Adonis tore to his feet as the sounds of beast and girl running toward the cave caught his delicate ears. Lowering his head warily, he faced the entrance and waited. Sure enough, Neko came running in, a pair of wolves running two seconds behind. What really startled him, though, was that Neko had called his name. He was certain he hadn't told her who he was, but she'd called for the person she'd known as Adonis. Was she attached to him in some way? The Adonis she'd met had tried to kill her with a slow and painful curse. Why would she cry to him now? He wondered oddly if he was jealous of himself.
Instead, he turned and kicked at the wolf, letting out a low bray that clearly didn't spook the wolves, but it did seem to make them pause and reconsider their enemy. Adonis kicked again, holding them back while Neko tugged Kratos further into the cave. If it became necessary, Adonis could use black magic to take out the wolves. He knew he was fooling himself; it was obviously necessary, he was just putting off the inevitable. He had grown to fear the after-effects of his magic. Maybe that was why he'd accepted Eosan so willingly. He had a feeling they had some things in common. Wait, now he was thinking like a human, as if this group was his responsibility, his companions. That annoyed him, even angered him.
He grunted as hungry teeth scraped at one of his kicking legs. Shooting his head up, he called on his power and focused. The obsidian stone on his forehead glowed, or rather, seemed to absorb all the light in the cavern. He felt his heart beat faster, racing, and knew the black magic was pulling through him. His anger grew stronger as alarm coupled with it, and he looked back at the wolves. That was when he whited out. Everything seemed to stop for several seconds. When he regained his senses, he spun to see what was happening. The wolves were both writhing on the ground, like some invisible hand had pinned them to the stone by their throats. Piteous whines came from their throats as the life squeezed out of them.
Distantly, Adonis could hear more approaching from outside, but he just stared at the dying animals on the ground, his nostrils flaring tensely. The whites of his eyes showed against his black coat as he felt that familiar agony that wasn't so much physical pain as a sense of acute loss. A piece of himself given up to something unredeemable.

It was like all the light was sucked out of the area. She couldn't see anything, but she knew something was happening with the way the wolves were whining in pain. Then, just as quickly as the light had gone out, it came back. Wide-eyed, Neko look upon the writhing bodies of the wolves who had followed her here, and automatically, her gaze swept to the heaving form of the dark horse.
She did not know what to make of the situation.

(OOC: Sorry for the delay, folks. My internet crashed spectacularly and it took me awhile to get it back.)
Eosan crashed through the underbrush, His mind desperately shuffling through his library of spells for one he could use to fend off the wolves long enough for Neko to make it back to the cave. However, as he broke through into the clearing, he came upon the initial pair of beasts whimpering in pain on the forest floor, with that miraculous horse standing over them victoriously. The fight was not over yet, however. He could hear more charging through the trees.
"Back to the cave!" He shouted urgently. He charged toward the cave mouth, where Neko was trying desperately to pull her brother into the cave. He stopped to grab one of his arms and help her pull him back. "Quickly! I have an idea!"

OOC: Oh thank god! xD I was getting worried that you may have left entirely (it has happen y'know). Me and Soran had come up with a story board in the arts section just for this moment. If you wanna check it out to see what we have planned it's in the Arts section called "Adonis and Neko collab storyboard" Obviously, there's still more planning to do but we want you to know what's been plotting in our minds xD
IC:
Neko gasped in relief upon seeing Eosan rush out from the trees. Whatever he had planned, she'd follow. They escaped death once only to be killed by wolves? Never. Kratos and she will live to avenge their town and family. They need to find Telanis and Laya again... they need to survive.
With Eosan's help, Neko and he managed to drag Kratos far enough into the cave to keep him well hidden from the wolves. "Get yourself in here horse!" she yelled to Adonis, her voice raw with fear.

Adonis moved two hooves backward, almost taking a step. The animals on the ground had stopped struggling; they were clearly dead. Still, he felt frozen to the spot. He heard more animals running toward the cave mouth, and that helped clear his mind at least somewhat. He backed away from the dead wolves, then finally turned and ran into the recesses of the cave where the others had dragged Kratos.
OOC: We hate to go on without you Eosan, but we need to get this moving. Our characters have to meet up with two others and play a roll in the war. You can totally come back, we really would welcome you back, but we have to move on... Sorry. ^_^;
IC:
They ran deeper into the cave, unable to see and unable to notice how larger the cave was becoming. They were going underground, and Neko felt the decline.
"I think we're going underground!" she yelled, starting to a halt. Holding her brother up from the ground in the darkness Neko tried to see. She could barely make out the rocks. "Maybe we should stop, before we get lost." She laid Kratos down gently and took a step away from him towards where she sensed Adonis to be. A crumbling sound was faint under them.
"Can you sense any--" Suddenly the ground crumbled beneath her feet. She tried to turn back to her brother but she was already falling, so were the others. Rock and debris fell around her as she tumbled down into a deeper cavern, and she slammed into darkness, separated from her brother and Eosan... and probably the horse, Adonis.

