Bejei heard the concern voice of Mia, and he stopped. He turned around to face her, but he couldn't look directly into her eyes. He just stared at her without saying a word. He already apologized too much, and that's all he could really do.

Eventually his voice came back, allowing him to speak to her. "I don't know if you can help. I have to figure this out on my own, and you'll end up getting hurt in the process."

He gradually moved his eyes to meet hers. "I don't exactly know what's going on with me. All I know is... I keep hearing this voice. I know how crazy that sounds, but... I can't explain it."

Mia looked at him, unsure of how to reply. She didn't know if Bejei was crazy or not... She didn't know what to think. She walked closer to him until she was standing in front of him.

"Bejei, I don't know what to tell you about these voices... but I know deep inside that what you did to me in that clearing wasn't you... Your eyes were different... colder... Your touch was rough... aggressive... Your eyes are warm to me, and your touch is gentle towards me... I know this... I have to think that this voice is whats making you do these things... Maybe something has possessed you... Maybe Keifer's spirit has possessed you or something... I don't know... but we'll find out.... I don't want to think your crazy... and I won't until I find out for sure..."

She was afriad to touch him, afraid she might set off the demon or voice... whatever it was. She couldn't help it. She moved stiffly towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck, giving him a warm hug and moving back.

Bejei allowed Mia's words to register into him, although what she said didn't make any sense at all. It's still confusing, but he figured the only one who might be able to help him recall his lost memories is Mia. Maybe, if he helped him find out what's happening to him then he could find a way to get rid of the voice once and for all.

He stared blankly at Mia as she hugged him and back away right afterwards. It seemed she was afraid of what he's becoming, but he didn't blame her for feeling that way. It's on natural to act that way after finding out your boyfriend is crazy.

"Ok Mia. What you said might be the closest thing to be true so I will need your help. But right now... I feel a little exhausted." Bejei quickly fell onto one knee while he breathed heavily. "I don't know, but I just woke up, and I'm so tired. I might need to laid down for a bit."

Mia knelt down next to him and looped her arm in his to help him up. She helped him into her tent and led him towards her bed of pillows. "Here," she told him gently. "Rest here..."

She yawned herself, but she was probably just tired from sleeping too much. She brought him a blanket, saying nothing more about the voice until he was rested. For all she knew it could be the curse driving him mad... It could be anything. "Sleep."

Bejei allowed Mia to support him all the way back to her tent. He moved his arm from around her and fell onto her bed of pillows. He didn't understand why he was so exhausted. He nearly slept for more than ten hours. It must be something else getting at him.

"Thank you Mia." He whispered to her.

He grabbed the blanket tightly while he shut his eyes.

Mia went to the back of her tent where she had been laying out on three overstuffed pillows and she leid back, taking up her book and reading again.

After a while Mia couldn't stand doing nothing. It was probably around three in the morning and she had nothing to do. Everyone was a sleep and she might as well be.

She curled up on the overstuffed pillow, staring at Bejei's sleeping form. He looked so peaceful in his sleep...

She blinked several times trying to keep her eyes over to watch him as he slept... but soon she closed her eyes and her breathing evened. She was sleeping lightly, not deep enough to not notice movement or talking.

Bejei fell fast asleep as he closed his eyes. He slowly drifted off into a dream state while he slept comfortably on Mia's pillow bed. Everything seemed so peaceful until he heard the voice again. It came faintly at first, but soon it was loud and clear as day.

He struggled in his dream to fight off the voice, but on the outside world, he was sweating profusely, and his muscles tensed. He began to move around and say incoherent words.

Mia's eyes opened slightly at the rustling sounds and the whispering. Bejei seemed to be having a nightmare... She sat up, pulling her robe around her tighter as she walked through the dark tent and knelt down next to the bed of pillows.

She didn't know if she should wake him, remembering the last time she tried to wake him up and he almost snapped her neck...

She decided she would and reached out with one of her hands, shaking him gently.

Bejei's eyes shot opened as he felt someone shake him. He immediately wrapped his arms around Mia and placed his head on her shoulder without even knowing that he's doing it. His body was shaking as he held onto Mia with a firm grip.

"Voice..." He whispered into her ears like he was delirious. "The voice..."

Mia almost panicked when he pulled her to him with his arms around her. She was afraid he would want to be intimate again and this time she would have to say no. Instead it seemed he needed comfort, so Mia placed her hand on his head and gently brushed his hair with her fingers.

"Its okay, Bejei..." she said gently, almost as if he were child. She thought for a moment. "Why don't you tell me what the voice has been saying to you?"

Bejei finally noticed what happened, and what he's doing. He began to loosen his grip on Mia, but he still clinged to her like a frighten child who just had a nightmare. Actually, it's exactly what was happening.

"The voice... it won't let me tell you." He replied shortly afterwards. "It said that if I tell you then it will kill you." He hazel eyes looked extremely afraid, and the once cool and confident Bejei had been reduce to nothing more than a scare little boy.

Mia continued to brush his hair. She knew it had a calming affect on people, and so she continued to do it, hoping it would calm him down.

"Bejei, he can't kill me... He's just a voice. Tell me what the voice is saying Bejei... I need it to help you."

She laid down with him, holding him still and brushing his hair with her hands. She was worried for him. Afraid for him...

Bejei calmed down a little everytime Mia stroked his hair. He felt safe in her arms, but he knew it was suppose to the opposite. He's suppose to be the one cradling her in his arms, telling her everything is going to be ok, but she's was the one doing it. He felt a little embarrassed and ashame at himself.

"It's saying that you and it are one. You have something that belongs to it." He answered her but with more control in his voice than before. "He showed me what will happen..." He stopped... as he held her tighter.

Mia stared off at the wall of the tent as she listened to Bejei. A strange hollow feeling appeared in her gut as if what he was saying she already knew. She didn't know though, so she didn't understand the cause of the hollow feeling.

She had something it wanted? She had Bejei, was that what it meant? She didn't understand.

"Bejei," Mia began and swallowed. "What did it show you? What do I have?"

Bejei stared into Mia's eyes as he tried to recall what the evil spirit showed him, but nothing came. The memory of what the voice showed him was not coming to him, and it's like it had been erased from his mind or it never took place.

"Mia... I don't know. I didn't get a chance to see it show me since I woke up." He closed his eyes for a moment while continuing. "I'm not sure what you have that he wants."

Bejei's loosened his grip on Mia as his cool and calm exterior returned. He smiled at Mia like everything he told he never happened. He gazed into her beautiful eyes while he held her close.
