Lore: (mature)To The End of The World part 1

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

She couldn't quite stop herself from smirking. It seemed more and more that Zeikiel was interested in her - her opinions, at least, or her continued survival - despite himself. That could be either good or horribly dangerous. She had to stop thinking so much; it took the fun out of things.

"Clearing out the cave, of course. Nothing's more efficient than an inferno. Suppose you could teach me?" she joked, allowing her grin to widen disarmingly.

He looked at her sidelong, surprised. She wanted to learn his magic? What's more was that she was smiling at him. Kat smiled sometimes but... it always seemed like a dead one. Mildly, sometimes, Zeikiel wanted to ask why she was always so meloncholy, but he had to remind himself to stay distant from the people beneath him. As far as he was concerned, everyone was beneath him.

"My magic is of a great level, you'd kill yourself without the proper bloodline to control it." he said bluntly, without much explanation. Of course, why he cared that she'd kill herself--He twitched his tail in aggravation. He should've killed these people. Why didn't he now? There's no reason to keep this girl.

He glanced sidelong at Dan again, taking note of her elven heritage. Of course he had respect for the elves, they had magic and respected most creatures. But even so, neither elves had lent him a helping hand when he had crossed their path. The respect he had for them was a respect one magic weilder would have for another.

"Hmph. That's no fun." Dan leaned back, using her interlaced fingers to cushion the back of her neck from the cave's rough walls. "And here I thought, you know, blood sacrifice to this god here, a little bit of chanting, bam. Ah, well." She closed her eyes and began breathing as though asleep. It was very convincing, but some remaining tension in her muscles would betray her under close scrutiny. She wondered what Zeikiel would do, and she wondered if she should really trust him enough to put herself in a position where she might accidentally nod off. Then again, that possibility was so remote that it scarcely bore consideration. If he thought she slept, it might put him off guard, and maybe she could get some information that way.

Zeikiel eyed her carefully. He knew she wasn't sleeping, but the silence from her would be a welcome blessing. The rain fell heavily outside the cave's walls and he listened to it with careful consideration.

He meditated like that for a time until his deity came back into his head. It reminded him of his original mission and Zeikiel suddenly found himself... bored with it. But he didn't speak the words...

Alas, any extended silence on Danwynn's part was not to be. She grew bored of pretending to sleep, considered sleeping in earnest, decided against it, and then nodded off quite against her will. Zeikiel simply wasn't projecting enough threat to keep her awake at present, maybe because he hadn't threatened her in a few hours. She seemed to be sleeping peacefully - or soundly, at the very least; she ground her teeth when she slept. Noisily.

Zeikiel opened one of his fire-orange eyes to look at Dan. His deity had finally stopped rampaging in his mind that Zeikiel actually heard Dan's grinding. He quirked a brow at her posture and wondered if maybe her dreams were bothering her. She seemed to be sleeping now, then again elves mastered many things and the art of deception was among them.

Minutes passed before Zeikiel, fed up with listening to her grind her teeth, clumsily got up. He managed to bang his head upon the cave ceiling, his reward for standing too fast. He growled in annoyance and held his head while glaring at the cave ceiling.

Dan woke with a start at the sound of Zeikiel's head connecting with the ceiling. "Zuh? Oh... dear me." She took an unnecessary moment to arrange herself, straightening clothing that hadn't had the chance to get wrinkled during her brief sleep, and looked up at her companion. Gods, he was huge! Strange that she hadn't really noticed... "Something the matter?"

Zeikiel straightened at the sound of Dan waking, but he only succeeded in banging his head into the cave ceiling again.

"Argg..." was his strained reply to her question.

Dan stared up at him for a few seconds, then said quite solemnly, "Ah." She then bent all her efforts toward not laughing, mastered the urge, and asked, "Want to relocate, then?"

"Non." Zeikiel replied gruffly, sitting back down since his companion was now awake. "This cave is suitable, though small. We'll continue when the storm passes. A female does not last long in this weather." He made the statement more as a scholar pointing out the abilities of a study subject.

Dan stiffened abruptly, her expression falling into one of painful and studious neutrality. "Really? I'd be very interested to know where you came by that charming generalization," she said in a light tone at odds with her appearance but backed with ice.

One of Zeikiel's finned ears twitched, picking up her barely hidden hostility. He smirked, he had finally struck a chord, though he didn't mean to.

"Mearly saying that many females are delicate. I've seen it most among the human race," he sneered. "Though a woman can be quite vindictive..."

"Generalizations," Dan spat. She took a deep breath, knowing that he was baiting her. "Although, you're right, we needn't leave simply because you keep banging your head. Everyone knows males don't keep anything of value in there. Judging by humans, that is."

Zeikiel smiled, surprisingly pleased by her venomous tounge.

"Like I stated," he said with a smile on his lips, an odd trait for his demeanor, "Vindictive..."

Dan rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on. I'm a law unto myself. Don't judge me based on your past experiences. I know you're not going to tell me the typical female has my sparkling wit." Her eyebrows shot up and she bore a slight smirk. "Didn't get the impression Kat had much of a spine, and I can't imagine many other women being susceptible to your... peculiar allure."
