Tenele didn't even hear Vlad. She held Crackers by the shoulders as she shook him, waves of dizziness coming over her since she hadn't eaten in almost a week.
"You... you sold me to that bastard..." she muttered breathlessly, using all her energy to shake him. "You sold me to him!!!" She felt her knees start to buckle, but she held on to Dalan and shook him nonetheless.

"I'm sorry," Crackers said, allowing her to shake him, "but if you'd been in my position you would have done the same thing." Behind them, Lydia looked down at the ground regretfully.
Vlad observed them in silence. His expression gave little away as to what he was thinking, but he didn't show any clear reaction to what he was hearing.

Tenele was a bit too angry to pay any attention to Crackers. Maybe it was because of what had happened to her. Maybe it was because she still felt Sekushi's breath on her skin.
Tenele reared back and hit him. "We would have gotten her out for you..."
Tenele straightened, suddenly feeling out of place... Feeling like a hundred eyes were on her. She opened her mouth to say something, but she closed her mouth and turned, walking towards the porch in front of the inn...

Vlad's eyes followed Tenele as she walked toward the inn. He made no move to follow her. Crackers watched her, and finally tried to run after her. His body didn't move. He stared down at his legs in shock.
"Now now, it's rude to walk away when someone's talking to you," Vlad said darkly when Tenele was out of earshot.
Crackers looked up at the vampire dreadingly. "I wasn't talking with you. This is between me and her," he said stiffly.
"Young lady, I recommend you join Maiden Girl over there," Vlad said, his voice cold and calm as he walked up to Crackers. "You have three seconds to tell me why I shouldn't make sidewalk art with your skull."
"You can't do that here. There are people watching," Crackers said excitedly.
Vlad's hand shot to his throat and lifted him up off the ground. A crimson glow showed through his calm visage now, demonic eyes boring into the man. "Artistic liscence," he snarled. Long, sharp claws extended slowly from his fingertips, boring into the flesh of Crackers' neck.
"Please, stop!" Lydia trembled, unable to look away. Even after what her brother had done...he was still her brother. "Stop!"

Tenele heard Lydia scream for Vlad to stop. She stopped, just short of the door. She looked back over her shoulder , her hands clasped in front of her.
She took a shaky breath and turned around. She wasn't sure what she was going back for, to save the man or pull Lydia away.
"Lady," Tenele said softly, since she was the first one she reached.
"Come on, he's not worth it. He sold you to them pigs, he's not worth you're pitty, your respect, your love..." Tenele said softly.
"He's my brother!" Lydia said and ran up to Vlad, pulling on his arms. "Please, please don't kill him."

Unfortunately for Lydia, Vlad was about ten times as pissed as he appeared, and not about to restrain his fury for her sake. A pulse of energy shot from his skin and propelled her backward several yards before dropping her in the dirt. Vlad didn't even look back at her. His glowing eyes were set on Crackers. He'd ordered this fool to watch after Tenele, and not only had he disobeyed him, but he'd dared to sell her to the worst house in town. Did he really thinkhe would tolerate it? A mere human?
"Die," he said hatefully into the man's face. Crackers groaned as Vlad's claws dug through his neck, and then Vlad's fist drove into his chest, breaking through ribs and crushing his heart. He threw Crackers to the side disdainfully and the man landed with a hard thumk on the pavement, the life fading out of his eyes.
"How could you!" screamed Lydia, running to her brother's body.
Vlad turned his glare on her and she fell silent, anger and sadness shining in her eyes. He turned away from the corpse and walked back toward the inn, his eyes daring the nervous onlookers to get in his way.

Tenele's eyes widened as she watch Vlad's hand rip into Cracker's chest like he had down Sekushi. She looked at Lydia and felt sorry for her. Though she didn't care much for Talon, she didn't know what she would do if someone killed him...
She blinked away the tears that formed in her eyes. She could understand why Vlad killed him... Because Vlad had intrusted Dalan.
She grabbed Vlad's hand when he got close and held it with both hands as she led him towards the door. She swallowed, hoping no more trouble would come for them tonight. She hoped whoever was behind that door would keep there drunken comments to themselves...

