LORE: The Reluctant Damsel and the Dysfunctional Hero

The city closest to the border. It is a city filled with traveling people and inns that hold many of the roughest people in Ighten. It's a good place to find weapons and an even better place to find trouble.

Vlad crossed his arms thoughtfully. "That one?" he said innocently, looking upward. The bucket overturned at once, drenching the half elf while Vlad apparently disappeared. "Find me when you're dressed more appropriately," his amused voice echoed darkly through the room as the empty basin found its way into her hands.

Tenele gasped at the shock of cold water running down her head and over her body. She held the water basin in a tight grip, her face shocked and surprised and angry all at once.

She took several calming deep breaths that didn't work at all.

"Find me when you're dressed more appropriately," his amused voice echoed darkly through the room as the empty basin found its way into her hands.

"Find you?" she yelled. "When I'm dressed more appropriately? I haven't got any more damn clothes!" She pushed her silver hair from her face and narrowed her eyes. "When I find you you damn vampire..."

A folded towel socked Tenele in the side of the head. Other than that, Vlad was gone. He reformed on the roof above the inn and stretched his arms over his head (more of a gesture than a true stretch; his immortal state tended to eliminate such things as muscle stiffness). With a self-satisfied grin, he looked down at the city streets, busy with the midday activities, and then headed off to find a nice dark haunt where he could vent some frustration.

Tenele took the towel and dried herself off as best she could. The good thing about it was most of her front was dry, but her back was soaked and stuck to her in the most aggrivating way.

Good thing for undershirts though...

Tenele shook her hair and pushed it off her shoulders, then stormed from the room in an angry and vengful way that made people jump out of her way as she came storming down the steps and across the common room.

Tenele ran outside quickly, looking around for the vampire that she wanted to hit so badly. Then again she probably diserved what she got since she did make fun of it. She didn't mean to! It was just too funny...

"Vladimir!" she called out, turning in circles, but could find the vampire no where.

"Very well," Kitanai said. "Lead on." He offered the position of leader only to the woman that had married one of his former Nibu Wolves and not to the ex-ronin that was following them and Kyosuke knew it. For that reason the feminine looking samurai fell in step behind them, though he made sure to stay on guard in case anything would try and attack them.

Shinobu nodded her head and led on. It wasn't long at all that they were coming up in veiw of the inn at the end to a very long road that was lined with shops.

There was a silver haired woman standing out in the middle of the road, glancing around wildly with a rather angry look as if she was looking for someone that she wanted to hit.

"Lady Tenele? Is something wrong?" Shinobu asked curiously, coming up to the woman.

Tenele turned towards them. She noticed that the Shogun was finally there and her brother would probably be leaving soon. Which meant, if she ever found Vlad, they would be leaving soon as well...

"Oh, just looking for Vladimir... I need to hit him..." she said, smiling sweetly but with a hint off dangerous annoyance.

(OOC: Kyosuke adding a few posts that I couldn't stuff in anywhere else.)

Tenele turned to the Shogun with a smile and bowed her head to him. "I see they found you alive and well," she said calmly to him. "I'm sorry I didn't return... I had a life of an old friend to save..."

Kitanai turned to the Lady Tenele and nodded his head in understanding. "It is fine," he replied. "A life of a friend is very important after all, and we have yet to plan a time of departure for the border."

"I can't go to the Border with you," Tenele told him. "It seems Queen Sinead has other plans for Vladimir and I... I can't really say. But, we have to leave as soon as possible. In fact, as soon as I find him I'll be going in there to tell Talon and the others."

The shogun paused and took a moment to consider her words. Kitanai looked somewhat surprised when he heard that Vladmir was in town, but did not show anything. "Very well, but I must still travel to the Border in order to fulfill my promise with your queen. Would you be able to provide me with a guide?"

Tenele smiled and pointed at the in. "I don't know if he's the best, but he does know his way around. His name is Talon Raider, unfortunately he's my brother."

Kitanai nodded his head. The apparent distaste Tenele held her brother in was noticed by him, but he chose not to comment on it. "I will approach him regarding this matter later. I presume that he is one of your companions Shinobu?"

Shinobu looked up at Kitanai and nodded gently. "Yes, he was the one who led us here. He's very good as a guide I think..." She didn't understand why Tenele hated her brother so...

Kitanai turned his attention back to Tenele. "Very well then," he said. "You are free to go on the next mission that Queen Sinead wishes for you to go on."

"Thank you," Tenele said. She didn't realize that she needed his permission to go on another mission when it was he who decided to pretened to be someone else to fool her into letting him go along. "We might meet up with you if our mission ends quickly."

"Thank you," Ylia said to the girl who had brought them their tea. "Well, everything's rare to me," she laughed lightly as her golden hair fell behind her back and shoulders. "I'm not a world traveler, unlike yourself?" she posed as a question.

She really knew little about Talon.

Talon smiled. "Well, I haven't traveled all over the world..." he said. "But, I've traveled enough... I traveled mostly to see what Ighten was like... and because Tenele didn't seem to want me around at all..."

"How sad," she replied as she sat down her tea. "I mean, it does seem sad that two people as beautiful and unique as you two are do not get along. Do mind my asking why?"

Talon smiled. "Many things..." he said, glancing down at the table.

"Our mother was murdered by Shea... When the time came for a select few of Queen's Maidens and Knights were given the chance to go to Arken for an assassination attempt on the Queen Tenele was chosen... I didn't want her to go. I knew she would be killed. Tenele was driven to much by vengence, and that would get her captured and tortured or just killed immediatly. So I used my connections to get her name taken off the list and her status as a Maiden dropped one slot..."

Talon glanced up. "I know what I did was wrong... But, I lost my mother and my father... I couldn't loose Tenele.... So now she hates me. She could be one of the top ranking Queen's Maidens if I wouldn't have interfered, but she most likely would have died along with the rest of them that went."

After several hours of evil fun on the town, Vlad finally headed back toward the hotel, finally back at a normal energy level. He walked casually back into view of the building, where he spotted Tenele, Shinobu, Kyosuke and an older man he didn't recognize. He regarded them with vague interest as he approached.

"There you are!" Tenele shouted and manuvered around the Shogun, Shinobu, and Kyosuke to get to him.

Shinobu looked at the Shogun and smiled slightly, her eyes falling on Kyosuke for a longer moment. "Come on... They will all be inside waiting on us..."

Shinobu turned and continued into the inn, spotting Talon and Yilia having a conversation about something.

"Sir Talon," she said, coming up behind them.

Talon turned around and stood up once he noticed Shinobu and the others.

"Lady Shinobu, Sir Kyosuke..." he greeted, then his eyes fell on the Shogun. "My lord," he said bowing out of respect.

"You missed me that much?" Vlad mocked with a possessed smile as he moved forward to meet Tenele.

Tenele looked at Vlad as he got closer, stopping in her tracks to allow him to come to her. "You pored water on my head," she said calmly. strangly calm.

"And for that I'm sorry. I assure you I had every intention of aiming for your bosom, but it's a very difficult target to hit," Vlad said calmly, smirking at her.
