Lore: Forgotten Enemies
"Take it just before you heal him. That way you won't feel the pain as long. It kicks in fairly quickly, so you should have just enough time to heal him before your body goes numb. After that, I reccoment you let someone carry you upstairs and sleep for a while. It will only last a few hours, so if you need more don't hesitate to ask, ok?"
Siren rummaged through her bag again and pulled out another vial.
"Try to only take half, since you're small."

Rai took it and held it in her hand. She looked at Soran, and bit her bottom lip. She wanted Soran to be with her, because he always made her feel more comfortable when painful things happened. But, he couldn't since he was hurt.
Rai leaned over and kissed his cheek again. "Good night," she told him. Then she went to Mizuki and kissed her cheek, saying good night to her parents.
She looked at it. "Does it taste bad?" she asked, wrinkling her nose at it. "Who is going to take me upstairs?" she asked.

Siren placed a comforting hand on Rai's shoulder.
"It doesnt' taste too bad, really. And I'll go with you and take you upstairs to bed, make sure you're comfortable. It'll feel a lot like your body is already asleep."
She looked over at Soran and Mizuki. "You two will be alright now? I'd say we should move Soran too, but considering he usually sleeps on the floor anyway, I suppose you'd rather we left you to do it yourself in a little bit?"

Rai hugged Siren and thanked her for helping her. She left the room a head of Siren to go to Jhaptal and kneel beside him on the floor.
Her eyes peered at him, looking over him. She opened the vile and pinched her nose closed, then drank a small sip, then another sip and another... until half of the vile was gone.
She waited a few moments and then placed her hands on his arm. She thought the word, "heal" in her head and closed her eyes.
Nothing happened at first, but then a small light came from under her hands and a red mark faded onto her arm where the wound should have been on Jhaptal.
She made a painful whimper and small cry, clutting her arm when it was over with and falling sideways. But, at least the nice Magic Man would be okay....
It wasn't a very long time, just a few moments as her eyes were growing more and more watery, that the pain began to lessen until it was gone and her body felt gone with it.

Siren came into the room just in time to catch Rai as her body began to give way.
"Woops! There you go," she said, crouching down and cradling the girl up in her arms.
"No pain anymore, right?" She looked at Rai's arm, then at the man's. Her hand went to Rai's forehead to make sure she had not inherited the fever Soran was talking about, and was satisfied with the temperature.
"Let's get you upstairs to bed, Rai. You did well." She smiled as she stood up, Rai in her arms.

Siren walked out of the room back past Soran and Mizuki, up the stairs, and to Rai's room, where she lay her down gently.
Siren knelt down by the bed, tucking Rai in so that she would stay warm.
"What you did back there was really valiant. Now you deserve some rest, ok? Nothing I can get you before you sleep?"

Rai thought for a moment. Usually Toby was here with her, but he wasn't here. He didn't come along. She guessed he had doggy things to do... like raise a doggy family... something like that. And she had lost her doll in one of the many batttles, so she didn't have that to sleep with.
She didn't have anything really.
"Don't close the door... please..." Rai said, a bit frightened still to be in the house all alone with out anyone else in the room with her.

Siren looked at the door and back at Rai, seeing some of the trepadation in her eyes.
"Tell you what, that man you healed should be doing fine now, and Mizuki's nearbye if he needs anything. How about I stay here with you, at least till you fall asleep, incase you need something?"
Siren stood up and sat on the edge of the bed watching Rai.

Siren sighed and stroked Rai's bangs out of her face. Siren had been working on potions all night since her component bag was getting dissorderly from random collections, so she was tired too.
She stayed for a little while to be sure Rai didn't wake up, then placed the rest of the unfinished vial on Rai's bedside so that if she was still in pain when she woke up she could do somethign about it.
She then headed back downstairs.

It was just a little bit now, but he could make out the sensation of Mizuki's pressure on his hand. "I'm fine," he said reflexively, and felt the thought process he'd been pondering in the woods about Mizuki recur in his mind. "..good," he amended awkwardly, "Just don't feel anything." His free hand went up and touched his shoulder probingly, investigating the strange magical bandage Siren had put on it. Unfortunately, he had no feeling in his fingers, so he couldn't feel what was what. He gave up trying and brought his seared hand back into his lap before he could accidentally tear the wound open again without realizing it. "Sorry to leave you to clean up by yourselves," he said.
