and even lower before sliding her body back up his. Her head was swimming, purely spinning in circles as she grew closer to joining with him, and when she did she nearly collapsed ontop of him, her hands grasping at the muscle of his shoulders, her hair spilling over across his chest and for a breif moment she was completely unable to tell whether she could carry on. She whispered his name, kissing her way briskly, softly across his chest before nuzzling his neck, bringing herself to continue what she'd started. Not about to lose this bet.

Vlad swallowed hard as his body reeled at her soft pressure around him. Her soft skin against his neck didn't leave him much leeway to recover his composure, so instead, he put his strong hands on her hips and guided her in time with his own firm movements. A low cry broke loose from his throat as the sensation practically drowned him.

The impulse to turn and bite her again loomed up inside him, made all the more intense by the impossibly heightened excitement he was feeling. It was harder than it should have been to fight the instinct to have at her. But in addition to the fact that he didn't want to leave her neck looking like a pincushion tomorrow, he also knew that she would be mentally with him for the ride if he took her blood, and he wasn't sure that was such a hot idea. Hot blood running down your throat might be a turn on for him, but he couldn't imagine a human would appreciate the experience. Of course, logic was becoming an increasingly fuzzy concept as wave after wave of lust broke over him. "Tenele," he gasped, turning his face away from hers just to be safe.

Tenele could feel the turmoil he was dealing with, could feel the longing and the need, and she was half tempted to allow him to have it. At the same time, she could feel his reluctance, and why he was so. She could understand why. Nearly delirious with the sensations threatening to seemingly steal her sanity, she whispered she was sorry and shifted to sit up over him, her hands running through her hair as she arched her back, turning her face into the side of her arm and moaning into the skin.

She wanted him to bite her now, just as much as he wanted to. Maybe that was why? His need was fueling her needs, and vice-versa. She doubled over at the feeling coursing through her, gripping the covers on either side of his head, her hair washing over them as sounds of ecstacy spilled from her lips.

She kissed his cheek, trailed kisses to his neck. Maybe it was his need to bite her that made her do it, she trailed her lips across his skin before biting down firmly.

Vlad groaned tightly as she bit down, his whole body stiffening with the sensation. "Ah, God," he panted into the pillow. He always loved when Tenele did this, but this time, it was also something more. Not just her teeth on his neck, but also the sensation of biting, the sensation he was getting from her. Did that mean he was technically getting off on biting his own neck? He didn't particularly care at the moment, he just wanted her to do it more. He wanted to be carried over the edge he was balancing so close to.

She bit his neck harder, knowing that’s what he wanted, because she could literally hear it screaming in her head. Tenele’s hands dragged across the blankets and gripped the arms that held her. Blinded by need, both his and hers. She moved against him with wild abandonment, completely taken over. She knew what he wanted, knew what he needed, and why he didn’t take it. “You don’t have to bite me on the neck,” she told him in a breath. There were plenty of places exposed to him that could be hid from the eyes of others. She rose up again, her hands holding his arms tighter. She was a goner, and she knew it. She would definitely lose the bet, for she didn’t even think she’d be able to move to role over in her sleep after this.

Vlad had held his composure through everything, but Tenele's open invitation was more than his frazzled nerves could take. He reached down and grabbed her wrist, pulling it away from its current task so that he could draw it forward and press his lips to the smooth underside of her arm. He almost bit her, but the thought of traumatizing his fiance the first night after proposing made him stop. He pressed his cheek to the beating pulse in her wrist and focused on every other sensation around him, the joining of their bodies, even the lingering pinch on his neck where she'd bitten him.

He stretched his power along the length of their connection, amplifying her feelings with his, and nothing had ever felt so good to him in his life. Her pulse still thundered in his ears, but he didn't need her blood to lose himself to this feeling. Not when he could feel her so close and his own climax building. He turned his head toward the blankets and clasped his hand tightly around her wrist, holding on for dear life as the sensation finally burst loose through him. He cried out, lost in the intensity of his release.

Tenele screamed as the feeling of his release and her own slammed into her. Her vision went dark, her head rolling back as she gasped for air. She felt faint, her head spinning, her mind unable to focus. She slumped against him, her head resting on his chest as she breathed heavily, trying to sort out the mass of chaos that was her mind. She rested to where she could hear heart, concentrating on that sound. She had never felt so one with him, not as she did now. Whether it was from a second joining, if that is what they had just experienced, or from the first one, she didn't care. She just knew that she had never felt more one with him as she did now. It made her sad... in a happy way.

She slid her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, nuzzling against him. “I nearly fainted,” muttered wearily. “I would say that is a good sign?” She laughed softly, tiredly. Completely and utterly wiped of all energy.

Vlad put his arms around her and held her tight, still buzzing with the aftershocks of what had just happened. "I think making my lover faint might be overachieving a little," he noted, his voice thick with sensation as he tried to get his words to work properly. His fingers traced light patterns on her back. The wall of exhaustion that was hitting him now was almost as surprising as the crazy joining they'd just had. This wasn't just 'tired' in any way that he knew it, it was human tired, maybe dog tired. He hardly even wanted to move his luxuriously numbed body from exactly where it lay. If he gave into it, presuming that Tenele did first, he would probably sleep like a log. He briefly considered how dangerous it would be if an enemy were to find them in this state, but of course, they were safe here. "Good thing we're not expecting any visitors. I'm not sure I'd even put on pants for the queen right now."
