Lore: Betrayel

This is the Border that most of the people in Arken want to cross. People in Ighten are not allowed to cross it unless under orders by the Queen herself. The mountain is always covered in snow.

Airen started a fire on the mountain peek. The night air bit and gnawed at thier necks. Airen sat down next to Lenna in the back portion of the cave where they had decided to make camp. It has been three weeks since Elena's kidnapping.

He missed her greatly but his feelings were starting to run together. He and Lenna had grown closer and closer over the past couple of weeks.

He placed an arm around her, "Don't you wish you would have just left us that night you saved us?" he asked jokingly.

Lenna smiled back,"Oh yes, and then I wouldn't have had to go through all the trouble of searching for your precious Elena over these rocky moutains,"she giggled jokingly. "How long do you think it will be until we get to where she is?"

It had been a long journey to the Border, but Lenna didn't care. She had spent the majority of her life wanting to roam the country and now she was grabbing life by the horns. Not only was she doing what she loved, she had also made a new friend.

Airen sighed, "I don't know... Hopefully not too much longer."

He walked over to their belongings and picked up a deer skin blanket they had brought from the house.

He handed Lenna the blanket, "We don't want you getting cold," he said with a comforting smile.

Airen took a seat again and unsheated his sword. He retrived a stone from his pocket and began sharpening the blade.

The cold air was bringing back memories of his mother. He heard her voice in the air. His heart ached with pain but he concealed his feelings from Lenna. He had to keep his focus on finding Elena.

Lenna took the blanket and smiled back at Airen thankfully. The air had turned a bitter cold, one that Lenna wasn't used to. She shivered inside the blanket and scooted closer to the fire they had built upon arrival in the cave. There was a question that had lingered in Lenna's mind for quite some time now. She couldn't hold back any longer. Hoping not she asked," Do you think Elena had the babe yet? Isn't there a possible chance that she could be tortured after the baby's born?"

Worry was over whelming, but watching Airen and his swift, calm movements comforted Lenna somewhat. She didn't know why, but she felt he knew what he was doing. Had he been here before?

Airen's steady strokes stopped at the question. "Do you think Elena had the baby yet?Isn't there a possible chance that she could be tortured after the baby's born?"

He looked up Lenna. "I don't know..." he said depressingly. "I don't think she is far enough along yet though." He thought about the other question a moment but didn't answer.

"Would you like to something cool?" he asked changing the subject. The fire began to grow. Airen smiled at Lenna.

"Sure," Lenna said with a unexpecting, curious smile. She wondered what would happen next.

Airen smiled, "Okay." He took her by the hand and lifted her to her feet. He pulled her close to him.

The fire rose to a great height. It spiraled down and twisted around them pushing Lenna a little closer to him.

"Hang on," he said softly. They slowly rose from the ground encircled by the enchanted fire. They shot up towards the stars. The fire now seemed to be wings and to anyone looking form below they would seem like a great pheonix soaring through the night sky.

"It's beautiful from up here, isn't it?" he whispered softly in her ear. The moon was full and showed Heirot's features magnifcantly.

Chills ran through and over Lenna's body in nervous excitment. Her mind went blank as to what to do next. Airen's closeness made her numb all over as it seemed, yet very alert. She slowly looked around into the space provided as if in a trance. A soft smile formed on her lips as Airen whispered,"It's beautiful up here isn't it?"

She turned her head and meet his gaze. His eyes were blazing. "Yes, it is beautiful." She seemed to lose herself to his deep, passionate gaze.

The stars reflected brightly in Lenna's eyes. She seemed to be glowing in the moonlight.

The flames now encircled them again. It wasn't hot at all but it was burning brightly.

His heart raced as he took both of Lenna's hands now. His thoughts were now lost in the moment. He held her gaze as he slowly pressed his lips to hers. The flames grew higher as he kissed her passionately.

Lenna's thoughts ran rapidly as Airen's eyes glistened with power and mystic. But when his lips touched hers, her mind fell quiet. As they lingered together in this heavenly body, Lenna cared for nothing. Her toughness the wilderness had taught her melted away. She felt like a woman should, beautiful, graceful, fragile. Her hair had fallen to her shoulders and was blowing in the wind thrown off by the fire around them. The world was no where around.

When his lips left hers she wondered what made him do it. Well, they had been around one another for quite a while now, but was that all. From that moment on she'd never look at Airen the same. He was no longer the love sick victim of Shea's rage running after a loved one, but a strong willed warrior looking for revenge. He was now the leader of this journey and she...the follower.

Airen's blood burned with passion as it flowed through his body. It had been so long since he held a woman in his arms. He had a hunger that he couldn't fight down any longer.

He felt the firm ground underneath his feet again. The flames were gone but his eyes still burned with desire. He held her close. He softly brushed a brown lock of hair from in front of her face.

He stared into her deep green eyes. "You're beautiful," he whispered. As he kissed her again, a fire of desire and passion burned within him.

Lenna stirred in the fur blankets they were sleeping on. She was sure she looked a mess. As she sat up, she looked over her shoulder at Airen lying next to her. She thought to herself about the passion that was shared the night before with a smile. Her head hung low however, because she knew he had another on his mind, or else they wouldn't be looking for her.

Was it even Elena he was looking for now? Did he still love her? Lenna's heart almost broke in half trying to think of these unanswered questions. Airen didn't seem to share much of his feelings or his past. It was okay in the beginning but what was not told, now, constantly plagued her mind. Who was this stranger within him and why was he being so secretive?

She gathered her clothes and stepped to the edge of the cave. The snow had stopped falling and the wind ceased. An eerie presence enveloped the area. "That's odd," she thought," the weather is never this placid here."

Lenna walked outside the cave walls and looked around to make sure they were alone. "Maybe it's just being here, in Arroes, that makes things so eerie." She shrugged, turned around and walked back into the cave where Airen was sleeping.

She knelt down next to his slumbering body. He was warm and peaceful-looking. Such a handsome man. She placed a tender hand on his shoulder and leaned over to where her lips would almost touch his ear. She whispered in a soft voice," Airen, my love, wake up. It's sun-up. We need to be on our way."

He softly placed his hand over hers. Her gentle words sent a chill down his spine.

He rolled over still holding her hand and looked into her eyes. The morning sun was blinding. She was still as lovely as ever.

"We don't have to leave right now," he whispered back. He pulled her down beside him and wrapped an arm around her. "It's so nice and warm right here."
