Lore: Destroy all that Binds
Mizuki had just received Soran cut off message and she responded by screaming, but she was carefull not to pound the barrier. She was infuriated, and desparate. If she lost him...
Mizuki collapsed to her knees and watched helplessly as Soran was trapped by Reya and the ground glowed beneath. Mizuki couldn't even guess at what was happening.
"What is that?" Mayn asked her slowly. "Right now... what are you doing?"
Mizuki looked at Mayn blankly, showing the girl exactly how badly her Mistress was killing her by doing this. "I have seer blood in me," Mizuki answered less interested in the subject then she would've been years ago. "What does she have to gain?" she asked Mayn like she would know. "What does she gain by killing him, the man I love? Who is she?" She could hear as clearly as Soran what Reya was saying.

"A seer..." Mayn murmured thoughtfully, and a light suddenly came in her eyes. "Are you connected to that one?" she gestured out toward Soran, then seemed to freeze in mid-thought. She stared at the runes appearing beneath him in green light. "What the..." she murmured, apparently recognizing the spell, but not understanding why it was being used.

Rai hit the wall pretty hard, and her already aching body hurt worst. she slid to the floor, lying on her stomach, her head turned watching the blurry events.
She didn't push herself up, too weak to do that. Poor Soran, he had been feeling so much pain... Her breathing was painful, so she decided to hold her breath until she couldn't anymore and then breath, then repeat it until it didn't hurt quiet as bad.
She wished she could help more, but the world aorund her was beginning to fade off. I hate fainting... I hate it. I hate all of this... I wish it would just... die.

Soran, can you fight her? Mizuki tried vainly to give him some kind of hope. Since Mayn looked surprised at the glowing from from Reya and Soran, Mizuki assumed the worst and that Mayn was clueless of everything. mizuki looked at the barrier that held them again. It shocked Mayn... it'd be stupid to try something on it, but she still touched it. It zapped her finger and she immediantly flinched away. It was resistant and both deadly, had she thrown her entire body into it she would've shocked herself to death.
Her mind felt Rai's awakening and Mizuki tore herself away from the scene to go to her again.
"I'm sorry sweety." she sobbed.

Siren sat on her bum, still shocked from the impact and painful shooting through her wings when she collided against the wall. When the shock wore off, she called out angrily, "They're fragile, bitch!" even though she understood that Reya wouldn't hear her. She looked over at the groaning form of Rai near her and, since Mayn hadn't done anything since she lost grip of the whip, hence breaking the magical hold the whip had been exerting, she choose to go to Rai instead of worry about the girl and the whip.
"Rai, honey, are you ok?" She asked, sliding up beside her and wrapping her arms around the girl, who looked like she was having trouble breathing.

Soran flexed his muscles as hard as he could, but he wasn't budging. He could only hang there in midair, staring in Reya's dark blue eyes and trying to figure her out. No, I can't move. But she's doing...something. I have a bad feeling, like something's trying to get inside me.
Mayn stared, fascinated and baffled. "That kind of rune is only used to break sealing magics. Strong ones," she said.
"You're not making sense," Soran said to Reya stiffly. "If it's something I've done, now or...or in the past, it shouldn't concern those three. Let them go, and I'll negotiate."
Reya let out a short, mirthless laugh. "Unfortunately, the solution's not that easy. Nothing can change until I take your life," she said, leaning in dangerously close to his face. Soran stared at her warily.

Rai didn't say anything. She just stared straight a head with half closed eyes. Her palms dripping blood from an unseen wound. She clenched her fists, causing the blood to drip through her fingers. A tear slid down her cheek.
Finally she looked up at Siren. She didn't say anything, but slowly unclenched her fists and showed her bloody hands to Siren.

Jhaptal dealt with the students in the best way he knew how to, he drew some of his throwing stars from his knife and brandished the armblades he wore. Of course, the new students, sensing no magic from him, decided not to take him seriously and continued to try and bug him to get Reya.
'Brats!' he screamed mentally, many of the layers of his tightly wound discipline slowing peeling off and his eyes narrowing. He got even more annoyed when he heard the chanting for a basic fireball spell and immediately he flicked a throwing star out, burying it in the young sorcerer's leg, breaking off his chants with his screaming. "I may not have any magic," he warned "But if your the kind of magic user that needs any time to prepare for your spells, I guarantee you won't pull it off."
Some of them backed off, but a few others decided to persist, knowing that he wouldn't kill them unless he wanted to bring the wrath of both Reya and several powerful Arken families upon them. At that point, the annoyed ninja decided to use his whole body as a threat.
For no apparent reason the students were immediately swept up in a suffocating feeling of fear. Of course, they couldn't figure out what he was doing, since he knew no magic. Jhaptal however, had decided to use one of his favorite little tricks, one that worked well against weaker willed people. Every small motion he had shifted to screamed of the possibility of an attack, from the killing glint that was visible in his eyes to the way some of his muscles flexed to even the way he stood. He doubted this trick would work on any of Soran's friends or the elf himself, but it was... fun to use it on brats like these.
Once he felt that they were sufficiently cowed by his presence, he turned and left for the dungeons, walking in on the sight of Soran standing on a glowing rune and a barrier in place on one side of the room. He figured that she had trapped some intruders behind it, though he wasn't sure who the intruders were.

Mizuki repeated what Mayn had said in her head, transfering it to Soran. I don't even know what that means, Soran! Did she put some spell over you? She couldn't figure anything out. If this was some other time she would've tried to pry into Reya's mind, but Mizuki knew Reya was powerful and didn't risk it.
Mizuki saw Jhaptal out of the corner of her eye and in her anger she leapt at him. But she was shocked by the barrier and she fell to the ground at Mayn's feet.
"You bastard." she still cursed through her body was racked with electrified pain. "You brought him here you sonvuabitch!" she hated him, she hated Reya, and she hated herself for still not being able to help.

Soran! Did she put some spell over you?
Soran thought about the strange energy he felt pulsing through him, trying to decide the answer. He'd encountered magic before, and it always repulsed him or flowed at him. But this was different in a way he couldn't explain. It was in him.
"It seems like you still don't know me, Soran," Reya said, resting her face into the crevice between his sleek neck and shoulder. "I think I'm almost glad. Your back looks awful," she said with a strange regret, her fingers stroking his bare scars. She touched up and down the length of his back, and slid her hand around his waist so that it cupped over the shorter scar on his abdomen.
Soran narrowed his eyes, unable to move as a bad feeling wove through him. He wanted her hand off that scar. That scar had always bothered him, with a weaker version of the unexplained dread that was filling him now. "Who are you?" he almost whispered.
And then the thought struck him. Panic and doubt accompanied it as it shot from his mind to Mizuki's. A powerful magic user. Someone who knew him before. This person held the keys to everything he'd forgotten, everything he'd lost. That was what he felt in the pit of his stomach.

Over cursing off Jhaptal, Mizuki sat up and stared back at Reya and Soran. It made her sick the way she touched him... as if she knew him intimantly. Mizuki felt both rage and jealousy, both were a bad combination here. She couldn't think past what she was seeing and it was tearing at her. She had to wrap her arms around her legs and clutch herself tightly in order to prevent herself from flinging into the barrier again.
She came to the same realization Soran did at the same time. But then, maybe she had known all along that somewhere out there someone knew him, and would come claim him again.
