"She's fine, she'll need a day or so to heal though. Jayden, there should be a thick cord that you can use to get us outta here." Yuuna looked at over where the dog is, she kinda felt sorry for it.

Yuuna placed Layla down and took out a powder to enduce sleep and poured it in her hand. She blew over the dog.

The dog became very drowzy and went to sleep.

Jayden ran back to the camp. When she returned with the chord, she lowered it to Yuuna and Layla and let them grab on. When she pulled them up, she checked on Layla's ankle. "Aw, it's okay. You'll be fine."

"Yeah, I guess. Did you see Yuuna shoot that big dog? She saved me, Jayden! It was so cool!"

Yuuna wrapped the dog's cut in a cloth then wiped off the dogs face a put a few drops of water in it's eyes to clean them out, closed them and let the dog sleep.

Yuuna then climbed out of the hole and pulled up the cord up while winding it. Starlight snorted and layed on the ground. Yuuna put Layla on her back, Yuuna began to walk back to the camp picking up rock on the way back.

Jayden carried Layla back to the camp and set her down. "Now, I have to go back and get all the stuff I dropped when I heard you scream. You had me scared, Layla."

Layla giggled at the thought of her sister freaking out like that. "That's good to know. I love you, Jayden."

"I love you, too." She started walking back into the woods to get the wood, moss, and pine needles. Layla sat down on the ground - bored out of her sanity - and wanted to start a conversation with Yuuna.

"How does your new bow work, Yuuna?"

Yuuna was thinking when she heard Layla's question.
"Well; But it's just been fixed, it's not new." Yuuna said half-heartedly. Yuuna set the the rocks around in a large circle. She gathered a little bit of dead grass and such that was around her.
She made a pile of twigs and dry grass around her. She pulled the flint and steel out of her boot and lit the small pile. It started smoking, she began to blow on it a little. Small flames started to burn the twigs and grass.

Yuuna looked up and sniffed, the hot spring was a little ways away, not too far so she could bathe later.

"Well, it's as good as new." Layla said.

Jayden returned with everything and set it next to the fire that Yuuna had already started. She brushed off her hands and sat next to Layla. "How's your ankle?"

"Okay, I guess. It hurts to walk, but it's okay right now."

Jayden nodded her head. "You need help with anything, Yuuna?"

Yuuna looked at Jayden and smiled, "Not at the moment."
"Your right it is as good as new." She said to Layla smiling.
Yuuna took a bit more needles, twigs and dead grass from the ground before putting the smallest piece of woodon the fire, she continued to blow on it and made the flames bigger.
Yuuna pulled out some jerky, tore off a chunk and ate it.

Layla laid down on the ground and sighed. She looked over at Starlight. She seemed bored, too. She was just sitting there. Layla sighed again and looked at Yuuna. 'She must get bored traveling alone.' She thought.

"Layla, is something wrong?" Jayden asked.

"No. Nothing."

When Yuuna had a good fire going she annouced, "I'm going to take a bath." Then she got up and took her sack with her. Yuuna headed northeast in the direction of the light sulfur smell to a well hidden hotspring.

Yuuna hung up the bag and began undressing. There were two scars on her back that sort of resembled wings in a way. Yuuna's skin was a lgiht cream color under her robes. She lowered herself into the water in a deep enough part to cover up to her neck. Yuuna sighed in relief, she worked herself up with worry because of Layla and that dog, but she liked having someone to worry about.

Layla moved closer to the fire, being careful not to hurt her ankle. Jayden had offered to help, but Layla insisted that she do it herself.

"Yuuna seems so different." Layla said.

"Huh?"

"It's like ever since that stupid dog tried to attack me, she's been a little freaked out."

"That's because she didn't want anything to happen to you."

"You're not freaked out."

"No. That's because I know you too well to care. I know you're annoying and stubborn and-"

"Jayden, I'm serious."

"Well, maybe you remind her of someone."

"What are you talking about?"

"Like, what would you do if Yuuna reminded you of Mom? If she looked a lot like her. You know? Maybe you look like someone Yuuna used to know."

"I guess."

Yuuna did remind Layla of her mother. Not by her looks, but by her actions. The way she jumped down into the hole with her to save her from the dog and cared for her ankle. It reminded her so much of her mother. She guessed that was why she threw the dirt in the dog's eyes. Because she didn't want to see her "mother" die again.

Yuuna looked at the stars above her through the tree tops. Layla reminded her of her only apprentice. Yuuna was a little too over confident in her apprentice's abilities. She had taken her only apprentice, who was about thirteen herb hunting with her.

A group of bandits had been in the same area that Yuuna had to go. They thought that the two wemon were easy targets and ambushed them. Yuuna's apprentice fired a shot when they dropped down from the trees. Yuuna's apprentice was shot by an answering arrow, but she recieved it in the chest.

The bandits took everything Yuuna had of value and ran off. When Yuuna saw that her apprentice was really dead, she cried for three days. The young girl's body was burned the day Yuuna returned, on foot, to the her home. Yuuna had traveled alone since then, almost fifteen years, until she picked up Layla and Jayden.

Jayden reminded Yuuna of a girl she never knew, the girl ran from home. The girl join up with the priestess's until she was kicked out, when she accidently spilled all the herbs on a busy street and they were all destroyed by hooves or human feet.

Layla looked at her ankle again, hoping it could have gotten better in a matter of minutes. But it looked the same, of course. "Jayden, how long will I not be able to walk?"

"Just a few days, I guess."

"That's too long..."

Jayden laughed briefly and went to lay beside her. "Whatcha thinkin' about?"

"Yuuna reminds me of Mom."

Jayden thought about this for a moment. She was thikning the same thing. "Yeah, she does, doesn't she?"

"Isn't that scary?"

"No. It's just destiny."

"Destiny?"

"That we're traveling with her now."

"So, this is like a second chance to be with Mom?"

"I guess you could say that." They both liked the idea of Yuuna being like a second chance. What more could they ask for?

Yuuna scrubbed her hair and dunked underneath the water. She stood up and got out of the water. She wrapped a robe around her, put light shoes on her feet, and a cloth around her hair, putting it up, her ears showed completely.

She began walking back to the camp only to hear the girls talking.
"Yuuna reminds me of Mom." Layla's voice said. Yuuna stopped.
A brief pause then, "Yeah, she does, doesn't she?" Said Jayden.
"Isn't that scary?"
"No. It's just destiny."
"Destiny?"
"That we're traveling with her now."
"So, this is like a second chance to be with Mom?"
"I guess you could say that."
Yuuna smiled to herself. She walked back to the girls and sat down.

Layla looked up at Yuuna. "Hi, Yuuna!"

Jayden smiled up at her from her spot on the ground. She still continued to lay down. "I would take a bath, but I'm so tired!"

"Me, too. But, we need to talk to Yuuna some. We've been justa talking without her."

"Okay. So-"

"How ya doin'?"

Yuuna stoked the fire and put more wood on it. Sundown was coming slowly. Yuuna looked at Layla, "I'm fine, why do you ask?" Yuuna smiled at them both.

Yuuna was in better spirits now, she had never been refered to as a reminder of a mother. She liked it.
