Telanis looked at her thoughtfully. Misreading the sadness in her eyes, he said "If you fall into danger, we will leave. No matter what happens, I promise to keep you safe." He stared at her intently, touching a light hand to her shoulder. "It will be alright," he asssured gently.

Laya didn't mean to press upon him, or make him relive bad memories, but she had to point out something. "Those men that attacked us in that room, there will be others like that. When war comes conquering armies feel it is there right and privelege to take what they want.... Many more men like that will come," she told him, lowering her head.
"I just don't want anything bad to happen. I believe you.... that you will keep me safe. But, who will keep you safe?"

Telanis's stomach went cold as he thought through her words. His hands felt cold as well, his touch faltering on her shoulder. He relived a few moments of what had happened earlier, and blinked like he'd been slapped. He couldn't think of what to say...
"If it comes to an emergency like that one, I will change my form to one they no longer desire, and escape." That was the best he could think of; he prayed that Laya would understand and drop her argument.

Laya nodded and looked down for a moment. She suddenly had this strong urge to hug him and she took two steps forward and wrapped her arms around him gently, holding him tight for a moment and then letting go. She took a step back and looked back at his face. "Alright," she agreed. There was no changing his mind.
She brushed her brown hair from her face again and leaned back against the railing.
"I think we should leave soon, leave the city that is. They'll be searching for us soon..."

Telanis nodded gratefully, the warmth of her embrace still calming his frazzled nerves, and cast an aft glance at the house. He wondered if Neko and Kratos were still planning inside. "Let's check on them," he suggested, looking at Laya as he moved toward the door.

Laya nodded and grabbed his hand, leading him inside to where the brother and sister were stratagising.

OOC: No one has posted in a while so I got bored and decided to do something... Maybe this will help people come up with some ideas?
IC:
A little while later, as the plans were still being made, Laya found herself feeling lightheaded from the days ordeal. So she decided to excuse herself to the back yard, taking in the setting sun with much delight as well as dismay. She knew that tomorrow would be a day that would be filled with the blood and violence of human ways... And Telanis would be caught in the middle of it.
It was hard, now that she was back in Ongoreth, to even imagine that this was not a dream. She was out of that nightmare, able to start anew... With good friends at that. Friends that watched out for her, and had not yet tricked her into falling into the hands of the enemy. All that she had done since leaving Kron had been at her own accord. Sometimes her willingness to still jump into any situation frightened her. However, she realized that no situation could ever be as bad as being a slave...
"Surround the house... Burn them out... These are the rivals against our War Lord!" she heard someone whisper in a quiveringly angry voice.
"How did they find us!" she breathed and turned quickly to warn the others. Her body ran into another. She went to back up and appologise but went no where. She struggled and finally looked up to see the person holding her...
He resembled the man that had dragged her into the room. She remembered last seeing him on fire. But... She knew it had only been his wardrobe. It was possible for him to have survived that.
"Shhh... We have a surprise for your friends..." She went to yell, call out... anything... His thick dirty hand covered her small mouth as he dragged her away, around to the front of the house where others were standing.
"We'll keep you out of sight..." He pulled her around behind a couple of stacked crates. Wrapping one arm around her waist and keeping the other over her mouth as his friends advanced to "burn them out".

Hi Arulric,
Welcome to Heirot! That's an excellent post; you're definitely on track on the roleplaying end. You're welcome to join us in this thread, but we just have to get your character approved by the admins. To do that, check out the "character creation" section on the main page and read up on how to make your profile. Once you have this character's profile the way you like it, post it in "character creation" as a new thread, using the character's name as the topic title, and we'll review it right away! Then you're ready to roleplay.

OOC: Welcome to Heirot, and welcome to the family! Since we, here at Heirot, pretty much think of eachother as family. I was very impressed with your post and cannot wait to read your character sheet as well as reply to this post. SO... I decided to go ahead and reply and will wait patiently until your character is approved, which should be no problem since I can tell you are a good writer. If you want to know what any of the characters look like or there personality just check the People of Heirot and look up there name.
IC: Laya didn't know the man, but she was thankful for his help. Her attacker had to release her mouth from his filthy hand to go for his own weapon, keeping his arm around her waist so tight it hurt.
However, the only thing on her mind was warning her friends. "Telanis! Neko! The house! There setting the house on fire!!" She screamed loud enough, well hopefully loud enough, that they would hear her.
Then she made eye contact with her rescuer as the brute used her as a human sheild. She wasn't fond of this, but had a feeling that this man knew how to fight, and was probably very good at it. She didn't know why, maybe it was the feeling he gave off, or how confident he spoke. Either way, for some reason the situation felt completely safe in his hands.
She said nothing to distract him, not even thank you. Thank you would come for when this was over, and she was not being cut in two by a large powerful arm.

Telanis had been listening to Neko and Kratos argue over their attack strategy for some minutes, when Laya had slipped outside. All of a sudden, he smelled blood and a bad feeling took over his body. He spun toward the door and ran outside, where a fight was goign on near the house. The unicorn ran close enough to see everyone involved, including the strange newcomer who didn't APPEAR to be a soldier, and stopped short, trying to figure out a plan. How to get Laya out...
He took a deep breath and ran into the battle, immediately drawing the attention of some of the guards. "It's the boss's pet from before! Get him!" their leader shouted as Telanis reached Laya and grabbed her, breaking out of the tightening circle of guards with Laya in tow.
"Run," he whispered, breaking off with her down a long, empty alley while the soldiers stampeded after them.

Laya nodded and ran with Telanis, holding his hand... Though he had just started learning to walk on those legs he seemed to be able to run much faster than she. She kept up, however. She could hear the shots of the men behind them as they split up. Some staying to help fight the new comer, some to burn the house, and the rest persued them as they headed down the alley.
"We need to get out of the town, Telanis," she said as she breathed heavily. She tried to slow her breathing, to make it easier to run and so she could run longer.

Telanis heard an arrow whiz past his ear and tried to run faster, focusing hard on the movement of his legs. "I think I agree," he breathed as they came to a T in the alley. Uncertain of where he was, he just chose right and took Laya's hand to make sure they stayed together. Everywhere there were walls, buildings and more walls. He had been lost earlier, and he was equally hopeless now. "Do you know a way out?" he asked as another arrow struck the ground near their feet.

Laya was now running and holding her side at the same time. "I don't know... We should find a street... A street would lead out of the city..." she said in between breaths as a arrow bounced off the wall and went right in between them.
"Don't kill them. The boss wants his pet back and I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that girl!" the soldier said as they continued there persuit.
Another and and another arrow went past. "Telanis... we have to loose them somehow or we'll end up getting shot in the back!"

Telanis skipped forward as an arrow skimmed his leg and he jumped away from it, managing to barely get scratched. Laya was right, they were going to be murdered, or worse. He wasn't sure what he'd seen the beginning of in that tent earlier, but he had a feeling it was something worse. They were running down a long path that ended in a wall about as tall as their heads. He thought he could smell the forest on the other side. Was that the edge of the village?
"Laya, get on my back," he said, picking up enough speed to get in front of her and hold his hands back as if to carry her piggy back. "Trust me..."
