Lore: (mature)To The End of The World part 1

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

Drakoe kept his gaze hard on Zeikiel. "Well let's talk," he growled. "That's all we've been trying to get you to do anyway."

Zeikiel growled and lifted up his axe. "I have nothing to say to a human." He spat out the word like poison on his tounge. "Put up your arms and die."

This looked like it was about to get ugly, and Dan liked to think she knew when not to interfere. Still, she didn't want to leave. She wasn't entirely certain why, though it could have something to do with the bounty she still knew was on Zeikiel or Kat. To that effect, she was starting to come up with a plan... She stood near where the girl had fallen at her master's orders.

"Kat," she said out of the corner of her mouth, "when Zeikiel tells you not to move, does that mean you can't talk either?"

"Ah.." Kat started nervously. "I can speak...." SHe didn't understand, and she was very, very afraid.

Noticing that Dan was planning something and not liking the position he was in he decided to get himself out of harm's way. Before Zeikiel could blink he was standing behind the beast at a safe distance.

"Why do you have to be so hostile?" he remarked trying to keep Zeikiel's attention

Zeikiel blinked realizing that the human was fast. Very fast. Trying to hide his surprised, Zeikiel turned on Drakoe with his axe swinging up over his head.

"Why must you be persistent on living!?" Zeikiel growled.

Drakoe smiled, glad to be farther away from the massive creature. "Believe it or not I do cherish my life, but unfortunately I'm infatuated with your unique mutation and can't seem to make myself leave without speaking to you."

He threw a quick glance to the other two but quickly turned back to Zeikiel.

((Ugh. Terribly sorry I haven't posted. Life happened and now I've lost my train of thought. I'll jump back in later, I s'pose. >_>))

Zeikiel slammed his axe into the ground just milimeters from Drakoe's feet. Growling in anger at both himself for missing and the intruders, he yanked his axe out of the ground and hoisted it onto his shoulder. They were persistent pests. Pests were normally squashed but these guys...

Alright, he'd play their game. For now...

"I'm not a mutation, I'm a unique species that has died out." he told them clearly, not attacking anymore and looking somewhat relaxed.

Drakoe was a little stunned by the answer and sudden difference in the beast. He relaxed himself but stayed alert. "You're an actual species?" Drakoe asked not sure if he had heard correctly.

Zeikiel sniffed indifferently, as if what Drakoe had asked had offended him. "Yes," he replied stiffly. His hold over Kat fell and she was now able to stand up. Kat stared at her master, both scared and confused.

Was that why he was bitter? she wondered to herself.

Drakoe saw in the creatures eyes that he had been offended by his question... It was more of a thought that accidently slipped out. "I'm sorry if I offended you," he said solemnly and more comfortable.

Drakoe hesitated and then asked "What happened to them?" he thought a moment... "If you don't mind me asking?" he added trying not to offend him again.

Grimacing at being forced to remember that day of slaughter. He sat down abruptly on a large rock with his head in his hands. His ax was implanted into the ground beside him.

"They were slaughtered," his voice was deathly quiet, almost on the verge of a quivering tone. Remembering the the people he had known as a child made all his defenses drop. The hard barrier he had strived to regain again for the last 2 weeks had fallen remarkably. Kat was touched by her master's suddenly vuneralbility, but she dared not to approach him.

Drakoe sat back and gave Zeikiel his space. He knew that he was hurting at the rememberance of his family.

He waited on him to continue without pressing the matter. He looked differently at Zeikiel now. He wasn't the same ferocious beast he had seen before.

Drakoe felt a chill of sadness run down his spine as he remembered his own past. The curse bestowed upon him by the dragon... and the slaughter of his family and village.

Zeikiel stayed silent. A sure sign he was not about to continue, it posed too much a risk to reveal more. He could sense, also that, his 'master' was not pleased with Zeikiel's sudden change, but it was staying disturbingly silent.

"M-Master?" Kat's soft voice came out to him. He looked up and found surprisingly, that he was comforted by her eyes watching him.

"It's nothing." he said like he was discarding the matter. Kat sighed, knowing better than to press him further. Zeikiel now welcomed the presence of Drakoe and Dan unconsciously.
