Vlad sucked at Tenele's skin, her blood running down his throat in a hot line. He could taste her excitement and even her fear, and her terror only excited him more. He took the energy, more than he could possibly hold, and let it spill into her, bringing them both higher into the feeling until it began to resemble something similar to the peak they had shared together earlier that day. Resembled, but it was also so different. There was a sensation like his body would burst into flame, coupled with a throbbing arousal that pushed him close to the edge. He was so conscious of her lifeforce now that it was like they were joined in one body, which might have explained why he felt so warm. He wondered if she felt this too, or if it was just him. He'd never done this with a human before, it was still new.

Tenele shuddered at the vast feeling that was filling her to the point it touched very possible nerve. Her senses were driven while and everywhere his body laid against her felt amazingly good. His teeth in her neck felt amazingly wonderful. She clutched at him tighter, her mouth opening but nothing came out. She was holding back. She was trying not to be too loud. There was something builing inside of her that wanted to let out of cry of sheer pleasure, but she was afraid to. "Gods..." She squeezed her eyes shut, unable to hold onto the control she did have left. She was falling into a pit of nothing but bliss, and it terrorfied her as much as intranced her.

She gasped, the cry ready to burst forth from her lips. As it did so she subconciously brought her teeth down on Vlad's neck. Not enough to draw blood, but pretty damn close.

Vlad's eyes widened in a rush of power. Tenele's bite stole the last thread of composure he had left, and then all there was was heat, awash over him, like being alive again. His lips pulled back from her skin enough to throw out a sharp scream, and a rush of power surged over him until Vlad wasn't sure if he'd come back out the other side.

As soon as he could think again through the blinding haze of his own power, he drew his head back sharply, his fangs sliding out of her, and closed two strong fingers firmly over the wound. He didn't want to risk drinking too much blood. Their joining, as hard as it was to believe, had been only a matter of seconds between them, but she was still weak from her past wounds. He blinked unfocused red eyes and leaned heavily on his elbows above her, stunned. Stunned was the only word he could think of.

Tenele laid below him looking as if she were dazed. Her eyes were still shut and she was trembling from the aftermath of his power. Her eyes blinked open and she stared at him with half open green eyes. Her lips moved and she smiled gently at him. "Now, if that's how vampire's make love... Combine that with the way humans do..." She laughed softly, though it was clear she was drained of some energy. "You'd be a god." She raised her hand up to touch his cheek, wincing at the site of her bit mark.

Her eyes sparkled, her breath ragged. It had seemed like minutes had past. It was hard to believe that it had been only secongs. Yet, she felt strangely drained of energy for the moment. Maybe the after effects of his power and what it had done to her body. What it had made her feel. "You made me light headed again," she said with a gentle laugh as she watched him hover above her.

"What can I say," Vlad said, though his dazed voice didn't hold the arrogance that it intended, nor did he complete the remark to make it coherent. Unlike their activities this morning, where he'd been out of breath, he seemed to have forgotten how to breathe. It wasn't a problem, since he didn't really need to, but it made talking awkward, like something unnatural. He closed his eyes and rested his forehead against hers, feeling more satisfied than he could ever remember being.

He was surprised he could feel content when his body felt this unresponsive. He wasn't sure where his legs even were, let alone how they'd respond if he needed to use them. "You're very safe," he said thoughtfully, like he'd never considered it before. He certainly wasn't afraid of a little human girl, that was never an issue, but to lie utterly weak against her like this without a thought was a kind of vulnerability he would not entrust to anyone he could think of. Even the Queen would make him uneasy. Call him paranoid.

Tenele wasn't quite sure what he meant by telling her that she was safe. Whether he was trying to reassure her or himself, it was unclear. She noticed how he seemd to be just as dazed and drained as she was. She cupped his cheek with her hand, nuzzling herself against him.

"It felt... like... a dream," she said. "I didn't know it could feel like that. I always thought it would be painful for a vampire to bite."

