Lore: (mature) Running Out of Time(Just outside of Hepian)

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

"The Carnival?!" Bejei remembered he was suppose to take her back there. "Ok..." He nodded.

He pulled her along, but with less force this time. He needed her to be safe, and with her safe at the Carnival, he would not need to worry about her. He could fight the lycans without hinderance, and he would kill them.

"This way right." He continued to hold her hands. "Can you see them behind us?"

Mia looked behind them one last time as they turned onto the right path. "No... I don't see them..." she said, glancing down at his hand as she looked back at him.

Why was he still holding her hand? Mia felt slightly strange with him holding her hand, though it didn't bother her at all. In fact she rather liked it.

She guessed he was still holding her hand because he thought she was some weak woman who couldn't handle herself. Most men thought that, and so far Mia hadn't had a chance to prove him wrong, being wounded and now with out a weapon.

She would have told him that she could probably fight better with her hands, but she didn't think he would believe her, so she kept it to herself.

Bejei heard her reply, but he still kept there pace at the same level. He was not going to take any chances since lycans have tremendous speed and strength that could overwhelm him if they all ganged up on him.

He adjusted his hand a little before he let go of Mia's hand. There pace slowed before it became a walk. He believed they had run far enough from those monsters, and everything would be ok from then on.

"Why does this fool persist on killing you? Does he hold a grudge or something?" He replied. "Back there... you caught me in an awkward position. Me being nude and all... Did you see anything while I was changing?" He asked while he stared into her eyes, hoping to catch a lie or the truth.

Mia shook her head. There was many reasons for Keifer coming after her, many of which she didn't want to think about. "He has many reasons. The fact I sicked Teiron on him is one. The fact I refuse him maybe? The fact that he's wanted me for so long and I find him revolting? There are many reasons, Bejei..." she faded off and looked at him as he stated the next part of his question.

Mia flushed slightly, but it went away. "No," she said defensively. "Why? We're you hoping?" she asked, her voice amused.

By the time they reached the carnival it was night time and the carnival sat in an open field just outside the gates into Hepian. It was lit by a path of torches on either side, and small fires were built in between the tents that surounded one large one in the middle.

Bejei knew the guy was a sick and sadistic individual, but he did not know this fool would go so far as to see her dead because he could not have her. That was one stupid reason, but people were crazy like that these days.

He expected her answer was not a lie, but he was a little disappointed that she did not at least take a peek. It was a funny thought, thinking about it though.

"I was not hoping anything..." He smiled at her while the carnival came into view. "There it is. Lets go." He grabbed her hand once again as he walked her over to it.

They greeted Mia at the gate, and welcomed her back. She didn’t feel like explaining her whole situation to all of them. She decided she would act like it never happened. A very short man, coming to about Mia’s knee showed her where they had put her tent up at. It wasn’t very small, but then again it wasn’t very big. She lit some candles and a few lanterns on the inside and it lit up to reveal a cozy looking place with a small table that she could kneel at and eat. Her bed was made from pillows and furs.

A woman came and whispered in her ear. “Its alright, Leah, he’s a friend and its not like dancing is some top secret thing,” she told the woman, who giggled, batting her eyes at Bejei as she walked away.

“She wanted to know if I would dance with the others,” Mia said walking towards a trunk and opening it up. She pulled out a bundle of many types of fabrics that were all the same shade of ruby. “I would rather rest, but Mr. Smith won’t leave me alone until I dance at least one time… Besides I’ve been gone to long. You can watch, like you wanted, you know… I‘ll be right back.”

Mia untied the divider that made a thin curtain between the two halves of the tent. The soft glow on the other side cast her shadow on the cloth divider as she changed into her dancers uniform…”

She came out and walked to the door of the tent. “I’ll even get you front row seats if you want them,” she said smiling, her face had the shiny makeup of a dancer, ruby eye shadow around her eyes and ruby lips that glistened. The uniform was a pair of thin pants that were not form fitting at all. Her top cut off just bellow her breasts, showing off her almost flawless figure more than anything you would ever catch her wearing unless it was a dancers uniform. She had a small stitch in her side where a whole had once been from the broken rib, but it was hard to notice.

Bejei walked beside Mia until they were greeted by the carnival people. He followed her into the tent and waited for her to light the candles so he could better view the inside of the tent. Everything was normal like usual, and he assumed that's the way the lived.

He watched the woman who came in to talk to Mia, and he narrowed his eyes as the woman left. He noticed her eyes were twitching somewhat. Did she have something in her eye? He laughed internally at the thought, but he shifted his attention back to Mia as he heard her talk about dancing. Of course, he wanted to see her dance, and that's the reason why he decided to escort her home.

