Elena turned slowly and looked at him with a noble and dignified aura around her. She tilted her head slightly, looking him over. She smiled darkly and with that dark smile said, "Oh, but my husband... I am changing."

She turned again to walk away...

Airen watched as she turned her back on him again. He suddenly felt alone and powerless. He wouldn't try and stop her. It was no use. If anything he would wind up hurting her again.

He was silent as his knees hit the ground. "I'm sorry," he whispered softly. "I don't know who I am anymore or what has happened to me." his voice a little louder.

A moment of silence passed and he continued,"That's why I'm leaving. Before I wind up hurting you as I did before." He stood back up and made his way to her side. "When I find myself, I will find you again." he told her as he kissed her lips softly.

Airen didn't know where he would go but knew he couldn't stay here. His conscience was in a constant battle here of late and he had to leave this place or he may lose himself to it forever.

Elena looked at him as he went to leave. She knew he needed to do this, and would not try and stop him. She would only offer him words of comfort and good bye. "I love you," she said. "I really do." She turned her head away. "I hope you recover what is left of the man I love. I hope that you find him. "

Airen could feel the darkness coming back over him as she turned her head away, but he fought it back. "I will find him..." he said, "And then I will find you again my love."

With those words, he walked out the door. Before it closed behind him he said, "Please be cautious of Luther, my dear. I do want a wife when I return."

With that thought he stopped in front of the door. 'Could he really leave her here with him?' he turned around to face the closed door 'He may try and hurt her?'

Elena looked at her husband. "If that is what you wish, I will be cautious. I will watching my back, my husband." Elena smiled softly, though she felt no need to watch her back. He was her son... he would never hurt her. Would he?

Why would he hurt her?

She had done nothing to him.

He was her son.

"I will be cautious..." Airen heard before the door closed behind him. Their was now a steel wall between him and his wife. He stared at the closed door then turned back to the road.

It looked long and dreary. Airen knew it was going to be a tough trip to find himself again, but he knew it was something he had to do. He wiped his forehead and took a step forward. He didn't know where he would or even where to begin. He decided he would just walk and go back towards Ighten where he started his new life and met Elena.

"Well..." he mumbled to himself as he began walking down the dark road ahead. "Here I go..."

Elena walked to the balcony that overlooked the courtyard. She through open the doors and stepped out, feeling the hot stone beneath her bare feet. The wind gusted strongly, blowing her golden curly hair around. Her violet eyes gazed down at the form of her husband walking in the distance. She held her head high, proud. For the first time as she looked down at him she noticed what a strong man had was. Was it because of the darker form, or was this the man she had married?

She looked at him with pride. He would do well, no matter who he was. She just wanted the man she loved back. Was that so wrong?

"May the Gods be with you," she whispered. "For my love will always."

Airen felt a cold chill blow over him. He turned around and saw his love standing on the balcony over looking him. "I will return a changed man," he promised quietly. He waved to her once more and turned back to the trail.

She waved back. She wanted him to stay. She wanted him to be with her, but she wanted him. Not the man he had become. If this was the only way that she could get her husband back, then so be it. She was a strong woman now, surely she could handle him being gone for a while. If not, she would deal with it.

Its hard to fight yourself, and he would need to concentrate on that. However, she vowed, that whatever side won out, she would love him nonetheless. She would always love him.

"I'll be with you," she said as the wind carried her voice. It sounded like hollow voices whispering in the wind as the leaves rolled across the ground of his path. "Even though I'm not beside you." She had learned a bit of magic in her time in Arroes. She smiled at his form in the distance.

Airen felt the presence again and heard the faint voice of his wife roll over him. He didn't stop this time though. He continued down the dark path that he alone must travel.

He didn't know what lay ahead or even if it was good. He did promise himself he would fight the evil as best he could and embrace the good as he would embrace Elena.

Elena moved back inside the palace, closing he door behind her as she did so. So this was it? How long would he be gone... She hoped not long. She not spent much time apart from him, and would miss the feel of his warm body lying next to her in bed. She would miss his presence, but knew this was all for a good cause.

Suddenly she was incredibly lonely.

Airen walked down the evil streets of Arroes. He truly hated this city even though he seemed to find his strength here. It had changed him and everything he stood for.

He saw a tall dark figure approaching. He knew who it was and really didn't want to see or speak to him right now. It was Seryth.

He darted down a nearby ally way and made his way down the back streets. He's not sure if he saw him. Though a good leader and strong warrior. He was not the brightest person,uh creature, Airen knew.

Airen pulled the hood of his dark cloak over his head and came back to the street. He turned back towards his palace and saw Seryth a ways down. He had managed to miss him but it seemed Seryth was heading back to the palace to finish speaking with him. Airen didn't sweat it too much. He didn't expect a pleasant welcome when he returned. He only hoped Elena stayed smart and safe.

Seryth approached the palace door and knocked on it firmly.

The door opened and a man in a suit stood there. "Yes, sir?" the butler asked as he appraised the demon with out so much as a flinch. He had seen this one many times. "If you are looking for Lord Airen, he has gone on a trip. Lady Elena is in the library if you would like to see her."

Seryth grinned with green and black rotted teeth. "A trip," he said to himself. "Yes I would like to speak to the lady."

He walked by the man ignoring he was there and the butler closed the door behind him and went about his own business.

Seryth pushed open the library doors and saw Elena sitting in the back corner. "My lady," he said mockingly as he walked towards her.

Elena put down the book she had been looking over and rose to her feet quickly, though making sure to not give a hint to the fact she was startled and discomforted. "What do you want?" she asked him, turning to place a book back on the shelf.