A thought struck her. What if their attacker came back. If Vlad felt just as she did then it had been a bad idea for the both of them. The thought struck her then. Why hadn't she realized it before? How had he found them in the first place. How had he known at that exact moment where they were? And why had it been that moment. How long had he been watching? Like usual her brain shifted gears from pleasure to business and back again.

She nuzzled her hole body against Vlad, feeling so safe and warm against him at the moment. His body was putting off heat just as she was. How odd. She decided to enjoy it while it lasted.

"I love you," she mused to him as she tilted her head to the side and rested it there.

Vlad took a slow breath, his lungs re-learning the technique. Bits of his body were falling back into place, and as they tingled back into existence he could also feel the thrumming burst of energy Tenele's blood had given him. It climbed up into his consciousness like a sleeping bear. She loved him. The words still felt strange, even stranger now that he'd said them back. But true.

"You impress me to no end, for a human," Vlad said teasingly, raising his head as his arm managed to stop shaking. He opened his mouth to say more when a monstrous shriek echoed from outside the window. It was plenty loud, but the quality of the sound told him it was a good distance off. The shriek came again, closer this time, loud enough to rattle the window in its frame, and it was obvious the owner of that voice was not small.

Vlad narrowed his eyes and sat up on Tenele's waist, glancing toward the window.

Tenele sighed heavily at the sound of the shreik. She glanced up at Vlad. "What now? Has Shea come riding in on her broom? No, let me guess... its a torrent of angry demonic lodus bugs. Or maybe some other man that can't figure out whether he wants to rape or kill me has come back from the dead as a giant horse fly?!" Tenele asked angrily. Couldn't they for once just spend the whole day with out having near death experiences or psychotic men trying to kill them? Couldn't they relax? Enjoy eachother's company and bodies without being interupted. No, it was too much to ask.

Vlad glared at the window. He climbed to his feet and managed to walk to the window steadily, but it was a human movement, without his usual vampiric grace. Looking out over the city, he saw an entire row of buildings in the northeast quadrant aflame in a long straight line, like the fire had been poured across the city with a hose. A second later a dark shadow passed over the castle and he caught his first view of the culprit. A large, muscular dragon flew over their heads, its leathery wings casting a monstrous shadow over the buildings below. It was a male, from its size, covered in glistening black scales. Shades of red showed near its eyes and in patches along its powerful tale.

Vlad's lips curled back in an irritated smile as the reptile arched sideways and breathed another line of fire onto the ground below, crossing the first like a giant lopsided X in the center of the city.

"VLADIMIR!" Sinead's intrusion into his psyche felt almost vulgar after the way he'd just shared it with Tenele. His master seemed to notice the strangeness. He had a sense of her withdrawing her mind, distancing it from his, and there was a pause. "I hate to interrupt, but we have a little problem," she said again flatly.

"I'm on it," Vlad responded in his most charming voice, sensing the queen's discomfort at their intimacy. The thought brought a broad smile to his lips.

"Sinead's having a lizard problem," he said to Tenele, smiling as his clothes suddenly rose up off the floor and shot into his hands by the window.

Tenele jumped to her feet and ran to her wardrobe, pulling her underclothes on quickly. She grabbed the Queen's Maiden dress and pulled it on, not having time to route through her drawers to find suitable fighting clothes. However, she had fought many times in a dress and done just as much damage. She pulled the dress on over her head and it hugged her curved form gracefully.

Brown leather boots came next, and she pulled them up to her knee and laced them tightly. Tenele ran to her closet, and with which speed she had used to get dressed any man would admire. She grabbed one of the thigh straps from her closet that held a decent sized dagger. Propping her foot up on the chair the slit opened revealing her long slender leg to which she wrapped the thigh harness to her leg.

It was about that time that the door opened. Talon was standing there with his eyes closed at first, then he slowly opened them and it was clear he was almost afraid of what he might see.

He was thankful to see clothes and space between his sister and the vampire.

