lol yea. It may start out as such, a fan fiction. But if I like the story well enough (and actually get through it) I might change Soran's name or something and try to get it published =P

That's fine, as long as the name as well as the character and backstory are significantly different from Soran's (in a published version)

Eh, you know, if you're planning on publishing it, it might just be easier for you to make a whole new original character for it. I mean, if you're going to have to go through Soran first for her to check whether or not you'll be allowed to, I think it'd just be simpler. Also, I think it'd be better for you to stick with a purely original work. That way you don't have to worry about messing up the character since it's yours, and you're allowed to give him those out of character moments.

I'll worry about all that later. I've got 3 chapters written, I'm not about to delete and start over, so-to-say. If I ever publish it I'm deffinatly gonna go through and edit it. Hell, I might even created to versions. But once Soran read's through it I'll see what she says.

Okay. But based on the description you've given me, what you are writing now qualifies as fan fiction - using what is 'already there'. If you want to continue writing it that way, just keep in mind that I have already clarified that you may not publish or take credit for something that includes my intellectual property. I want to read it for enjoyment - not as the copyright police, but you are making me nervous and putting me in an awkward position if you imply that you can avoid plagiarizing my work with a few minor edits when the first chapter is 'all about Soran'. When asking me to go through it, please be considerate and don't expect me to allow anything that I've already clarified my disapproval of, unless you are calling it fan fiction. Again, I don't want to be so legal, but this is important to me. I have already copyrighted several stories that include or focus on Soran. Money and publication are not the issue - I am sentimentally possessive of my work.

Oh, jesus chirstmas! I don't plan on stealing your work -_-... Just read through what I have, I wanna see what you think of it once I post it up.

[edit] I just really wanted to see who would like the idea... I've basically just screwed over the idea of putting it in a book since there's too many copy-rights to even try... would've made a great book too T_T. Although I would never have taken ALL the credit... it could've been like..a multiple author book or something...
