(Lore) Recovering

The shores of Ighten are beautiful beaches with white sand, palm trees, shacks and houses with people that live along it. It's also an easy way for Arken people to enter Ighten, since it is more or less unguarded. Sometimes wrecked ships wash ashore.

Neko nodded and went to sit down next to Laya. But the moment she sat, she wished she hadn't. Her bottom was sore from the ant bites she hadn't felt, and sitting on them hurt and itched at the same time. So she stood up again and walked around trying to resist the urge to scratch.

Her mind was now off focus of the handsome man. "It's not fair." she added.

Laya yelped and jumped up again as some ants she had missed bit down on her neck and managed to crawl down her dress and bit on her stomach and had crawled up her dress to bite on her legs.

She said a soft curse and resisted the urge to strip all her clothes of to find the culprits.

"You say that confidently, but how much do you really understand about this situation?" the man said, not turning from his work, "I understand that you are outsiders, but you haven't seen what takes place here on a daily basis. Take the family that sheltered you, for instance. Their youngest son, Thomas, came down with the plague early this morning. Each time we hunt the unicorn and fail, these incidents grow worse in number. Now that he's been angered, we have no choice but to finish what we started. If there were some way to talk to him, we would, but there's no way that creature would come here willingly," he said solemnly.

"Anyway, here," he said in a lighter note, rising from the table and bringing the mortar to the two women. "This should help. I'll be sitting outside the door if you need anything," he said, turning neko's wrist over with one hand and placing the bowl in her palm before turning to go outside.

Neko's face burned. 'H-He touched me!!!' her mind screamed. "Th-thanks." she managed and waited until he was outside to slap herself. After that was done she statred to strip off her clothes, wary of all the closed and curtained windows.

"Let's fix ourselves up then get outside." Neko said to Laya as she put the bowl on the floor and started rubbing the motar into her bitten skin.

Laya stared at Neko and turned around as the woman began to strip. She lifted up her sleeve where Kron's mark was and hesitantly looked behind her. "I... I..." She said and stayed there. "I really don't need it..." she said scratching idly with out thinking.

Neko stopped momentarily, then looked at herself, then looked at Laya. Sighing, she stood up. "Laya, you do, otherwise you'll be miserable from the scratches... If... you're embarassed...you could.. wait outside or in another room until I finish up...?"

Laya didn't turn around. It wasn't that she was emberassed. It was the fact she didn't know who would recognise the symble on her arm or if someone would ask about it. It was a symble of slavery or bondage she guessed... But, what if Neko knew what it was?

"I..." She would just not take off her clothes. She sat on the edge of the couch and pulled her skirt up until it was just above her thigh and began to rub the cream on.

Neko sighed again and nodded. Getting naked in front of the same gender never bothered her. Heck, it probably wouldn't bother her still if it was the man who was--- Neko mentally slapped herself and commanded herself to focus on her task at hand. She sat down on the floor gingerly, and began rubbing the cream on her body.

Laya lowered the skirt of her dress once she was finished and slowly undid the buttons to the top, lowering it off her shoulders slightly and rubbing her neck, accidently letting the sleeve of the side that held the mark slide down as did the rest of her top. She held it to her chest, rubbing the cream on one arm and then the other, noticing what she had down and pulling her top back on, butting it up again.

Neko never noticed. She was too intent on her task and keeping her mind off of the man. but she made a mental note to ask him his name later.

Laya sighed in relief as Neko said nothing and she took it as a hint that the woman had not noticed the mark that looked very much like a tatoo but was really more like a scar from cuts.

She rubbed the cream on her hands and then decided that that was all that needed to be touched up until she felt a slight itching on her stomach that she had forgotten because she had been so busy trying to cover up the mark. She ignored it and decided that she didn't have to put any on there.

When Neko finished she put her clothes back on and turned to Laya. "Ready?" she asked Laya.

Laya looked up and blinked. "For what?" she asked, not knowing that something was supposed to happen afterwards. She pulled her feet up and her knees to her chest again.

Neko blinked for a second then laughed. "Haha, to go outside silly!" But she shrugged and went to the door and opened it. "We're done in here, Sir." she told the man.

The man looked at her curiously from his seat beside the door, a black stone hung from a band across his forehead reflecting in the late morning light. "I see. Are you hungry?" he asked.