"A dragon! Can you believe it! A dragon, in this city!" Talon said, almost excited about seeing the beast.

"The city is on fire brother, please tell me you can put your admiration on hold long enough to figure a way of putting those fires out?" Tenele asked, grabbing her sword and wrapping the brown belt around her waist.

"I'm working on it, I was coming to warn you. What do you plan on doing?" he asked her quickly, almost worried to even here the answer.

"You worry about putting out the fires, alchemist. I'll worry about putting out the dragon." Tenele headed for the door and it was clear to see what mode she was in. It was save the Queen and save the Kingdom mode. To which pleasure fell second too.

"Wait! You're going to try and do what?!" It was too late, the half-elf had left the room.

"She's insane..." he muttered. He looked to Vladimir. "How do you put up with her reckless, head strong, I don't care if I die, attitude?!"

Vlad raised his eyebrows at Talon's display of relative comraderie in complaining about his sister, but the real answer fell across his lips before he had the chance to tease him for it. "Simple enough. I just have to kill it first," he winked, and was gone from the room.

Talon growled as he stormed from the room. "What do either of you know about killing dragons! You're both going to get killed..."

* * *

Tenele ran up the steps. "Steps," she muttered. "One day Vlad is going to teach me to teleport..." She got to the top of the steps that lead directly to the outside of the palace. Around some of the toweres were walls to which soldiers would stand in the event of a battle. The towers were connected by a long stone bridge.

She came to the wooden door that led onto the guard balcony. She tried to open the door, but evidently some smart person had locked the door behind them. She growled stepping back and with a swift kick towards the handle the door slung open. Five guards were crouched on the bridge platform that connected the two towers, they were staring at her wide eyed as she stepped out through the doorway.

"What are you doing there?" she asked, walking across the bridge without a care in the world.

"What! Are you crazy! Get down before it sees you!" they yelled, motioning her to come next to them.

Tenele smirked as she knelt, pressing her back to the cool stone railing. "That's sort of the plan," she muttered, glancing over at them. One was holding a large cross-bow in his gittering hands.

"Can I see that?" she asked. He handed it to her warily. The beautiful woman took it, hoisting it up as she rose to her feet. Propping one leg up on the short stone railing she aimed the crossbow at the large beautiful black creature.

"What the hell?!" The soldiers muttered. "Are you trying to piss it off?!"

"That's the idea," she said, closing one eye to take aim. "Things are about ot get hot. I suggest you run."

The five men didn't need much persuasion. They all ran away muttering that Tenele was insane. Though, she very well might. She knew one thing for sure. A dragon would only stop spitting fire when the throat was cut, and would only die once the heat was run through. The softess spot on a dragon was the underbelly and neck. With that thought in mind, she stood her ground.

Tenele glanced over as the soldiers stood watch by the door. "Go to Tenele Raider's room. There you will find a weapon on the floor before a window. Guard it. Let no one by Vladimir Dracul, Talon Raider, the Queen, or I near it." The soldiers nodded.

Tenele turned her attention back to the dragon. "Here, dragon, dragon..." she said, the wind tossing her silver hair. The sun reflected off it like a beacon and she pulled the trigger. The arrow heading towards the already seemingly pissed off dragon.

Vlad ported out of the castle and onto a rooftop just outside its gates. He searched the air for the dragon and located it flying towards the castle. Suddenly it screamed and twisted in the air. To anyone else, it wouldn't make much sense, but Vlad's eyes caught sight of an arrow buried in its chest. The reptile didn't waste much time in locating its attacker, nor did Vlad. He had to hand it to her, the girl was brave, but if she thought her dagger was going through its scales, let alone reaching its windpipe, he questioned her intelligence. The beast's chest heaved, preparing to strike with a flame that could barbecue the brave Tenele Raider from ten houselengths away.

