Lore:(Mature)To fetch some clothes...

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

Vlad wound up sitting on the edge of the bed, looking out the window as night slowly fell over the town. The sickening feeling in his gut hadn't gone away. In fact, it was getting worse. He looked around the room and his eyes fell on Tenele's abandoned sword sitting on the floor. Idiot, how do you expect to protect yourself, he thought sourly. He picked up the weapon and turned it slowly over in his hands. Finally he stood up, not bothering with his shirt. He'd forgotten he wasn't wearing it. He just teleported to the roof, telling himself he needed air. He looked down over the small settlement and spotted Tenele almost immediately; she certainly hadn't gone very far. Who was that talking to her? He teleported to the next roof and quickly stepped back to stay out of their line of sight. Crouching down, he listened in on their conversation with a grim frown.

She went to walk away, but the bum got up quickly, setting his mug down. He grabbed her arm and she turned towards him. "No, don't leave!" he said, his breath spewing the nasty smell of ale as he backed her up against the wall.

"Let go of me," she warned, not in the mood at all to be molested, assaulted, or even talked to. Her eyes looked extremely sad, but the drunkard was to drunk to notice.

"Come on, we can talk..." he said, swaying drunkenly. "You know.... talk..." He lunged forward and kissed her roughly on the lips.

Tenele had enough. She lifted her knee between the mans legs and kicked him. He doubled over and she kicked him in the face, breaking his nose and knocking out a few teeth. However, she didn't stop there. When he fell to the ground she roughly kicked him three times in the gut.

She spat repeatedly, wiping the filth of his kiss from her lips.

"What is with this damn town!" she growled. "No one can keep there hands to themselves...."

The no life king shot tensely to his feet on the roof, flesh crawling as he watched the digusting male try to seduce Tenele. He almost threw her the sword, but....she didn't seem to need it. She could fight. She could take care of herself. Perhaps she didn't need him nearly as much as he tended to think. He watched her in silence, oddly unable to move.

She was about the leave the alley when another bum popped out of his crate and stood up. "You hurt Billy!" he squealed. For a homeless person he sheer was fat...

Tenele turned around and found the Billy had friends... Friends who were just as disgusting as Billy.

"Well, Billy was being a jackass," she said.

She needed a release from her pain. She wanted to kick some ass...

"Billy friend... you pay..."

Tenele, was to blind to notice she was clearly out numbered. She was to caught up in the emotions of heartache and the will to get rid of it.

She charged forward and punched on bum, then kicked the other as she spun and knocked the legs out from under the one she had punched. Getting to her feet she grabbed the mug of ale and splashed it into a third ones eyes before beating his head in with the metal and would mug.

The second, fourth, and fifth one came at her. She did a spin kick, knocking two backwards, but the fourth one grabbed her silver hair and pulled her around. He planted his fist into her face knocking her to the ground.

She grabbed her nose. He hadn't broken it... it was just bleed. He went to kick her, but she dodged the leg and punched upwards, between his legs.

Another one grabbed her and punched her again, hitting her in the eye this time, sending her to the ground again. This time it took her a while to get back up.

"This must happen a lot," one said with a laugh. You have bruises on you before I kicked your ass."

Tenele groaned and sat up, staringing through one good eye and a half closed one. "You haven't kicked my ass yet, bitch," she said with a grin, grabbed the mug and through it full force at his forhead, nocking him out.

She was a amazed she actually hit him with one of her eyes tempararily out of order. However, distracted by that she didn't notice the final one coming next to her. He planted his foot into her abdomen.

Vlad was stunned by how aggressive Tenele was being. He'd never seen her so mad. It must have been her conversation with him. Every blow that landed on her felt like it hit him. He couldn't watch her take any more. He took the sword he'd been holding and threw it downward. It entered behind the man's neck and emerged at the center of his chest, killing him instantly. He fell sideways off of Tenele's stomach and landed with a thunk on the ground.

At least she had the sword now. Vlad looked down at her thoughtfully for a long moment, then turned away and disappeared. He reappeared on the opposite roof of the inn and sat down, one arm perched on his knee. He would sit there and listen for her return. And then what, he had no idea.

Tenele took the edge of her shirt and wiped her nose and bleeding mouth. She hadn't really a clue at the moment what had killed the man until she realized it was her sword.

She grabbed it roughly. 'I don't need his help,' she thought sadly as she hobbled sorely out of the alley. She tore a peice of the cloth off of her shirt and pressed it to her nose, trying to stop the bleeding.

She decided it was stupid to walk around, but she wasn't going to go into that room. If she had too she would sleep on the bar.

She went inside the inn, took a seat and looked at the bar tender.

"Did..." he said and stopped. "Did that vampire do that too you?"

Tenele looked at him. In a way he had. Since it was her anger and sadness that drove her to her recklessness.

"No..." she finally replied. "Just met up with a few rough people."

Vlad heard Tenele come back into the inn and tried to relax. He waited a few minutes, then ported to their room. She wasn't there. Maybe she had stayed downstairs to get something. He sat down again, waiting. It was nerve-racking, but he oddly didn't feel it was beneath him to wait for her. She would come back. This was within the scope of his pride. What he was more concerned about was the vague feeling in the back of his head that maybe she wasn't coming back.

"I need a drink," she said and looked at the bartender.

He handed her a glass of the strongest licker.

"No charge," he said and put the bottle down next to the glass.

After several minutes it surprised all that sat around her that she had actually managed to down half of the bottle.