The fire in Vlad's eyes dimmed just slightly as Tenele's hands closed gently around his bloodsoaked palm, but he didn't look at her. When they entered the inn, the patrons fell silent and stared at them, since they both had blood on their clothes. Vlad tossed them a disdainful glance and turned for the stairs, pulling Tenele with him away from their stares and up to the room they'd rented. He led her in and closed the door behind her, and then there was silence. Vlad wanted to calm down and think clearly, but thinking about calming down didn't help much, so he went on feeling agitated. He turned to look at Tenele, glancing over her as if she'd been the one he just strangled.

Tenele moved uncomfortable under his up and down stare. She looked over at the bath room with the hot shower that awaited if she wanted it.
"Uh... you can... eh... take a shower if you want to..." she said softly, moving to sit her tired form on one of the twin beds.b
She glanced up at him and then down. She didn't know what it was alright to talk about. She didn't want his anger to be directed at her. Like that one time...
She had thought he was going to kill her...

Vlad looked at Tenele thoughtfully, a frown growing on his face. She seemed afraid of him. He still didn't know exactly what had happened to her before he'd gotten there. Remembering the things that had been done to him in that context made him more irate, so he stopped. It was unusual for him to be this heated up over something. It made him crosser to know that she seemed uncomfortable around him, though he knew that wasn't her fault. Maybe he should cool down before going near her again.
"I think I will take that shower," he said and turned for the bathroom. He glanced back at her. "Don't leave the room," he added, saying it more like a request than a command. Most humans he would just order around because it was natural that he see them as inferior, but Tenele was above that. He didn't treat her like the others. He almost sighed as he went into the bathroom, recalling as an afterthought that he hated water. He bent and turned on the faucet, then stepped into the cold stream, not caring that it wasn't hot yet. He disliked it equally either way, but the sensation did seem to take his mind off his anger.

Tenele sat with her back against the headboard She sat with her legs under her, her arms wrapped around her stomach.
She decided she would take a shower after Vlad...
She felt a bit uncomfortable in the dim room lit by two candles. She felt uneasy... Afraid. Only because the last person Vlad killed that she was afraid off came back to haunt her.
What if it would happen again with Sekushi... No... But... maybe?

Vlad finally turned the water off after a looong 4 minutes and let out a long breath. He shook his head to dry his hair and stepped out of the tub, pulling a towel around his waist. The torn pants he'd been wearing were covered in blood, dirt and god knows what else from his stay at the brothel, and he opted not to put them back on. He opened the door back into the main room and found Tenele sitting on the bed. His eyes were normal again now, and the aggressive aura that had been around him was gone. He walked to the bed and sat down opposite her with one leg folded sideways and the other knee drawn up so he could lean on it. It wasn't a very modest pose wearing just a towel, but his shin blocked anything obscene from her view.
"Are you really okay, maiden girl?" he asked her steadily.

Tenele looked up at him. "Hmm? Oh... I'm fine..." she said softly. "I'm going to take a shower now," she said softly, climbing off the bed. She walking into the room. However, odd of Tenele she didn't close the door. She stepped into the shower, close the shower curtain and minutes later her hand dropped Vlad's tunic out of the shower and it cut on.
She didn't want to close the door, the thought of Sekushi being another Adrian stayed in her mind.
She took a long shower, most of the time spent trying to scrub the feeling of Sekushi off her. She turned the shower off and reached a shiny hand out and pulled a towel off the rack. She wrapped dried off and wrapped it around her. She stepped out, glancing up at Vlad.

Vlad glanced away as Tenele shrugged off his question and left the room to shower, a little put out that his attempt to be nice had been snubbed. He shrugged and flung himself back on the bed, lying upside down with one arm hanging off the side. He didn't even feel inspired to play a prank on the bathing half elf in the next room, listening to the sound of water running off her skin and into the tub. He found it odd that he wanted to go in after her. Of course he didn't, considering what she (may have?) just been through. What had she just been through? He wanted to know, but he didn't want to ask. When she emerged from the bathroom, he tilted his chin up to look at her, his head upside down from her perspective. Actually, his pose and curious expression looked downright comical at that angle, though he couldn't see himself so he didn't know it.
