Lore: Searching- part 2
The man pulled a roll of bandages from his pocket and gave Skye a look. "Relax." he said and moved to bind Mitsukai's wound. "Your wings will have to heal on their own."
Mitsukai found it surprising that this man's touch was gentle, even though they are enemies. "Try anything and I'll set you on fire." she warned and the man smirked and backed away.
"All done your highness." he mocked, bowing to her. "Now follow me or we'll all die in this heat."

Skye still didn't trust him. Even if he did bandage up Mitsukai's wound, and he especially didn't like him mocking her. He didn't say anything though; It seemed pointless.
"Does it still hurt?" he asked Mitsukai.
He wondered if the man even knew what he was doing when he bandaged her up. But then, he felt a sudden pain in his ankle. When he looked down, he saw that a snake had bit him. He saw that it was a cobra. Weren't those supposed to be poisonous? How would he portect Mitsukai, now?
"Aah! A cobra! Mitsukai, get away from it!" he yelled.

Mitsukai stared down but the man kept walking. She only panicked about Skye's ankle.
"Skye!" she cried out. She snapped her finger's and the snake was flung somewhere else. In the monastary that had found her, they taught her everything about all kinds of poisons. She was already on her knee's, ignoring the sheering pain in her side, and squeezing the bite mark on his ankle. The wound oozed blood mixed with the injected.. she would have to get water on this soon.
"Do you have any water on you!?" she calle out to the man who was a few feet away from them. He didn't answer but turned around and watched them. An amused smirk on his lips.

He hated that smirk he was always giving. Kind of like he planned all of this. But that was impossible, wasn't it?
"Mitsukai, don't freak out. I'll be fine. Don't hurt that wound. Okay?"
He grabbed her shoulders and gently shook her as he said this. He didn't really know if he would be okay. The snake was poisonous, and if they didn't get water on it soon, he would die.

Mitsukai didn't answer him and continued to pinch the wound.
"If we don't keep moving the heat will have you both." the man called to them both. Mitsukai growled and sat back and ripped the hem of her shirt into a strip as a make-shift bandage. She tied it around his ankle tight then stood up.
"Let's make up for lost time." she said and took Skye's hand in her's and walked quickly with him through the sand.

Skye's ankle still hurt, and the heat didn't help. He ignored the pain and continued to walk beside Mitsukai with his arm around her. She was walking quickly and it was hard for him to keep up, but he didn't slow down. The man seemed to be amused at the fact that he had got bitten by the snake. But, why wouldn't he? If Skye died, it would be easier to kill Mitsukai. Skye couldn't stand that. They had to get to water soon. What if the man was only leading them deeper into the wilderness? And he would sacrifice his own life to kill them? It made sense. Perfect sense. He wondered if he should tell Mitsukai what he thought was going on, but saw that she was already mad enough.
He leaned over and whispered in her ear, "I love you," hoping it would calm her down.
Skye rested his head on top of hers and pulled her closer with the arm he already had around her. Then, he kissed her temple and rested his head on hers once again. Who cared what this idiot guy thought?

"I love you." Skye whispered and she blinked and looked at him. Did he know he might die? Did he know that they all might die?! Why was he telling her that now?
The man was walking farther in front. He knew that they wouldn't try to escape in this barren land if the way they were going meant shelter and water. He was leading them true, why lie if he was just going to kill them both when they got there.
"Why haven't you killed her yet?"
"She's weak," he answered tellephathically. "I want some sport in this."
"If you fail your soul will be shattered."
"Your threats grow old master.... but I understand." The connection went silent. He would have to kill them soon or have his own soul pay the price for his negligence.
"Skye we'll live..." Mitsukai reassured him.

He wished he could be sure of that, and deep inside, he knew she wasn't sure either. They weren't having very much luck. First, this idiot shot her. Second, they have to follow him in order to live...he guessed. And third, he gets bit by a poisonous snake!
Such a wonderful day, he thought sarcastically.
"Well," he told Mitsukai, "whatever happens, it's fate and destiny."

"No, but sometimes its for the best. Even if we don't realize it."
Not only was he telling her that, but he was telling himself. He only hoped this man wouldn't decide that he would kill Mitsukai now because he was weak. He brushed it off after a while though and momentarily scratched Mitsukai's back while they walked. All the while glaring with hatred at the man walking in front of them.
"What do you think is going to happen?" he whispered.

"A little."
But then he thought about what she said about battling for there lives.
"You're not about to battle him alone. We're in this together. Even if I did get bit by a snake."
That's when the dizzyness really got to him and he nearly collapsed into the sand. But he brought himself back up. He couldn't let the dizzyness take him over. He couldn't.

Mitsukai felt him fall over and she steadied him back on hi feet.
"Forget fighting in your condition! Besides it's my battle." she told him seriously. The man in front of them stopped walking and pointed out in front of him. There was a sparkling lake of clear water with some plant life surrounding it. One of the rare lakes in a dessert, but it was real enough. There was a set up of some big tents and he lead them there without a word..

At first, he thought he was dreaming. Or it was just a mirrage. But he let Mitsukai help him towards the water where she would tend to his wound. Then, what she said about him not fighting finally registered.
"No, I'm fighting with you. You won't stop me. I love you. And if you were wounded in battle, I would never forgive myself. Never. I must...I must..."
He was out of breath and almost lost conciousness. He closed his eyes for a moment and looked at her through tearful eyes. He couldn't lose her. Not unless he went with her. He couldn't imagine living the rest of his life without her charming beauty and her laughter and everything about her. He loved the way she fit perfectly into his arms. And the way she buried her hands in his hair when they kissed. He loved how she was so confident in everything she did. He loved her. Then, he lost conciousness and collapsed into the sand.

Mitsukai stared back, deep into his eyes. The man rolled his eyes at them but wouldn't let them out of his sight now, so he rested against a tree watching them. Mitsukai cried out when he collapsed.. the poision was begining to take affect. Quickly, she scooped some water into her hand and poured it onto his wound. She pinched it while she did this and some puss oozed out.
"It's working..." she breathed happily. She could feel his life stop fading but he'd be unconcious for another 20 minute's. She replaced the bandage on it after the puss stopped oozing out, then she started cleaning her own wounds..