Adonis was making his way cautiously toward the sounds of Neko's voice when the ground shuddered under his hooves. The next thing he knew, there was nothing but air below him. Bits of dust and pebbles sprayed into his face as he tumbled downward into an area too dark to even know how far he was falling. He landed on his rear left leg with a grunt of pain and tumbled onto his side.
With the wind knocked out of him, it took a few moments to really grasp where he was. The air smelled dank and old. He was lying on uneven stone. He sneezed dust from his nose and tried moving his head, only to find himself pressed up again a boulder. Climbing to his feet, he felt more walls around him. There was a distant sound of wolves howling, a sound so far off and muffled that it made Adonis dizzy to think about it. The realization that he must have fallen some distance reminded him of his sore rear leg. It only took a small movement to know it was broken. Perfect. He was going to have to find a way up, though being blind and injured didn't help much.
Where were the others? Had they fallen down with him? Whatever, he couldn't afford to worry about them right now. One thing was for sure, though; he wasn't doing any climbing in this body. Climbing required hands. Closing his eyes, he let his magic brighten the cave to a fierce glow, changing his form back to a man's. When the change was through, the glow faded, and he stood nude against the darkness of the rocks. He leaned on them heavily for support as the pain in his human leg fired up.
He suddenly yelped as the loose stones under his feet gave way and sent him tumbling back onto the ground. "Damn!" he cursed thickly into the musky air.

Neko was groggy as she woke up from having been knocked out after the fall. She was sore everywhere, and she was pretty sure she had a bruised rib or two. She felt blood drying from her temple. That explains the headache at least. She groaned as she got up, feeling her vision spinning but it made no different in the dimly lit...place she was in.
"Kra...tos..." where was her brother? Where was Eosan? ...The horse? A rustle behind her alerted her that she wasn't alone here, something she was grateful for. Wondering who it was whom may have fallen with her, Neko slowly turned on her crouched legs to look behind her.
"Are you al--?" Seeing who she saw now, even in the bad light and with a terrible headache, she still saw exactly who she was looking at, identifying him immediately. But... he was dead, wasn't he?

Adonis jerked around as he heard a voice behind him. He was about to use black magic to kill whatever fool was intruding on him, but paused when he recognized Neko in the musky light. He stared at her then, not sure at all what to say. Shit, he didn't even have any clothes. Unlike his brother, who was still innocent of human sexuality, Adonis was keenly aware of his nudity. He breathed a curse and ducked down to one knee, his leg blocking her view of his masculine waist. He winced as his injured leg hit the stone. Whatever words he'd been thinking of saying blew through his mind like a breeze had stolen them. That might be for the best; it was possible she wouldn't even recognize him down here.
Neko stared in disbelief. Was this a trick of the light? She watched him kneel down suddenly and then wince.
"Wha-? How-?..." She was at loss for words for a moment. Just a moment. Then her short temper kicked in. "YOU! You were--! Like Telanis--! Why--!? You jerk! You--you let me believe--! Geh--" She sputtered angrily and then tensed her muscles and pounced on him, not with murder in hers eyes, but anger that he tricked them, tricked her. She thought he was dead for so long... and yet, maybe she actually knew...? She didn't know or understand, she only knew that she was angry.
She sat on top of him and growled and half-heartedly beat at his chest, completely ignoring his nude state. Presently, tears snuck out from her eyes and fell onto his chest.

Adonis felt her rage in his mind, and his eyes widened as she pounced on him. He bit back a groan and squinted at her through the dusty air as she began pummeling his chest. The hits weren't enough to do serious damage, but Adonis wasn't in a great mood either. His cover was blown, and he was trapped in a pit with this human who seemed utterly undaunted by his nudity. He managed to finally catch her fists, holding her off him. "Thanks for the carrots," he scowled, not sure why he suddenly wanted to piss her off more.
Neko growled out, "You jerk!" She struggled against his hands on her wrists, trying to get at him again. Her hips wriggling against his. (lol had to) "I take it back! Do you know, those carrots had mold on them!" She also wanted to hurt him in any way she could, but her jibe held no effect, she herself knew that. "I can't believe you! Have you been lying all this time? Who are you, really?"

Adonis's temper cooled slightly as he sensed hurt as much as anger growing in her voice. He knew he'd hurt her on purpose, but it still always seemed like a shock to him when he caused someone pain. The sensation of her body rubbing against his distracting him sharply from that line of thought, though. The contact tightened things low in his body and brought out sensations he knew he shouldn't be feeling, but he'd experienced them through his human soulmate too often to be blind to what they meant. The momentary arousa twisted abruptly into sickening nausea, and suddenly there was nothing he wanted more than to get her off his body.
"I am Telanis's brother. The one who will save him from all of you." That last word was said with true disdain. He waved his arm out in an all-encompassing gesture that seemed to indicate where their waists met, as if that explained everything he hated about humans and their treacherous ways.

Her eyes widen in shock. Telanis' brother?...Wait, save him from them?!
"What do you mean you--you--ASSHOLE!!" she cried then noticed his gesture. It never occurred to her where she was on his body, just like it never hit her that he was naked. Getting off him quickly and huddling back against the rocky wall that led up to the high hole they had fell from, Neko hugged herself. "It's all you're fault..." she said meekly. "If you weren't naked...didn't make me so mad...I wouldn't have..." she trailed off, hugging her legs to her chest.

As soon as he was free of her, Adonis scrambled back as well, choking on nausea and the splitting pain in his leg. "I made you mad on purpose," he said in a strained voice. It was the closest to an apology she was going to get, he thought, still feeling the memory of her body on top of him. There was very little room in the area they'd both fallen to, so try as they might, they couldn't get more than a few feet apart. With a decisive movement, he rose to his feet. "Are you hurt? If you aren't, start climbing," he said flatly, moving to the wall that seemed least steep as if to begin climbing.
