Telanis looked at the vine, his expression looking somewhat spacey to cover up his anxiety. He had barely been able to climb down... He reached over his head and took hold of the cord, squeezed his fingers tightly around it and pulled himself up until his shoulders reached his knuckles. From there, he became uncertain. The strength was there; his body was far from weak, but the coordination, especially in his hands, wasn't developed yet. Imitating what Laya had done, but more slowly to avoid slipping again, he brought himself arm over arm to the top and climbed onto the grass, listening warily to the search party still passing nearby.

Telanis raised his head, eyes bright with certainty. "I'll do it. I have the fastest legs here," he said. The words were not a boast, but they were not burdened by humility, either.
"Besides," he added calmly, standing up, "I'm the one they're really looking for. I will meet you at the city gates." he said firmly.

Laya looked at him for a moment unsure to let him go by himself. "You promise?" she asked him. She didn't want him to go, he was the only thing keeping her from getting depressed again.
She needed him to come back. But, she knew he couldn't stay with her forever... he wouldn't like the human world. She didn't like the human world.
Her hollow gray eyes looked at him and waited for his promise.

"I will return to you," Telanis promised, his soft voice sincere, although there was a tint of melancholy in it as well. "Be safe! I'll see you soon," he told them all in his cheerful voice, standing up and taking off for where the search party could still be heard. He stumbled on a root before he'd made it four yards, his silver hair spilling around him as he glanced back at them sheepishly before he flashed out of sight between the trees.

Telanis's legs carried him at a running pace that lost its awkwardness once he got accustomed to it, and he soon flanked the search party. The villagers halted and looked toward the source of his loud footsteps racing through the rushl, signalling to each other. Sure enough, a moment later they caught sight of a human form slipping between the trees, and the chase was on.
Telanis raced away as he saw they'd taken the bait, doing the opposite of what he was used to: rather than take the routes most full of obstacles, low-lying branches and grasping roots, he sought the smoothest possible path to avoid tripping with his unfamiliar human legs. He could easily outrun them by transforming, but if he did it too soon, they might find their way back to the others before they reached safety. Remembering how easy it had been to get down things in comparison to getting back up with a human body, he led them to a steep hillside spotted with trees and ran down it, half-falling into some of the great trunks as he sprinted across the steep terrain.
The men were faster than him, of course, and he could hear them just behind as he raced toward the sound of rushing water. Up ahead, a sheer cliff dropped a formidable distance into a powerful river. With little time to consider his poor swimming skills in equiine, let alone human form, Telanis jumped off, winning astonished stares from the group that had nearly caught him as he plummeted into the water.

Lowight was a city that Laya remembered well. It was a place she had thought of running away too, hoping the Queen and her generosity might protect her from Kron... But, she never got the chance to see how that would have worked out... and she didn't think they would ever be able to protect her from him anyway.
The thought of getting back on a ship wasn't appealing. Neither was the thought of going back to Ongoreth, a place she swore never to return to. But, you always need to face you monsters, she guessed.
Laya walked still wearing the dress that was a bit to big for her since it belonged to the woman back in the village. She had her hands clasped in front of her as she walked and her eyes watched her ground as she passed over it.

Telanis hit the water like a sack of nails, plunging under the water with no bearings on his surroundings. Shocked by the sudden impact, his first instinct was to attempt to breathe, which was obviously a mistake. He struggled with his arms and legs, but made no headway toward the surface as the current hauled him along, so he finally closed his eyes and a glow surrounded him. When it faded, he had returned to his equiine form, his mane rushing around him as the current sucked him down.
The unicorn kicked violently toward the surface until his muzzle finally met sky and he released the pressure in his aching lungs. That was about all he had time for before he was pulled down again, but he was oriented toward shore now, and soon fought his way out of the current. Five very strenuous minutes later, the exhausted unicorn pulled his drenched form up onto the bank and brayed to get the water out of his lungs. Looking upstream, he saw with satisfaction no sign of the men who had chased him earlier.
When his composure returned, he remembered that he was to meet the others, and brought his swift legs into a gallop toward Lowight, soon coming within view.

OOC: Kron isn't really back she's seeing things thanks to Telanis's healing and Adonis's curse thingy... lol
Laya shivered slightly from a chill. It was a perfectly warm day, but she still felt a bit cold. Not only that but ever since they left Telanis she had been getting dizzy... and sore. It was very strange, but she guessed she was just coming down with a cold or something.
Laya continued to watch the ground, even though it was moving under her feet in ripples. She decided that staring at the ground was making her dizzy. As soon as she looked up into the crowed of people her eyes met icy blue orbs.
The face that was so familiar and haunted her dreams. Laya froze in her tracks, her eyes widening and the blood draining from her face. There Kron stood in the crowed of moving people, staring at her. Her heart was beating so loud and so fast she could hear it in her ears.
She could do nothing but stand there and stare in total shock and fear, she couldn't move or open her mouth to say anything, she was completely and utterly scared stiff.
The dizziness increased and she felt her knees buckle. Laya wasn't the type to faint... but she had a fever... and it made her see something more horrifing to her than anything in the world.

(OOC: You never know, I can always bring him back. MWAHAHAHAHAHA! You know, I might since she's in a group now...)
Tetsumaru had followed the group silently, lost in his thoughts, or lack thereof. He noticed that Laya seemed to be losing her stability, and caught her before anything happened. "Aru you okei?" he asked in his heavy accent.

OOC: The ultimate villan would return, like villans always do. There never really dead! Laya would so... go insane... Neko better watch out!
IC: Laya let her eyes flutter open. She had beads of sweat on her forhead from the fever and she was looking a bet pailer than usual. "He..." she tried to say, but she was to shocked... to scared to complete the sentence.
She looked back in the direction of where she had saw him. "He's gone! No... no... He's not alive..." She was panting now, and any more she would probably force herself to hyperventalate...
"Please... no..." Her eyes began to well up with tears.

Neko and Kratos looked over to their friend in distress and Neko ran over.
"What's wrong? Who's gone?" she asked, panicking over her friend. "Laya please!" She held her friend firmly in her arms, trying to calm her down. "Everything's okay, Telanis will come back and we'll go to Onegoreth. It's all gonna be fine."
Kratos watched as his sister matured instantly, in facination.
