Lore: It Lies Within

Mia tried to think of something else as she felt Bejei's weight press down on her. She wanted nothing more than to just drift off to sleep while he placated himself, but it was nearly impossible to not pay attention to every single little detail of what was happening to her.

How long could she take this? How long could she be this person? All for Bejei's sake? Could she honestly take being battered by Bolrock for the rest of her life? Mia blinked the tears from her eyes and clutched at the pillow next to her head with both her hands. She was thankful that it was dark, so Bolrock could not see how unhappy she was.

The minutes wore on, and she was finding it increasingly harder to ignore her own body, or Bolrock's. She hated him, more than she had hated anything in the world, but she loved Bejei more than anything in the world.

After having his way with his queen, Bolrock finished what he intended to do to her. He wanted to instill fear and terror in her so she would never rebel against any of his demands. He was confident that everything was going according to plan. Now there was no one else that could stop him from completing his dream. He would set about creating his conquest after the marriage.

He slid off Mia and lay beside her. He was exhausted from violating her, and he knew she did not enjoy it since he was not Bejei. No matter, she would not have a choice after he completed the ritual and alter her into an obedient servant who would do whatever his whims required of her. Soon was all he thought about as he stared at her in the dark.

“Did you enjoy it Mia? I haven’t done that for so long now.” Bolrock whispered to her as he edged closer.

Mia had nothing to say to reply to him. She couldn't bring herself to tell him yes, since it would have been a complete and utter lie. She wiped her eyes and rolled over onto her side, her back facing him. She pulled the pillow down under her head and hugged it there.

Her thoughts swam in so many directions as she tried to ignore the heat from the presence behind her. She realized towards the end of his actions that she could not go on like this. She could not indure it for ever. Was her love for Bejei strong enough to be tormented for the rest of her life? Eventually she'd break, it was only a matter of time. Then, what?

She'd run.

She loved Bejei, but one day... if Bolrock was not stopped, Mia would run from him. She had too, it was for her own sanity and her own survival. "I gave you want you wanted," Mia whispered. "Please, let Bejei out. Let me speak to him." Let him hold me, she thought bitterly.

[Bejei]

Bolrock was not surprised by Mia’s reaction. He now had the power to control her, and he would make her obey his every whims. If he allow her to rebel then all his plans would be ruin. He had to maintain control over her emotions since he knew Bejei was her weakness. He knew she would not be able to harm the man she loved so dearly. By occupying Bejei’s body, he would manipulate her in any way possible without fear of being harm.

He thought about Mia’s statement. Bejei… why would he let her see him? His counterpart was already falling into a deep slumber and soon there would be no way of stopping him from completely taking over Bejei’s body. Maybe, he should have some sympathy for Mia and allow her to see her weak excuse for a man.

“Do you really want to see your precious Bejei so badly? What would you do for me? If you want to see him for one last time then proclaim your loyalty to me and give yourself to my cause as my queen. You will bear the burden of surrogating my children and bringing forth the destruction of the world.” Bolrock replied. “If you are willing to submit to me and do this one little thing then I will let you see Bejei. If you do not agree then you will never see him again.”

Mia sat up, holding the cloth to her chest. Her eyes fixated on Bejei, or rather on Bolrock, and she gave him a hard stair. "You can't get rid of him forever," she hissed to him. "I'll never agree to anything you say if you take him away from me." Her voice was low and cold, and it was every bit the truth. Mia cleched her teeth as she stared down at him with utter hatred. "If you take him away from me, you might as well kill me now or find someone else to be your queen. As long as Bejei is in you there is something holding me here. The moment he is gone forever, you can kiss me good-bye."

[Bejei]

Bolrock chuckled at Mia’s response. Did she actually believe she could escape him? It was humorous to thing so, and he pondered that thought for a moment as he stared at her with those fierce cold eyes. He knew she couldn’t resist his charm, and after he got rid of Bejei forever then he would truly gain his true power, the power to conquer to the world.

“My little queen, you do not understand. As long as Bejei is still living within me then there is still need of him. As long as I still have use for him then he is alive…” He paused as he reached over and brushed the hair from Mia’s face. “I will let you see him during the wedding if you so please. Remember, you promise to do something for me then I will allow you to see him. I am generous after all…” His cold words faded as he caressed her cheek.

