LORE: The Beginning to Their End
Damien laughed as he kicked the horse to urge him forward. "Not necessarily, Arroes, right now." Fireheart galloped at a reasonable pace. The sun now beamed down at their faces. Damien didn't expect the sun to be out much longer. A couple of hours had already passed and the golden orb was already sinking in the distance in front of them.
"I just wanna get some food and a nice bed." He said through the wind that rushed over his face.

Mi looked at him for a moment. "I hope you buying, because I'm broke at the moment. Forgot to grab my money on the way out of the house. You know, getting attacked in the middle of the night and then leaving just makes a person forget the nessessities." She said, wondering if he would force her to sleep on the streets or buy her what she needed. She had money, but he didn't need to know that.
"I........cause....I... money...." Mi's words were broken and Damien was only catching bits of what she had said.
"You kn....in th...mi...nigh...makes a... forg... neccess..."
Damien shook his head in response not knowing what he was answering. He didn't waste time to ask again though and just kept Fireheart moving without saying a word.

Mi decided not to talk, since he either couldn't here her or was deciding not to talk to her. She made sure to keep a tight grip on him, even if she didn't want to. Though, falling off her own horse wasn't an opption for a woman in her condition.
Before long the sun had set, which meant that the Queen had woken up from her slumber. The darkness took hold of the land in am matter of seconds. The lights in the distance signaled that Arroes was up a head.
Growing closer they came to a iron barred gate with four Arken soldiers stood outside the gate hassling the men and women who wished to pass through. Eventually when they were satisfied with the person the gate would open and allow them in. Then it would close again while the soldiers questioned the next person in line.

Damien acknowledged the soldiers and really didn't feel like dealing with them. He didn't figure he would have to long, though they tended to hassle most people, especially those who carried beautiful women with them.
He had a plan they couldn't stall however.
"Halt," yelled the tallest guard as the two approached on Fireheart. "What is your business in Arroes?"
Damien looked at the guard with distaste. He was a fowl human who seemed to miss a few bath times. His hair was short but rugged. His helmet was cocked to the side and covered only the top of his head.
The military rejects, obviously, thought Damien. He didn't waste much time explaining his purpose.
"I am bringing this young magician girl, to Queen Shea, as I was ordered," Damien lied.
"Ordered by who?" the guard spat.
"The queen herself," Damien argued. "And I suggest you don't impugn us with stupid questions." Damien's voice was truthful and annoyed.
"Fine," the guard finally grumbled and he stepped from the road.
Damien urged Fireheart forward and made his way into the fiendish city. He turned his head around to find the guards pestering another poor soul trying to enter the horrid realm.

"I'm surprised they even believed that lie," Mi said rather boredly. "It was clearly made up. They must be the C stream of guards." She shook her head, this kingdom was really going down hill. She thought Shea would find someone more... protective of the city.
"Anyone could walse in here, assassins, maybe even a whole army if they came in in pairs."
"Anyone could walse in here, assassins, maybe even a whole army if they came in in pairs."
"Lucky for us," Damien said brushing the comment away. He didn't care. He wasn't here to assassinate anyone and particularly care about the city's guard. It wasn't long before the first tavern came into view.
"Perfect," He steered Fireheart in the direction of the inn. "Do you have money?" he asked pulling the horse to a stop right outside the tavern door. He wouldn't have a problem getting any money if she didn't have any but didn't feel like beating someone out of theirs if he didn't have to.
His face was slightly dirty, but he still held his charm. His brown eyes glaring at her observantly.

Mi looked at him. "I guess you weren't listening. Didn't I tell you when we left the house that I didn't have any money with me. I was sort of in a hurry to get away with you at the moment, I forgot to borrow money from my psychopathic father." She shut her mouth suddenly, regretting calling her father a psychopath... It wasn't good... Especially if he was following like she knew he was. If he heard her....
Damien saw her retreat from her words and saw a hint of fear enter her eyes. "Why do you fear him? You are stronger than he is." he said a bit annoyed. He didn't understand her situation and thought rather dumb.
"You are stronger than he is, though you apparently fail to see it." He handed her the reigns turned to walk off without saying where he was going.

Mi rolled her eyes. She thought that maybe she'd kill him before she died.... He wa getting rather annoying with his cocky, high-and-mighty attitude. She took the horse to the city stables, locking him in a stall and placing the key in her boot. "See you later boy," she said pulling the hood back over her head as she stepped out into the dark street.
Many rough looking people walked the streets, but then again this was the home of the Witch Queen. The city was lined with torches and oil lamps. As she passed the gates to the palace she stopped to admire the large gryphan statues spewing fire from there mouths and the statues of the rulers of the past.
She then turned and began to walk away, her cloak billowing behind her as she passed people, walking rather fast down the sidewalk.

Damien made his way down the dreary streets scanning the locals. He finally saw his lucky contestant. A short chubby man, who seemed out of place amongst the dark peoples of Arken.
Damien pushed through the crowd and shoved the fat man into the side of a building. The man stumbled to the ground as Damien approached him, his eyes blazing like red embers. Fear swept across the man's face and Damien laughed and knelt down beside him.
"You wouldn't happen to have some money I could have, do you?" Damien's voice was strong and threatening. The dark shadows just passed through the dim lit streets without bothering the two men.
The fatty pulled a pouch of money from his side pocket without speaking. His hands shook violently with fear.
Damien snatched the bag and stood up, "Why, thank you, good sir?" an evil smirk crossed his face. "May the gods bless you." The man nodded his head still to scared to speak.
Damien tossed the bag in one hand as he walked back to the streets. Before out of the man's sight though, Damien raised a hand over his shoulder and snapped his fingers. A flash of light lit the ally way and all that was left of the man was a small mound of ash. Damien laughed and went back to the tavern, as a few people stopped to see what had happened.
It wasn't long before he saw Mi standing outside of the inn. He walked to her side, coins in hand. "Shall we?" he gestured at the door.

Mi said nothing to him, just followed his lead as he led her into the inn. She kept the hood over her head, and the cloak concealing her form. She found that drunken men and her did not mix. The inn had a commo room full of tables that she guessed were part of the dinning hall of sorts. Most of the men were sitting around drinking, laughing as loudly and annoyingly as possible. Some hushed as they entered. Clearly they could tell from her slender and elegantly sloped shoulders, compared to Damien she was clearly female.
Some went back to talking, but a couple of rough characters in the back watched the two of them closely. Of course, she and her new companion did look rather suspicious.

Damien returned the stare of their watchers. He dared them to try something. He had been craving a fight for sometime now. He put an arm around Mi and walked to the bar. A slender, beaked nosed, man washed a class and asked, "What can I get fur ya?"
Damien grimaced as the man spoke. He was missing half of his teeth and the rest were green. To make it worse, the man's breath smelled of rot.
"I'll have a brandy," Damien finally answered after the smell in the air cleared a little.