Vlad focused and ported himself to the top of the dragon's head, immediately dropping down and grabbing onto a ridge of scales as he found himself suddenly flying rapidly through the air with the dragon. The beast rolled its eyes up at him, a low croon rumbling from its throat, like it was pondering how to burn him. It didn't stay distracted for long, however, returning its focus to the girl on the crossing ahead of him. A smoky stench filled the air, and then the dragon's jaws shot open and a torrent of fire blew out from between them.

Without a lot of options, Vlad ran downt he creature's snout and threw himself down, on his chest. The dragon's mouth clapped shut, mostly from confusion, and Vlad flung his arms around it, holding the lower jaws shut. It was an effort, but Vlad was more than strong enough to hold the animals' mouth shut. Its flames gurgled to an uncomfortable roar in his chest before choking themselves out.

The dragon veered away from Tenele, focused now on Vlad's presence. It tossed its head angrily to the side, trying to throw the vampire off. Vlad glanced down at the underside of the dragon's head. The throat was too far to reach, and he needed to get to it somehow. The creature gave its head another jerk, flying haphazardly with the effort. Vlad let go of its snout, flying along the creature's flank and digging his claws in for grip. He could go for the wings, but if he crippled the animal and it fell to the ground, it would likely thrash and fight, and do even more damage than it would from the air.

The dragon's body was hot, like it was made of burning metal. Vlad had an instant to spot the creature maw shooting toward him, trying to pick him off its side like a flea. He quickly flipped upward onto the dragon's back and ran along its scaled hide to get back to the neck. He drove his claws like swords into the back of the creature's neck and swung down to the underside of its throat, dragging deep gashes through its scales. The beast shrieked, but dragons were intelligent creatures. It could tell Vlad's claws weren't long enough to find its windpipe. Instead, it arched its neck downward and blew a storm of fire up at the vampire.

Vlad Jerked and disappeared from the dragon's hide, porting to the castle roof next to Tenele. He stood calmly and looked off at the dragon with a dark, maniacal grin on his face, but his skin was smoldered to the point that he was nauseating to look at. "Interesting," he said as his skin regenerated swiftly, though some of his clothes were still aflame. "Apparently size does matter," he smirked, turning his eyes to Tenele.

Tenele glanced at him but had to look away. "I was wondering when you'd show up," she said, looking at the rather angry dragon as she put another arrow into the cross bow.

"My original plan was to get on its back. Then I figured that wouldn't work to well... So I was going to try and piss it off to keep it from burning down the whole city. Distract it until you could kill it." she finally looked at him. "I know I'm awesome and all, but not even I can take down a dragon single handedly.

"Nor can I," Vlad said, putting his hands on his hips. "But who needs hands," he smiled. His eyes grew dark, clouded with power. "Unlocking block stages B and C, he hissed, his voice growing thick with magic. He suddenly took the short distance to the edge of the roof at a sprint and jumped off, high into the air. His body seemed to wriggle, then explode in a spasm of blood and bone. Bones cracked and shifted against each other, and flesh flowed outward, losing its human shape, growing. The sound of flesh milling against itself was enough to give the onlooking guards a dry, nauseous sensation in their throats. Finally two shoots of flesh shot out to either side of Vlad's form, and the skin reknitted into something recognizable.

What suddenly lifted on the wind in front of them was black and serpentine, with great wings like a bat's. It was black, but not in any way that could be compared to the dragon's. The dragon's scales glistened against the sun, radiant and alive. Vlad's new form seemed to absorb the light straight out of the sky, reflecting nothing, like a black hole. The only thing that seemed really possible to see on the creature's body was the eyes, bright crimson and narrowed into two great slits on his snout. But there was no doubting that he was, in fact, a dragon, if a bit smaller than the one attacking the city.

Vlad caught the wind with his wings, exploring this new form, then arced sideways and shot toward the dragon. The creature had, in fact, noticed him, and its reaction was not welcoming. In a flurry of wings and power, the two beasts crashed together, fighting to stay aloft as their teeth and bodies entangled midair.