He patiently waited for her to change attire. His eyes widened with surprised as she came out wearing what he believed to be dancer uniforms. He couldn't believe how incredibly dazzling she looked. He summed up her appearance as beautiful.

"Y... you..." Bejei began to stutter a little before he finally found the words to complete the sentence. "You look amazing."

Mia smiled at him, her miss-matched eyes sparkling. "And that would be the reason we wear these things," she told him, patting his shoulder. "Come on."

Mia led him to a long line heading into the large tent in the middle of the carnival. She walked along side the long line, beckoning Bejei to follow her as she stopped at the beginning, tapping on the shoulder of a heavily musceled man. "Jeff," she said, and his head turned towards her with a stern expression, upon seeing her he softened it.

"Yes?" he asked her, eyeing Bejei behind her as if she might have a problem with him that he needed t solve.

"Take my friend to the front row, make sure he gets a good seat for me will you?" she asked Jeff, smiling dazzeling smile.

"Anything for you," Jeff said and opened up a roped enterance for Bejei to go through.

She left Bejei there heading around to another enterance special for carnival workers and performers.

It wasn't long that everyone was seated and everything was dark in the tent. But, soon, when the time was right the Mr. Smith, the dancing director would whisper two magic words and glowing orbs would illuminate the room with light.

The light revealed a small group of women dressed in ruby colored outfits that left little to the imagenation, but still at the same time seemed decent to the point where one would want to know more.

Mia was the only one with golden colored skin and snow white hair. She stood out a little better than the plain humans, but the uniforms made her blend in like everyone else.

At frist they did nothing but stand in different positions with there heads down. They were taught upon beginning there dance lessons that to get the desired effect choose a few people in the audience to make eye contact during the performance. It kept them coming back for more as well as them dragging there friends along.

Mia already knew who she would make eye contact with. That was mostly because she wanted to mess with his head... well not really. Actually in truth she just wanted to look at him because he was someone she knew...

The song began softly, slowly and the dancers' bodies swayed softly, and slowly in graceful dips and spins. A loud drum began to beat and the drum beat quickened with every beat that grew faster so did the dancers movements, making them go from soft, to a bit more passionate. Then the drums stopped and the music all together. They stayed in there positions... In a blast of loud and powerful music the dancers took flight, though flight into the air, floating up five feet above the ground.

It was Mia's least favorite part about the show, however it wouldn't last very long. The dance in the air was fast and lively that went along with the music. Mia kept tried to find Bejei's eyes whenever she could catch them. It was simple to catch eyes, but harder to keep them for long periods of time.

Catching eyes meant that when someone looks you in the eyes and you meet there eyes they sort of "catch" you. Its very simple to "keep" the eyes because its usually very hard for the person to look away.

"Catching" the eyes for a dancer made it a sort of intraping spell that could be weaved by the dancer. It was an art taught to them by Mr. Smith's wife in secrecy. After all he could not know that the trick got him as a husband.

Soon if one didn't concentrate on a certain dancer the air became filled with swirlling ruby objects that became hypnotic and transfixing. The passionate and lively music didn't help the spell that the dancers unconciously weaved. It wasn't there fault after all that they could be so captivating as to attract attention to the point of a small group being almost obsessed, though the feeling would wear off soon after they were sure.

The dancers floated forward towards the crowd, heading ever downward as they did so. They continued ther dancing of bending and curving there slim elegant bodies along with the music, leaping and spinning... even on the ground it was hypnotic.

Bejei smiled at her before he followed her into a large tent filled with people who came to watch the show. He glanced around at them while he trailed after Mia. He immeidately stopped as she did. He wondered who this Jeff person was, but it's made clear when Mia told the man to take him to the front in order for him to get a better view of the show.

He hated to wait in line so it's a good thing Mia told the guy to let him in. He followed Jeff until he was situated right in front where he could undoubtedly watch the show with little distraction. It was a good seat, and now was his chance to get a view of Mia's dancing. He'd been waited for it ever since she told him she danced.

As the music began, his gaze hardened on Mia's figure. He would only concentrate on her since that's the main reason he came there in the first place. None of the other dancers matter much. He continued to watch as they floated into the air. The event was quite interesting, but he knew there was more to come.

Bejei fixed his eyes on Mia, and he noticed she often glanced in his direction as well. He stared at her since she looked so beautiful. He began to wonder if he had some feelings for her. Maybe he did or maybe he didn't, but he knew he wanted to be close to her.

He watched on as he thought more and more about her. He felt a connection with her, and he hoped she felt the same way. Then as the emotions surfaced, he brushed it aside, wondering if it's the music of dancing that made him at that way. He did not want to explore the sensation any further.

