Lore: Forgotten Enemies

The city closest to the border. It is a city filled with traveling people and inns that hold many of the roughest people in Ighten. It's a good place to find weapons and an even better place to find trouble.

Soran frowned. "Exactly where is this place?"

"It's about one mile north of Hepian, in the Ashgrown forest. The bandits have found a cave with an intricate system to use as their hideout," he responded. "Chances are they'd have treasure there too, so if we do well enough, you may be able to walk away with more than just my 5 gold."

Soran thought for a moment. "I'm familiar with the place, and the group. If we take my route, we can take care of it tonight and return in the morning." The rogue wasn't particularly interested in treasure, but the stipend appealed to him. "Can you fight?" he asked frankly, looking to see if he had a weapon on him.

Jhaptal pat the kodachi on each of his hips. "Yeah, I'd say I was a pretty decent fighter," he replied. "There's just too many of them for me to handle alone."

"Understood," Soran confirmed, sipping his drink. The bandit group had been causing a lot more trouble than it was worth in the area, anyway. It was probably a matter of time before a confrontation took place, and he'd end up in the middle of it one way or another. "At one, then," he confirmed, lapsing back into silence as he took slow sips of his drink. He never really drank in the mornings, but it was good to have something to work on while he woke up fully.

Jhaptal nodded. "Alright then," he said, and placed down the money for both his own food and the drink that Soran had. "At one." Jhaptal left the tavern and went off to buy some supplies.

Siren smiled thinking about her conversationn with Soran, goign into the bathroom to preen for the day.
Mizuki

Mizuki had finished spinning her tale finally. She noticed hearing the grunts of people and the scraping of chairs across the floor as they had realized her tale was finished and resumed whatever they had been doing. She blushed slightly, realizing she had had an audience.

Red was still sitting there, holding Blade who had now spotted Soran over Red's shoulder and squealed in delight as he squirmed out of Red's grasp. Red, startled for the moment went to grab the kid again but Mizuki stopped him.

"It's fine, he's just going to Soran." She said, a dreamy tone in her voice. Red picked up on it.

"Soran's more to you than you're lettin on." Red commented slyly, making Mizuki blush more. She knew she couldn't hid anything from him, so she nodded timidly. "Then why do you shy away?" Mizuki sat there, her red slightly pink, thinking.

"I guess... because I don't want to scare him away?"

"I doubt you could." Red said leaning back in his chair, smirking. "That guy's too tense and quite possibly so oblivious to his own emotion's, that he would never even know what you mean when you mention love to him." he chuckled softly at his own joke but Mizuki watched him, a slightly serious and dreamy expression on her face.

"How could I get him to see?" she asked a bit too anxiously, causing her to squeek softly, turn red and cover her mouth. Red chuckled and leaned over the table, he motioned for Mizuki to come in closer and when she did he began to whisper things into her ear.

Soran held the rim of his shotglass to his lips, not bothering to actually drink from it. He was still thinking about what Siren had told him. His eyes drifted back to where Mizuki was sitting. Now, she and this Red person were leaning across the table, their faces almost touching. "Liar," he mumbled ambiguously. He looked back at his drink and the coins that had been left on the table, wishing he didn't have to leave town tonight.

A soft tug on his pant leg made him look down to find Blade there. He bent down and lifted the child into his lap, setting his unfinished drink on the table. There were very few patrons this early in the morning, but he could feel eyes drilling into the back of his head as the unfriendly rogue was seen with a young child in his lap.

Rai grinned and began to sneak up behind Soran, crawling across the floor and dodging people who didn't see her. She reached out and slowly pulled on the strings of his boots and untied them, glancing up to see if he was noticing. She pulled them to the legs of the chair and wrapped them around the legs a few times before tying them like most little children tie knots; in the most impossible knot to ever get out. She then launched herself up and grinned at Soran.
Mizuki

Mizuki sat back down with a pink face. "Do I really need to do that?..." she gulped. "And wear that?.." Red shrugged, clearly he was enjoying this.

"I guess you can go without the skirt..." he reasoned, jokingly. Mizuki frowned at him.

"The entire outfit idea is horrible!" she said, more outraged then she intended.

Soran looked at Rai suspiciously as she randomly reappeared from wherever she'd been before. "Something up?" he asked warily.
Mizuki

"It can't be that bad!" Red protested. He really wanted to see his little "sister" dress up to her full potential.

"It is bad! It's just a corset and stockings! With A skirt so short that there's no point to it!" Mizuki practically yelled, drawing attention to their table. "I wont do that!"

Rai giggled and looked up. "The sky is up!" she told Soran, snickering and giggling so hard she couldn't breath.

Soran had to put off figuring out what Rai was up to - and she was up to something - for the moment to look over at the commotion at Mizuki's table. He looked at Mizuki blankly. He'd only caught the last few words of the conversation: something about a skirt so short that there was no point to it. This, combined with her outrage, made the rogue wonder what was going on. He didn't trust the man she was sitting with. He decided to carry Blade back to her and see if something was wrong.

He pushed his chair back and stood up, feeling immediately that something was wrong. Unfortunately for him, he'd already taking a step forward. He stumbled as the chair tangled on his legs, barely catching his weight by grabbing onto a neighboring chair. The rogue looked down at his shoelaces, and up at Rai warningly. "Fix those," he said flatly to Rai, one ear still tuned to Mizuki's situation.