"I'll need another room," she said slapping the table as she gulped liquir that burned her throat. She didn't seem to care. She just wnated to forget she ever had met Vladimir. Trying to foget she had met him only made her remember how she had met him.

That mady her remember the bad times they had together.

That made her remember the good times.

That made her remember how she enjoyed his company.

That made her remember how he protected her.

That made tears slide down her cheeks.

She tried to swallow, but her throat was just to closed.

The barkeeper nodded sympathetically to his apparently depressed tenant. "Here," he said, digging a key out of his pocket and sliding it across the counter to her. "It's up the stairs, on the opposite end of the hallway from your old room. Half off." He almost wanted to give it to her for free, but her unpleasant companion had caused a good deal of disturbance earlier, and it was still her responsibility.

Vlad crossed his arms and eyed the door impatiently. He was bored, but he wasn't about to leave when she might come up at any moment. He stared at the wooden surface. She'd come back.

Tenele's shoes echoed down the hall until she reached the door opposit her old room. She glanced at the door Vlad was behind and sighed for a moment, unlocking her own door.

All her possessions were inside with Vlad so she would need to get them eventually. She decided she would go early the next morning to try and get them while he was sleeping. She didn't need any more uncomfortable moments with him. Especially ones filled with indifference and sexual tension. Those couldn't possibly make for a good combination.

Once inside she stripped stark naked and took a bath. After taking a bath and drying the young half-elf pulled her lean body under the covers of the bed, still stark naked, and fell into the pillow to sleep.

Vlad finally got too impatient to sit in the room any longer. There was no way she was still downstairs, and he didn't even consider that she would go to another room. After the meal he'd had that day, he had way too much energy to sit still, especially with this much on his mind. Still, she must have somehow left without him noticing. He ported back out to the roof, where it was fairly windy and a storm seemed to be on its way. A few drops of rain were falling, but nothing major yet. He stared out over the streets for any sign of Tenele, but they were abandoned. Finally it started raining, but he didn't particularly want to return to the room, so he watched for Tenele to return. She had to return.

Morning came and it was as dreary as the feelings she felt. It still looked dark outside with how black the clouds were. She pulled herself to a sitting position, wincing as she felt sore muscles tighten in her abdomen.

"Shouldn't have been so stupid," she thought grimly as she pulled her clothes on. She glanced in the mirror and to her relief noticed that the black eye wasn't that bad, and her nose hadn't bled in the night. She left the room, quietly opening the door to Vlad's room. She didn't want to wake him if he was a sleep.

She looked in the room and Vlad wasn't there. Had he gone downstairs? She grabbed her cloak and pulled it on over her head. She through her brown leather pack over her shoulder and walked down the hall, flipping putting the bag of coins on the innkeeper/bartender's counter.

"Thanks," she said softly and left the inn.

Vlad wasn't downstairs. He must have left.

So much for carring for her well being. Maybe the only reason he saved her from Sekushi was because he didn't want Sekushi to have what he planned on getting? Or maybe Vlad viewed her as a possession? Or maybe Vlad just didn't like the thought of Sekushi bettering him?

Whatever it was... He didn't save her because he cared.

Why did he continue to ask if Sekushi raped her? Maybe he was hoping she was still a virgin or something? Did she look THAT innocent?

She sighed again. She didn't understand the method to his madness.

Vlad was quite weary of his perch by the time the sun began rising. Soggy and bored, he wondered what had happened to Tenele to keep her this long.

No, that was just wishful thinking. He'd felt it in his gut for some time now, that she wasn't coming back. Why? Because he didn't love her (of course not!)?

But why was it that when he was losing control in that love hotel, surrounded by the uninvited flesh of women he'd never met against his will, the strongest thing racing through his mind was guilt? Not lust, or even anger, but guilt and fear, and Tenele's disgusted expression when she learned what he had done.

She hadn't made that face at him for what happened in the brothel....but she had last night. Why? And why couldn't he stop seeing that look in her eyes... more than anything, the memory of that look told him she wouldn't come back. What should he do, then?

It wasn't as though he needed her. He could find his way on his own. Eventually he would return to Sinead, since he had to. Other maidens would be there. They would respond to his charms easily, as they always did.

Vlad was suddenly pissed with himself, and he didn't even know why. He stood up abruptly and teleported back into the room. It was empty, as before. No, he realized, it was different. Tenele's things were gone. Why had she? Frustrated, he ran out into the hallway and searched the floor, then went down to where the inkeeper was and eyed him disdainfully. "Where is the silver-haired woman?" he demanded.

The innkeeper blinked surprised and pointed out the door. "She just left a second ago..." he muttered as he stared at Vlad.

Tenele was walking down the street. It wasn't hard to spot her since she wasn't practically the only one walking in the middle of pooring rain. The wind gust violently, and there was no use keeping the hood over her head. It kept getting blown off anyway.

She trugged along through the mud, heading towards the gate that would take her out of the evil and sadistically twisted town.

You should have expected this. He was a vampire... Incapable of love or even feelings. Ididn't need for him to say that he loved me... I didn't expect him to. I just wanted to know if he cared for me, thought of me as something more than just a insect. I just wanted him to care, she thought grimly and looked a head at the gates coming into view through the misting pooring rain.

"I just want you to care," she whispered soflty.

Vlad slammed the inn door open and ran out into the street, squinting into the rain and looking toward the gates. A blurry form was up there, though even his vision couldn't do much about rain. Teleportation also got a bit trickier when there was water in the air, so he burst into a run on foot. When he was about 100 feet away, he called out "Tenele!"
