"I got you something warm and comfortable," Kyosuke says, ever the pragmatist. "...But it's quite pretty, yes." It's a dress of some sort, obviously made in the Ighten style. Even if they could find some Ongoreth styled clothing here, it's expensive, and he's not going to put something like that on the doctor's tab. The samurai presents the dress he purchased to Shinobu first, almost looking for approval, before helping her dress in it.

Shinobu smiles kindly at him. "It is pretty," she tells him as her eyes admire the deep blue color. It is very comfortable, Shinobu thinks as he fastens the last of the laces in the back. The sleeves are long belled around her forearms. The fabric is soft. When he's dressed her she goes takes the few short steps to the bed. She pulled back the covers and slipped in slowly, moving towards the back of the alcove. "Its a small bed... but will you lay with me while I sleep?"

Kyosuke's actually still fairly dirty, so it looks like the doctor's desire to keep his sheets clean won't be granted. He can't turn a request from Shinobu down, especially not now. With another smile, he nods, helping her into the bed... and idly wishing he was more willing to buy her something more comfortable to sleep in. At least the dress didn't look uncomfortable. After she's settled, he slides in with her, hugging her against him.

Shinobu wrinkles her nose when she rests her head against him. "You stink," she choked with a tired laugh. She ignores the smell though and focuses on the comfort in his touch. It isn't long before she's sleeping, heavily at that. So heavy, that any movement would probably go unnoticed.

Kyosuke lightly strokes Shinobu's soft hair, though it probably isn't as well kept as it used to be with their days in the wilderness, and before long she's asleep. He stays there for a while, just gazing at her sleeping face, until he decides to slide out of the bed and walk back outside.

Greg puffed on his pipe as he caught site of Kyosuke emerging from the house. He exhaled a wave of smoke. "Ssquiet," he muttered so fast the words sounded like some thing from another language. "Even the animals know a black cloud is comin'."
"I got a shower out back if you want to wash up," he told Kyosuke as he rose to his feet. "I'm gonna empty that washin' bin."

"Thanks," Kyosuke says, getting up to find the shower. Although he didn't mean to, he ends up taking a while longer than he meant to, scrubbing off another 2 days worth of travel off his skin. About half an hour later, he steps out, dressed in his own set of Ighten clothing, and heads back into the house.

Shinobu slept soundly for two days, waking every now and then to eat or drink. Greg gave his couch up to Kyosuke to sleep on, and every morning the man unwrapped her bandages and changed out the substance he concocted to put over her wounds. He stayed outside mostly, coming in to offer them lunch or dinner.
Greg stood up slowly, putting his hand to her forehead. "Fever is gone," he muttered. "She's going to be weak for a while until she builds back up her strength... but she's definitely out of the clear. We caught it in time, spared her having to have her arm amputated."

Kyosuke refused at first, not wanting to take up all the space in the good doctor's living space. But with the doctor's insistence, and pointing out that sharing a bed with the recovering Shinobu might not be the best thing for her recovery, the samurai gave in. It came with a great relief, when Shinobu's fever broke, and the samurai smiled his first genuine smile in days.
With the doctor's latest examination, done, he turns to him. "I... obviously don't have any money on me." The doctor had known that before, from their story of escape. "But is there anything I can do to repay you for this?"

Greg looked at Kyosuke and scratched under his chin. "Ah," he muttered. "I usually take gold... But, if you ain't got any." He sat down in the chair and stared into the fire. "I am running short on some herbs. But, I don't know if I should send you after them if you'll be taking the lady. Its no place for a woman to go."

Kyosuke gives Greg a look like he's crazy. In other situations, he might be up for taking Shinobu, but she's recovering from an infection that nearly killed her. "If you wouldn't mind, I would prefer if she stayed here. How long would it take to collect these herbs?" He'll have a talk with Shinobu about it later, of course, but they need to pay for the treatment some way.

"Well," Greg muttered, scratching his beard again. "See, when I was a young man it took me a good two weeks, but that was in the spring... and their wasn't the bloody Arken Army to worry about. I'd estimate a good three to four week trip depending on how fast ya move and how much trouble ya get into. See, ya probably don't want to go that route... Ah, hmm..." He seemed to be thinking. "Ya see, its north, near across the border mind you... And the herbs grow year round in a cave up there. Guess their more fungus than herb, but no one likes it when you tell them yer smearing fungus on their infection." He laughed a little too loud.

Kyosuke looks rather amused. "I won't tell Shinobu," he replies. More likely than not he had to smear a lot of the stuff on her wounds. He frowns a little at the news of a four week journey though. Shinobu wasn't completely well yet, but if he was going to do something like that, he'd be better off leaving as quickly as possible. "Let me talk to Shinobu about it first," he finally replies. He wants to talk it over with her first.

Greg grins. "Of course, I wouldn't force you to just run off and now tell her. I'm good at mending arms, terrible with hearts," he told Kyosuke before going to his usual perch on the front porch.
About an hour later Shinobu woke up with a lazy groan, her eyes fluttering to look around the room. "Hmmmm..." she muttered. "I am going to get terribly lazy from this."

"You're still recovering, enjoy it while you can," Kyosuke says, grinning again. "Though, you might get a little more time to rest after that. We don't have any way to pay for the treatment, but Greg needs some uh... herbs. I was thinking about going to grab some for him, but it'll take four weeks."