Mia's eyes never left him as the wheels turned in her head. "I want to see him during the wedding, and the wedding night," she told him, bartaring for Bejei's time. This wasn't right. This wasn't how it should be. She wanted more than anything to figure out a way to save Bejei from this. He just couldn't go quietly into the night, he should fight. Maybe he was? Maybe he couldn't? If he couldn't... then she would have to fight for him. "I'll be your queen, and give you what you want, if you let my see Bejei when I ask. The only reason I'm doing any of this is for his sake. Don't think I'm playing when I say if you end his existance, I'll end mine." Her eyes spoke the truth. She would not be his prisoner if Bejei was not there for her to see.

[Bejei]

Bolrock didn’t say a word after listening to Mia bargain with him. He simply smiled and gave her a wink before he turned his back to her. He needed some rest since tomorrow was going to be a big day for her and him.

“We’ll see what happens,” was all he uttered before he fell asleep. He didn’t fear Mia’s idle threats since he knew her love for Bejei would not allow her own demise. He would just have to wait and see.

Mia couldn't fall a sleep at first, but eventually exhaustion pulled her to those dark depths she feared to enter. When morning came it was hard to tell. A storm had come in the night, and the clouds hung low and dark. Rain was constant, and it dripped off the eaves outside her window in a steady fast chorus. Eventually her biological clock told her she needed to get up, but the darkness outside was tricking her, and she kept telling herself she had more time to sleep. Eventually she couldn't fall a sleep again, and the heat of the naked body next to her only reminded her of her dangerous situation.

She scooted to the edge of the bed, holding the blankets to her and she reached across for her robe, having to stretch her fingers far to touch the fabric. It came in her grasp, and she drew it to her, sitting up to slip her arms through it.

Bolrock awoke to the thudding sound of rain on the rooftop off Mia’s parents’ house. He didn’t dream at all or maybe just didn’t recall it. Anyway, it was morning and his big day had finally come. He was going to wed Mia and take her as his queen then his reign of the world would begin.

He stood up and got dressed as he stared down at Mia. A sadistic smile formed on his lips before he reached over to tap her on the shoulder. He knew she wasn’t sleeping like she put on.

“Get up Mia, it’s time.” He whispered to her as he took one glance outside. “The rain won’t bother use from getting married today. What do you say?”

Mia stood and pulled the robe around her tighter. She glanced back at him with her miss-matched eyes. "Why did you choose me?" she asked him coldly as she walked to her closet and opened the door. She pulled a pale green dress from the closet and dropped the robe. She dressed quickly, so Borlock could not get much pleasure from seeing her body. She wanted to gouge his eyes out, but then again it would be gouging Bejei's out as well.

[Bejei]

"I chose you because of your love for Bejei." Bolrock didn't hesitate to answer Mia so swiftly and bluntly. "I don't know what you see in that pathetic excuse for a man, but it's great news for me. I have a body and queen to start my new life."

He strode to the door and exit before saying any other word. He made his way outside and waited for Mia. He didn't know how the ceremony was to be done so he left it all up to her. However, once the wedding was over then his real plans would take shape.

IC: Mia smoothed the soft fabric of her white wedding gown down the front. Her hands and finger spreading out as she shifted them down her midriff and across her hips. Her mother had pulled her hair back and up, and strands of pearl white hung down in front of her golden skin. Her miss-matched eyes looked into the mirror, and though she knew she should be happy about this day, she was not.

How could anyone be happy that they were marrying a man that they didn’t love. She loved Bejei, and wanted him… but the man who would stand next to her on this day supposed to be so rich with love and happiness was not her Bejei. It was a monster who took her body and used it as a child would use a toy.

“Something bothering you?” her mother asked, almost sounding genuinely concerned. Almost.

“I’m fine,” she replied softly as her mother put a red rose in her hair. “Nervous.”

Mia’s mother smiled. “That’s to be expected.”

“How long before?”

“A few more minutes. You’re father will be here any second, and I’m sure Bejei is already waiting eagerly at the alter.”

Mia swallowed hard as she looked back at the mirror and at the woman so finely dressed. A bound slave. Everything in her was suddenly screaming for her to run, but if she ran what would happen to Bejei?

Should she truly sacrifice herself for him? Was he even trying to save her from the beast that was taking over him. Was he even putting up any effort? She could picture him screaming inside, roaring with fury, and she hoped that he was trying. It made it easier for her to do what she was about to do. If he wasn’t fighting for her, why should she sacrifice to keep him alive?

Because she loved him.

Love, it seemed, was going to be her undoing.
