Laya couldn't help feeling so frightened. She couldn't help the dread that filled her heart. But, Kron was dead.... He had turned to dust.... There was no way he was alive. Laya tried to regain her composure, noticing a good deal of people looking at her as if she were crazy. Her face was just as pale as before, her lips matched her face... Her eyes were stormy gray, not hollow like usual.
"I'm... I'm fine. Its... I think I'm coming down with something that’s all..." the archer said. Though, it really wasn't what she was supposed to reply to Neko. She didn't think now was the time or place to explain who "Who" was.
An archer... It was hard to believe who she had been before... a strong woman. Well, she thought at the time she was strong. Kron tore her apart in every way fashionable. He ripped her from the world she had known, the live she had lived... and made her into a whore... a slave. He made her want to die. He made life look as if it was a never ending black hole that swallowed her continuously. Until Telanis. He became the white light in that black hole. A way out.

Telanis hesitated as he neared the edge of the forest that surrounded the city gates, where he had planned to meet the others. It had just occurred to him that he would have to abandon his true form again in order to approach the city, and the thought brought a faint shadow across his face. He arched his neck and sent magic coursing through him, glowing until he regained the form of a human being. His stance faltered slightly as he readjusted to the effort of using his legs, silver hair still hanging in damp dregs over the pale skin of his shoulders and back.
"I assumed you would come here," came a calm voice from beside him.
Telanis turned toward the unexpected speaker, who was leaning casually against a tree a little ahead and to the right of where he stood and facing away. He knew the voice, recognized the dark silk hair and the hate-pain faintly emanating from the other's closed off mind.
"Brother," he said softly, struck by a torrent of conflicting emotions.
"Kind of you to remember. Unfortunately, you seem to forget everything else about me." Telanis narrowed his eyes. "Oh? Am I angering you?" Adonis demanded, harshness creeping into his steady voice, "Or are you simply guilty that you've forgotten how I, how we we betrayed by mankind? You have witnessed their treachery, and felt with your own hide the sting of their persecution, and yet you are standing here, preparing to help them."
"It would seem you've been helping them as well," Telanis countered pointedly, sadly.
"It was necessary for your enlightenment. But here, I find you squandering the lessons I sought to teach you! We are more than this, Telanis. Look at you; you're a mess. Now you are leaving your forest, soaked and exhausted, wearing a human form - I may be base enough to walk on two legs, but you, my brother, are still whole. You are still perfect!"
"I am late," Telanis responded, curbing the pain from his voice, but unable to prevent it from spilling out into his brother's empathic consciousness.
Adonis looked at his brother pointedly for a long moment, then shrugged. "If you insist on going to man's city in that humiliating form, you can take this," he said, throwing a pair of brown pants and a white tunic-shirt with a collar that laced up with a brown cord. "Find your own shoes," the black unicorn added sourly.
Telanis caught the clothing and stared at his brother in confusion as he stood up and began to leave. "Where are you going?"
"To get away from you," Adonis said coldly, and far too calmly for Telanis to bear.
"Adonis!" Telanis called after him, but the other unicorn just walked away without looking back.
Ten minutes later, Telanis was walking down the central avenue inside the gate of Lowight wearing the clothing Adonis had given him, looking for Laya and the others. He kept a mental watch out for traces of their familiar mind patterns, though it was overwhelming how many people were around him here. He had never seen so many people in his life! Jostling slightly in the crowd of people, he finally located a familiar, but unfortunately negative aura that he recognized as Laya's. From the faint aura he felt, he could already tell something was certainly wrong, but how they could have come to harm in such a short time, he wasn't sure. He ran in the direction his instincts told him until he found Neko, Kratos and Tetsumaru gathered around Laya.
Coming swiftly over to them, he worriedly asked, "What's happened?"

Laya was beginning to grow annoyed with everyone asking what was wrong. She shook her head. "Nothing's wrong," she said with a sigh. "I just got a bit sick..." she said, leaving out any parts of seeing Kron or seeing anyone at all. After all they would think she was crazy if she said she thought she saw someone she murdered.
"Lets go... I'm sure we can find a ship thats leaving soon if we hurry..."
Laya said, her eyes falling on Telanis and remaining there. She was so very happy he made it. "Everything went alright for you, right?"

Neko stood up and brushed herself oof, looking worriedly at her friend.
"Will she be alright?" Kratos asked quietly.
"I don't know." said Neko, shaking her head. When Telanis came running up towards them she almost shouted in joy. So he made it. Kratos sighed in relief, but he noted the new clothes.
"Your clothes..." he pointed out

Laya almost smiled. "Yes... they look human," she said in a soft sweet voice. She found it cute sometimes, how he experienced things for the first time and asked such questions...
Laya wobbled on her feet for a moment. She looked around, having a problem remembering where he port was from there direction. She finally remembered and pointed down the main road. "We just keep going that way and follow a road around to the palace... and around behind the Garden Wall... and its on another road from there... Shouldn't take to..." She grew feverish again. "Long."

Laya quickly reached out and grabbed Telanis's hand and pulled him along. When she caught the look in his eyes. "Really," she told him, her gray eyes looking at him. "I just felt a bit sick for a moment, thats all. I promise." It was the truth.
She just didn't want anyone to mention to Telanis, the only person that knew about a man raping her, that she was seeing someone who wasn't really there or at least she hoped wasn't really there.
"Its probably because I'm hungry, or something like that..."

Laya thought for a moment and looked around. "I don't... really want to get on a boat agian..." she admitted. She felt the moment she stepped on that boat that she would really start seeing things.
However, Laya knew what it was like to lose her family, she felt that Kratos and Neko needed to go see there family. Laya was torn between two things, herself and others.
She had always been a person who was for others, but after Kron she was bordering on everything for herself. She didn't want that to happen.
"No... I don't get sea sick," she said. "I just think its because I'm hungry. I'll be alright I'm sure." She smiled faintly, an odd thing that had been happening lately.

Despite herself Laya actually grinned, shaking her head. It was so cute the way the world seemed new to him. "I don't know carrots get pretty rare. All the humans feed them to the unicorns," Laya said in an amused way, realizing that she still had a smile on her face and she had actually made a joke... well, maybe not a funny one. It shocked her into stopping for a moment and thats when she realized she was still holding on to Telanis's hand.
She pulled her hand away, trying not to make it seem as if he had offended her or anything, in truth it was she who feared she might offend him. She still held on to that feeling of evilness, of corruption and she didn't want it to pass to Telanis, a pure creature.
