Mi looked back at him. "I'm practicing my sword play," she told him, not about ot confess the truth that she couldn't use her magic until she was completely dry.

"Manual labor burns up fat," she commented, though no fat needed to be burned on her body.

Damien smiled and drove his blade right by her side. He seemed to be stabbing her but the blade just missed as it stabbed the Raith that was rushing up behind her.

"Looks like you're lucky I was here..." he said twirling back behind her, cutting down the last of the persistent Raiths.

"Maybe," she said as she plopped back down on the hard earth, taking a deep breath. "I was sleeping so good, that really pisses me off." She sighed, cleaning the sword on one of the dead bodies. "Well, I'm guessing they didn't like the fact a woman escaped them. There will probably not be anymore, they execpt a small Raith group like this to bring in one woman and kill one man."

"Well," he mused, "At least they don't have to worry about people laughing at them for not succeeding." He took a seat on the cool ground. It was still rather dark and daylight seemed a ways off. He cleaned his stolen blade then twirled it around in the air.

"I suppose I could keep this until I get my own made," he said. He rekindled the fire in the hole to have a little light. Dead bodies surrounded them. "Do you want to stay here or move on along?" He personally didn't care. He wasn't going back to sleep.

He stood up and walked over to one of the corpses. He removed the Raith's belt and put it on himself. Placing the sword in the sheath that now hung at his side.

Mi sighed, lifting up her saddle onto Firehearts back. "I guess the smell of corpses wouldn't be a pleasant thing to wake up to," she said, not that she really cared. Plus, moving around would make her dry off quicker. "Well, lets go."

She turned back to the fellow Fire Mage. "Unless you're too tired," she said, smiling devilishly. "If you are, I'm sure I can slow down for you."

She mounted her horse in one graceful movement, her cloak billowing behind her. She grabbed the hood and lifted it over her head, concealing her beautiful face. "Come on, I'm sure you can keep up with me."

Damien watched as she mounted her horse. He really regretted killing his pathetic beast now. He didn't really feel like summoning anything to ride. However, he couldn't imagine getting back on Firehearts rough rear end.

"I'm sure I can muster some energy up 'til we get a little distance between us and the dead." he said trying to think of what he was going to do.

Mi looked down at him with a rather sour expression. "Alright, if you say so," she said and kicked her horse into a gallop. "See you when you get there," she said behind her and stopped a hundred yards or so away. Dismounting again and taking a seat on the hard stone dessert ground. No longer sand, but stone.

Damien watched as she trotted a little ways ahead and stop. He shrugged and began walking. It wasn't that far, and he would get there quick enough. He walked at a steady pace, in no hurry to get there.

He plopped on the ground beside Mi and smiled. "Now that was a lot better than riding on the back of that thing." He nodded towards Fireheart. He didn't make a fire. The air was now brisk and comfortable. He threaded his fingers and propped his head back on a stone staring up at the stars.

Mi looked at him for a moment. "Watch it, he might kick you for that comment," she said and laid flat on her back on the ground.

She was still wondering why she slept with him, and what the point had been. Was she really in that bad of a need for a lay? No... It was something different. She knew she didn't want to, but for some reason she trusted him.

Mi's comment passed over him quickly as he drifted off to sleep. The day had been long and it took a toll on his body and mind.

The next morning Damien rose early. A red veil covered the earth as the morning sun reflected off of the clouds. Mi still slept, Fireheart at her side. H didn't bother her and went out scouting the landscape before they set out again.

Mi rolled over in her sleep, pulling her cloak around her shoulders and getting comfortable in her sleep. She slept under the hot sun peacefully. To other people it would drive them insane how hot it was. Mi loved it, and this didn't bother her.

She sighed content in her sleep, yawning slightly.

Damien had wandered about 300 yards before hunger began clawing at his stomach. He clutched it to try and calm it. He hadn't eaten for a while now and it was beginning to catch up to him.

He got back to the camp to find Mi still sleeping peacefully. He didn't won't to wait around much longer. Food was his number one priority right now, and getting to the nearest village or town to find an inn or tavern.

"Wake up!" he said as he pulled the cloak from her petite body. "We've got to get somewhere to eat."

Mi jerked awake as if someone were attacking her. She drew a dagger from her belt and stuck it to his throat. "Don't do that," she said, a bit aggrivated at being woke up from a deep sleep. "What is it with you and waking me up when I'm sleeping," she said as she tiredly sat up. She pulled herself limply to her feet.

For some reason her body felt heavy and drained of all energy, but that is probably because she only got about an hours rest.

"Alright, alright, lets get going," she said, about to mount Fireheart when she stopped. "Why don't you guide him and I'll ride behind you. I'm not in the mood." She lied... she really was planning on falling a sleep again.

Damien stared at her tired face. He didn't want to walk to the next town and certainly didn't want to ride on the back of Fireheart again. "Alright," he agreed.

He couldn't believe she had pulled a knife on him. He laughed to himself then mounted the horse. He extended a hand down to help her mount behind him.

Mi got on behind him, placing her hands reluctantly on his hips to hold on. Though, there was no way Fireheart would act up with her on his back, but galloping would be a problem. "So Arroes?" she asked, wondering if that was where they were heading after all. "Why Arroes?"
