By the fluttering of her eyes and the shaking of her body, Siren knew that things were going very badly. She hurriedly ran upstairs, ripped the blankets off of the beds, and brought them back downstairs, wrapping Rai up like a catterpillar.
She wanted to go make somthing hot for her to drink, but did't want to leave the child alone for too long, so she just rubbed the girls arms through the blanket, trying to encourage blood flow through her upper body and warm her up.
"It'll be ok, just hold on a little longer, kid," she said, her voiced strained.

Marelda cast a critical stare at Mizuki, and then to Blade with his unmistakable resemblance to Soran, then flashed her eyes to Soran and returned to Blade and Mizuki. "Irresponsible even in your private affairs, I see," she criticized the rogue bitterly. "What business do you have bringing a child into the world. Can you even protect the mother?"
Soran's eyes narrowed, but he only said "This is an emergency. Increase your pace, if you're able." An implicit insult lay behind the stern words, rousing an indignant glare from Marelda.
"Just because I work in a respectable profession doesn't mean I can't handle physical activity," she declared curly to both Mizuki and Soran.
"Then run!" Soran barked, dark anger pulsing through his voice.
Fear flashed through Marelda's eyes for a moment, and was then coated over with indignance. "I'll take no orders from either of you," she snapped, but broke into a run alongside them. Her gaze shifted again to Mizuki on her left, looking irate and disapproving. She wondered how this woman had ended up a companion to a dangerous low-life like Soran, and if the child they were going to save was her first child whom Soran had beaten too hard, and how she had come to wind up with his child (perhaps it had been a rape? Was she trapped with him now?). No, this woman had an attitude. She was probably a fool who didn't know how to avoid an attractive man, even when it was for her own good.

Mizuki beared the woman's unapproving stares and glances and kept her pace with Blade. Let the woman think what she wants, it'll be disproven. Mizuki rushed with them towards the house and shouted to alert the others when they finally in sight of it.
"We're coming!" she shouted and wasted no time with the woman. She rushed into the house and quickly found Siren trying to warm up and bundled Rai. It wasn't hard to see the blood seeping and drying through the blanket and to the floor. Mizuki stopped and stared breathlessly.
Tensho had harmed Rai?.... a child?

A wave of relief washed over Siren as she heard Mizuki's voice. She quickly moved out of the way as they entered the house with the healer.
"You must hury, there isn't any time. I've done what I could, but I couldn't close the wound because of the certain blood poisoning it would induce." She shrugged helplessly, uncovering the wound but keeping the rest of Rai's body under the blankets. She prepared to loosen the ribbon she was holding onto the child through mental suggestions as soon as the healer needed.

When they entered the room, Soran's attention flew straight to Rai, whose color had worsened in the short time they'd been gone. He went quickly to her side and knelt next to her, placing a light hand on the side of her head. He looked back at Marelda firmly.
Marelda looked at the child in astonishment. Who would have harmed such a young girl? Then she remembered that this girl was affiliated with Nightblade, and it all made sense. Anger glossed over her delicate face, but she went quickly to Rai and began inspecting her leg while attempting to clear her mind in preparation for the strong spell she would need to heal her.

"I'm here," Soran spoke with a gentleness that was difficult to expect from his harsh expression.
"You ought to stay back and give her space. This is a taxing spell," Marelda said disapprovingly as a small orb of blue light began forming between her cupped hands over Rai's leg, unable to see anything but a thug disturbing a wounded child. A whole stream of outraged criticisms formed in her throat at the thought of the danger he'd subjected the child to, but she did not give voice to them, yet. It would take too much focus from her spell.

Siren stood back a bit, clutching her hands in front of her chest. She soon found that they were shaking, but not so much out of fear for Rai.
Now that a healer was here and Rai was being taken care of, a sort of rage had entered Siren, and she felt like she could hardly contain herself in one spot.
She wanted to kill Tensho and whoever it was he was affiliated with. Not only for Rai, but for disgracing herself and abusing her trust as well. It didn't help that she had sensed the danger and done nothing about it.

Soran's fingers wrapped securely around Rai's, assuring that he was not going anywhere. He looked back at Marelda with a look that asserted that he wasn't leaving, though it lacked anger.
"...Fine," the healer gave up, afraid to push her luck with the notorious rogue too far. "Child, try to relax your mind. The more you open up, the better the spell will work," she said gently, and the light beneath her hands began to grow, spin and expand, slowly losing its shape and flattening, merging into the contours of her leg. Once it had established itself, the whitemage closed her eyes and focused, beginning the complex spell that required all her concentration and would take about ten minutes to complete. Already, though, it was taking care of the worst of the damage, repairing the severed nerves that would otherwise never recover. Unfortunately, that phase - between the time the nerves were reformed and the time the tissue healed - would be extremely painful in comparison to the dullness Rai was previously feeling. She hoped the young girl could bear with it and avoid moving too much.

Rai gripped Soran's hand tighter and whimpered, her upper body shirting slightly as she felt a dull ache. The more the healing process went on the more the dull ache grew.
"Oww..." she shifted again.
Then her leg really began to hurt and she was squeezing Soran's hand as hard as she could. "No.. that hurts," Rai said, her eyes still half closed.
She tried to move her leg away from the woman who didn't seem to be helping her at all. "Stop it!"

Soran understood the drawbacks of this method of healing, but knowing what would happen didn't seem to thwart the panic he felt as Rai cried out. He almost wanted to stop Marelda, but he knew that now that the nerves were functioning, the only thing that would relieve the pain would be to complete the spell.
Instead of trying to pin her in place, he knew she could do this herself. Forcing her would only scare her more. "Try your best not to move it. The worst will be over very soon," he said to calm her, and placed both his hands in hers. "Keep squeezing. Grab me as hard as you can. Focus on that," he encouraged her as the light around her leg grew still brighter. Despite his composed demeanor, he found himself turning a yearning stare back at Mizuki and Siren. It was impossible to deny it - he was scared. Not only that he was powerless to stop Rai's agony, but that all of this was, for whatever reason, because of him.

Rai did as he told her too. She tried her best to hold onto his hand and consentrate on squeezing it. She knew she didn't have the strength to hurt his hand and could never squeeze it hard enough to do so. She tried her best to stay still, but it was so hard to do. Everything in her told her to jerk her leg away, try and keep it from the woman causing her pain.
It didn't stop her from sheding a few tears, but she wasn't sobbing uncontrollably like most children would be. That was just how Rai was. Pain had never made her cry like most children. Emotional times made her cry worst than being in pain.
