(Mature) Overrun City
Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Kyosuke is still worried, but he smiles, stroking her cheek idly, then goes back to stirring the soup. It isn't long before he ladels a bowl full for Shinobu and hands it to her, then gets one for himself. He offers a silent thanks to the dead villagers whose supplies he had raided, as this is their first decent meal in a few days.

Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Shinobu manages to finish her bowl of soup, and with a full stomach she feels even more sleepy. She curls under the blankets and waits for Kyosuke to join her. "I need you body warmth," she urges to him with a soft laugh. Her eyes are heavy and she rests her head on her palm as she watches him eat.
Re: (Mature) Overrun City
"I'll be right there," Kyosuke responds. He just wants to take care of a few things before. The pot is taken off of the fire, they can reheat it for tomorrow's breakfast. With that done, the samurai finishes off the rest of his bowl and slides under the blanket with Shinobu, then sneaks a soft kiss. "Is this better?"

Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Shinobu smiles softly, snuggling back against him. "It is," she whispers, closing her eyes to the night. It isn't long before Shinobu falls fast asleep.
Re: (Mature) Overrun City
With Shinobu in his arms again, Kyosuke falls asleep fairly quickly. But it isn't long before day breaks, and this time, properly rested and all, Kyosuke wakes up fairly early. But he doesn't move for a while, not wanting to wake Shinobu up if she hasn't already woken up.

Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Shinobu's skin is hotter than the night before. She rests heavily next to Kyosuke even as the sun gets higher. Finally, well after morning has broken her eyes flutter open. She glances around, before shutting her eyes firmly and sighing. "Good morning," she mutters, rolling over in his arms to hug wrest her head on his chest.
Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Kyosuke frowns as he can feel the heat coming off of Shinobu's skin. She's definitely warmer than she was yesterday. "How do you feel, Shinobu?" he asks, at the same time reaching down for her injured arm. Whether she lets him or not, he starts to unwrap it, checking for signs of infection.

Re: (Mature) Overrun City
"Fine," she mutters. Shinobu peeks at his hands as he unwraps her arm to look at it. The wound is red and inflamed around the edges. "I'll be fine," she corrects, closing her eyes again. Her soft hair falls over her face as she burrows against Kyosuke's side.
Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Once again, Kyosuke frowns. If her wound looks like that, she's definitely got the wound fever going, and Kyosuke's not a doctor. "Well, just in case, we're looking for a doctor at the next town we come across." He hopes they can find one today. He rewraps the wound, then immediately starts building a new fire. He wants to get the morning routines over with as soon as possible so they can continue their search.

Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Shinobu stays under the covers as long as she can, and when everything is ready for them to leave she stands up slowly and begins to roll up the blankets. She packs them away on the saddle, and goes to eat the soup left over from last night. She makes it halfway through the bowl before her stomach starts to feel queasy.
Shinobu goes to the river and washes her half-empty bowl away, cleaning it and packing it away with the rest of the goods.

That doesn't go unnoticed by Kyosuke, and he looks at her worriedly. He finishes the rest of his soup in a hurry, and thankfully there aren't any leftovers, so he washes everything out and loads them onto the horses. "Can you ride?" he asks... then shakes his head. "Either way, maybe you should ride with me."

Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Shinobu nods in agreement and climbs onto the horse to sit behind him. She wraps her arms around her arms around his waist and rests her hot forehead against his back. They ride for an hour or so before Shinobu reaches around him to tug the reigns. "Stop for a second," she whispers breathlessly. She slides off the horse and jogs quickly to the bushes. She falls to her knees, wrapping on arm around her waist, and another quickly moves to catch her long black hair as she spills her breakfast into the brush.
After several hard heaves she gasps, sliding away from the bushes to sit with her legs curled under her. She takes the hem of her kimono and wipes away the taste from her mouth as she tries to catch her breath.

Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Kyosuke stops as asked, and he only looks more worried when Shinobu can't hold her breakfast down. When she gets back, he shifts to the side. "Ride in front of me," he says. "I don't want you losing your grip and falling off." It'd be a little trickier this way, hugging Shinobu against him while he controlled the horse... but her condition is getting worse.

Re: (Mature) Overrun City
Shinobu nods wearily. She climbs into the saddle in front of Kyosuke, her hands gripping the saddle horn in front of her. She leans back against Kyosuke and closes her eyes to rest, feeling exhausted. She shivers, feeling cold despite the warm sun beating down on them. She slips her hand to cup the bandaged wound. "Can I die?" she asks him worriedly.
Re: (Mature) Overrun City
"I won't let you," Kyosuke says with confidence he doesn't actually have. Then again, he would do anything to keep her alive. And it's only a day in, she still has quite a few days before the infection gets bad enough that she could die from it. Still, he hugs onto her tightly, not letting her fall off the horse. "Go to sleep if you'd like, I'll wake you when we find a village."
