Lore: (mature)To The End of The World part 1

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

"Possibly the one who wants your return so badly?" That got Kat's attention.

"What do you mean?" She asked, "Return? How would you know?" She didn't mean to sound so interested. Kat thought it was better that they had parted when he became engaged..

"How would I know? Give me some credit, girl," Dan scoffed. "It's all over the place. Some lord or other paying quite a respectable sum for the safe return of a prized female slave... And that slave is, naturally, you." She jerked a thumb at Drakoe. "If this guy here had managed to kill your current master, I'd've snuck off with you and handed you over myself. No sense in letting him get all the credit. But you see there's no cause to worry about that yet."

Kat blinked. He wanted her back? He was looking for her and offering people money to find her? Why? He was married! Kat was stunned so bad she didn't respond at first.

Still shocked, she finally said in a tiny voice, "I can't go back.."

"Why not?" Drakoe conveniently budded into the conversation. He had been partly listening and got rather caught up in the middle of it. He had climbed up on a low branch of the cedar tree in which the eagle had flown out of and took a seat.

Kat felt rather uncomfortable talking about it. "I just can't.." she mummbled, refusing to spill her entire life's story. Too many people knew anyway, and they wouldn't understand. Master's just didn't fall in love with their slaves...

Even after being betrothed.

Dan snorted. "That's not much of a reason." She studied Kat's expression for a moment, then nodded once, thoughtful. "I've no further questions. For now. Where did your master take himself to?"

Kat was gratefull that Dan wouldn't push her further. It was too hard to talk about. "He lives upon the border..." Kat turned to look at Dan and eyed her suspicously. "Are you taking me back there?"

"No, no, I mean your current master. I can't take you anywhere until we deal with him." She did file away Kat's assumption for later reference - the girl did seem quite preoccupied with her old master. Some tragic tale of romance, then? How stereotypically human.

OOC: XP that's me not taking the time to read correctly

Kat blinked. "Oh," She had been too hasty to really think about what Dan had said. "I do not know. He just said he would be back a time later and to wait for him here."

"How... helpful," Dan said, frowning slightly. "Don't suppose he'd be too happy about it if I waited about, too. Seems like the best part of the show is over..." She looked at Drakoe as she said this, smirking a little, then turned her attention back to Kat, wanting to see how the human would react to her statement.

Kat blinked, confused. She stood up and felt the collar around her neck. It stopped glowing.

"You can stay a little while." She told them. Though she figured Drakoe would stay either way. "I don't mind... at least until Master Zeikiel comes back..."

"Your collar," Dan observed astutely. She stared at it for several moments, then shook her head. "Yes. Well. I guess I'll continue to grace you with my presence awhile longer, then."

"You know," Drakoe yelled from the treetop. "You should really teach your master some social skills." He had climbed to the tops of the trees for a better view of his surroundings.

"How much longer do you think he will be?" he asked as he peered off into the distance. "I don't see him from up here." Not that he would see him coming through the forests thick canopy.

"I do not truely know," Kat replied wondering why it was so important to them to harass her master. "And I doubt I could teach my master any social skills." she remarked, actually giggling a little.

"Well, you'll never know until you try, huh?" Dan asked, grinning. Then she shrugged and said in a confidential stage-whisper, "Though I don't blame you for not trying. He's kinda scary when he gets all pissy."
