Laya looked up. "I am staying, the only chace I'll leave is if you come along. I have no where to go, no one to go to..." she said softly. "There is no reason for me to do anything but help you."

She smoothed out her clothes absentmindedly and avoided there eyes as she walked around them and headed for the door, wanting a bit of fresh air.

She stepped outside and took a deep breath, sighing and closing her eyes.

"Exactly as I said." Kratos murmmered folding his arms in front of his chest. He sighed. "and I must follow my sister, who will follow Laya's example, otherwise there's no end to the trouble she could get in." He gave Telanis a true, soft, but tired smile. It hinted that he was always getting his sister out of countless messes.

Telanis looked from the door Laya had closed behind her to Kratos with a troubled frown. "It's dangerous here," he said to him with regret in his eyes, "And the problem with village can not be solved." He looked at Talon pleadingly. "Please convince them to go somewhere safe!"

Kratos smirked. "I cannot. I have no power over Laya, and my sister is hard headed." Kratos sighed. "It's either we do something about the people or.. maybe we should take you away from here?"

"I mustn't leave," the unicorn said quickly, but in truth, he'd never tried to give the prospect any serious consideration until now. Telanis gazed downward as if deep in thought. "Very well," he said, finally raising his gaze back up to Kratos. He would just have to figure something out later. Maybe that was the solution - if he left, everything could be healed. "I've always wanted to know what lay beyond this forest, anyway," he said with a determined half-grin.

OOC: Kratos. Not Talon. =P

Kratos nodded. "It may be for the best." he assured the unciorn/man. Bowing breifly to excuse himself, he turned from the room and went back to Neko who was still soundly asleep.

Telanis stood where he was for a long moment, as though deep in thought. He broke out of his trance and looked up at Tetsumaru, who seemed to be comfortably spaced out by the fire. "I'll return in a minute," he said quietly to the kind samurai, and walked to the door. He opened it by the knob, resisting the whim to play with it by closing it and opening it again, and walked outside where Laya was standing with her eyes closed.

Not wanting to disrupt whatever she was doing, he stepped out and stood beside her, looking out into the forest nostalgically and thinking about what she had told him before. "No where to go, no one to go to..." he thought. His expression lightened as a protective fondness overwhelmed the concerns that were on his mind a moment ago and an aura of peace and safety flowed from him. An encouraging breeze stirred through the woods, floating their hair gently out of their faces.

Laya opened her eyes and glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. She really didn't know what to say to him... She had lost the ability to hold conversations it seemed.

She didn't know why she felt comfortable and safe around him. Was it because he was a unicorn? Or just because she had opened up to him.

She looked towards him. "You've ran as a unicorn... would you like to run as a man?" she asked him, that same smile trying its best to creep onto her lips.

Telanis looked down at his legs and blinked. "It should be the same as walking very quickly, right?" he asked, a bit of stubborn pride in his voice.

Laya nodded and looked for an open path. "It's the same I guess..." she said and looked back at him. "How about we start of walking, then get into a fast run, then we'll go up from there..." She said and the smile seemed to be winning over and her lips curled slightly. "What do you think?"

"Very well, but don't be hurt if I outrun you," Telanis warned proudly.

Laya felt like she wanted to laugh at that... she had seen how he had walked and she didn't think that running would go to well for him either.

"Alright," she said and began to walk, and before long she thought they should move up to a faster pace. "Okay, now just move a bit faster... Its called a jog."

Telanis concentrated on his feet as they walked. His movement looked natural enough, but he knew by now how easy it was to miscalculate and stumble.

"Okay, now just move a bit faster... Its alled a jog," Laya was encouraging. Rhen increased his pace so that he could keep up with her, but he wasn't jogging - he was just walking quickly. This took almost all his concentration, but not so much to prevent him from looking up at her with a grin and saying, "It's not so bad!"

Laya finally smiled, and it actually didn't crack her face. She didn't notice it yet, as she looke forward. "Okay, now try to run..." she told him, taking off in a run to encourage him to catch up with her.

Telanis frowned in concentration and, watching Laya closely, lifted his legs off the ground and propelled himself forward. For a split-second, he seemed to be successful before he tangled his right leg with his left and fell flat on his face with a grunt of surprise.