Mia dipped low like the rest of the dancers, doing a sort of graceful cartwheel that caused them to be directly in front of first row once more. Mia smiled at Bejei as they twirled backwards forming a small bunch and pulling something out of the folds of there outfit.

They through it onto the ground and a flash of ruby smoke appeared blocking there view.

No one usually looked up, but if they did they would find that the women were standing on poles at the top and if anyone noticed in the darkness one lone dancers was clining to a wooden pole for dear life until the lights were cut to allow them to come down and run out of the arena.

When they lights came on again no one was on the ropes and poles above the arena and no one but a lone man was standing in the middle of the arena.

"Weren't they lovely?" the man asked, as man stood and clapped. "Yes, yes... Now for our next performance Mego the Demon Taimer..."

A fat man that was so round his belly almost dragged the ground came out from behind a flap, a heavily musceled man was pulling a cage with a demon in it behind him...

Mia didn't have a dressing room or anything, neither did any of the performers, they all went back to there tents. Mia didn't want to go back until she got to Bejei and told him where she was...

But, then again why did she feel she needed to? He was attractive to her... but, there seemed something more.

Someone once told her that you often get a bond between someone who saves your life... Maybe that was it.... Mia opened the flap to the tent and stepped in, standing by the door out.

Bejei's hazel eyes roamed around at the other dancers as well, but he only concentrated on Mia. He was fixated on her and the dances that she was performing. It's an incredible sight to witness, especially since he had never actually seen dancing of that sort before.

He immediately awoke from his trance of infatuation as the smoke impede mostly everyones vision. Everyone except Bejei since he could sense the presence of the dancers moving about. Eventually the confusion ended as the man reappeared while the dancers vanished. He wondered what really happen, but he figured he could ask Mia later.

Bejei yawned as a fat man came out then followed by a muscle man who pushed a cage along. He wondered what trick they intended to show the audience, but his gaze shifted to the entrance as he found Mia, standing there. The dance was over so he decided to leave.

He stood up and made his way over to her. He gave her a weak smile before he spoke. "That was interesting... but I like you... I'm mean I like it." He paushed, letting that one slip out of him, but he continued in order to change the subject. "So what now? Are you tired?"

Mia smiled at him as she looked around. "A little," she told him, catching her breath from the addrinalin rush of dancing in front of hundreds of people. "Would you like to watch the rest of the show?"

She asked because she didn't want him to be cooped up with her unless he wanted to. He didn't seem the type to want to be cooped up inside and neither did she. She didn't want him to be uncomfortable around her, so she tried to accomidae him with what he desired.

"Or do you want to go back to my tent and eat?" she asked pleasently, because the thought of food accured to her once she felt her stomach grumble softly.

She brushed a strand of long white hair from her face, pushing it gently behind her ear.

Bejei returned Mia's smile with one of his own. He shooked his head, indicating that he rather spend time with her than finish watching the rest of the show. He only came there to see her dance anyway, and no one else there really that significant to him.

"Sure. Let's go to your tent." He replied while he walked up to her. "I'm kind of hungry too. I hope the food is good."

He took Mia's hand into his without knowing it as he lead her to the tent. He felt rejuvenated and like a new man, and it showned on his face.

Mia blinked confused as he took her hand, for one because he only ever did it when they were running for danger. But, this gentle act made her smile more to herself than anything. It was something very surprising to her, because he really didn't seem like the type of man to change suddenly. Then again, men were very surprsing.

"It is always good, all I have to do is tell someone what I want and they bring it. I tell you this is a nice life, though it gets very boring... Its why I left in the first place..."

She stopped on the way there to tell someone to bring the food they were serving to her tent and they nodded, going off to fetch it for her.

The inside of her tent hadn't changed from the way she had left it. She plopped down on her bed of pillows and furs, lying back to relax for a moment before sitting up.

"If you want to," she said. "You can stay here tonight... and since you've accomplished what you wanted to do I guess there isn't anything keeping you here after tonight is there?"

Bejei followed her inside after she commanded someone to bring her food in. He was glad they get to some spend time together, but he couldn't quite understand why he felt that way.... and now after so many years.

He watched her from the entrance of the tent as she sat on the bed. Could he truly change who he was just like that? He was cold and ruthless which was the reason why he survived for so long? He glanced at Mia's gentle form while giving her a weak smile. She was too good for him, but he felt a bond with her. Should he explore further?

He listened to her words before he decided to speak. "I'm not done yet. You're pursuers are still alive and well. If I leave then they will surely harm you without my protection, although I know you can handle yourself."

He strolled over to her and situated himself on the bed next to her. "You look very beautiful." He stared into her eyes. He gradually moved towards her, going in for a kiss.
