Soran caught Jhaptal as he collapsed, sensing the man was at his limit. Avoiding putting pressure on the ninja's arms, he dragged him over to one of the bedrolls and set him down onto it. He removed Jhaptal's bloodied shirt and put it aside before setting to the difficult task of cleaning and binding the man's wounds with his seared hands. He noticed the many scars criscrossing Jhaptal's body - not the kind of injuries a normal civilian would acquire. When he'd done all he could, he sat back and breathed deeply. This mission was becoming far more dangerous than he'd anticipated. The bandits would be coming out soon to track them down. Soran kept his blades ready and listened closely to their surroundings for any sign of bandits approaching.

They were already at the house and cleaning up all the dust and dirt that had accumulated within. Red was gone now. When they had left Red had met up with his lover. Red had explained that that was how he had gotten out. The gaurdsmen's son had helped him escape and they had fallen in love. Now, the boy's father was dead and he had gone to claim his inheritance from him. Red was now gone to live with his love, in their new mansion and all their wealth.
Mizuki had laughed, it amazed her. She wished him luck in life as they had parted. After that, they went to the house and found it in good condition, but not clean. It still had furnishing in it, all they had to do was clean it up.
So they were cleaning well into nightfall when Mizuki got a really bad feeling. She stopped sweeping one of the bedrooms, Blade was sleeping on the bed, and she clutched her chest. She blinked in astonishment as her heart seemed to ache and pulse painfully within her. Her first thought was she was having a heartattack, but doesn't your body go numb during one?
She fell to her knee's, her free hand clutching onto the broom's handle as she tired to work out what was happening. She tried to stay calm as the feeling of danger seemed to surround her.

Rai was walking around the living room of the house wiping dust off of some of the objects in the room. She often stopped, running to the window to look out and see if Soran was coming towards the house. It was dark, and the house was cold. She looked towards the fireplace, wondering if it was really hard to set a fire.

Soran sat against a tree trunk beside Jhaptal. He was wary, but it seemed that the bandits had begun their search in the wrong direction. This was a good sign; a fanned-out search would have brought at least one of the search groups in their direction by now. That they were hunting in one direction at a time indicated they had taken out a fair portion of their opponents already.
Jhaptal was beginning to look feverish, but a fire was out of the question under the circumstances. The rogue removed his coat and spread it over the other man, his thoughts roaming against his will to Mizuki. It had been a shock to find her with Red, but what had really angered him was the sense that he had no place expressing that shock. To admit it would mean more than just revealing a weakness. Jealousy meant possessiveness, which required commitment, which meant telling... the rogue cut off his thoughts by applying a salve to the burns on his hands, pressing it in harder than necessary in exchange for the welcome distraction of its sting.

"Hmmm..." Rai hummed as picked up sticks from around the house, close to the woods and the shore. She hummed a little soft tune as she narrowed her eyes to try and see in the darkness. She had her small arms full with little sticks, and a few medium sized ones. She carried them.
When one fell from her stack she would stop and bend over, causing all the sticks to fall from there place in her arms and tumble to the ground. She would gather them up again and soon made it into the house where she dropped them on the stone floor that bordered the fire place with the flooring of the house. She put the sticks in one at a time and sat back looking at the pile she had made.
Rai looked around and saw a nice white candle. She took it and tossed it into the fire place as if she expected it to burst into flames. However, it didn't and the flame on the candle went out. She found another candle in the room and tossed it into the fire place. By the time little Rai was finished with throwing candles into the fire place the room had gone completely dark.
She sighed and stood up, walking down the dark hall towards the rooms where Mizuki was in one. She went to the one with the light coming out from the doorway. "Mizuki," she said turning the corner. "I don't know how to..."
She paused, seeing Mizuki on the floor, kneeling, looking pale. She ran over to Mizuki, falling to her knees. "Something wrong?" she asked.
OOC: *cackles* Maybe we should make Soran feel guilty for leaving Rai and Mizuki all alone by having the bandits that Soran and Rai beat up come looking for him. lmao. And Mizuki and Rai beat them up to!

(OOC: Left arm goes numb during a heart attack actually, well at least at first I think, I can't remember exactly)
Jhaptal would not wake for quite a while. His wound fever was starting to go up slightly, the infection setting in more and more. Despite the fact that his body was in pain, the ninja remained still in his sleep, his training kicking in.

OOC: Rai so cuuuuuuuuuuute!
Soran looked at the sky. It was probably around midnight. If they were still in the area when the sun rose, chances were they'd be found easily. He couldn't fight them off and keep Jhaptal safe at the same time. The man's rising fever raised a new concern as well, that he might not last without treatment, as soon as possible. The rogue looked down at his client guiltily. He was hired to act as backup, but instead he'd been the one who was protected.
Looks like we're cutting things off early, he thought, standing up. He took hold of the edge of Jhaptal's bedroll and dragged him off amidst some bushes where he would be difficult to spot. Going back to the camp, he cleared all signs of their presence and hid the pack next to Jhaptal. It was a risk to leave him alone, but if they were going to get his sword back, it was now or never. At a quick and silent pace he made his way back to the bandits' cave. Two men now stood at guard. Soran moved silently in the darkness, coming up behind the first guard and clapping a hand over his moutn before knocking him outcold. The second guard noticed the movement, but before he could sound the alarm his throat was cut open. With the coast very briefly clear, Soran ran into the cave, this time taking the opposite of the route their hostage had taught them.
There were very few men inside, which raised doubts about whether his theory about the true route to the treasure room was correct. His doubts were stopped as he reached a large pair of doors that had been carved into the stone opening, guarded by two fierce-looking men. As the men noticed him, Soran ran forward and locked blades with the left guard, then released his position as he heard the other coming behind him. The struggle was more difficult than the others had been, but a minute later, both guards lay unconscious on the ground, blood pooling around the joints where Soran had aimed to disable them.
Finding the door locked, he went into the guard's pocket and removed a set of keys, one of which turned the latch. Opening the door to the room, he discovered it to be filled with the loot the bandits had collected on their missions. Now wary to the risk of traps, Soran searched the unguarded room carefully for the sword without entering. He finally sighted a katana lying sheathed near the far corner. Such a weapon was rare outside of Ongoreth, and in all likelihood the one Jhaptal had lost.
In a burst of energy, Soran bolted across the room and grabbed the sword, then turned and sprinted for the door. He was halfway there when he heard the telltale 'shing' of some bladed object taking flight. Aimed at the door, he realized too late, and dodged to the side just in time for the knife that would have lodged at the base of his neck to strike him above the shoulderblade instead.
Soran gasped, but didn't stop running, slamming the door behind him as he reentered the darkness of the cavern tunnels. The alarms seemed to have been raised that he was there now, and he was greeted with a small crowd of bandits. Pulling the blade stiffly out of his shoulder, Soran chucked it at the bandit at the center of the group, driving his face open. His companions stepped back in horror, making enough room for Soran to break through them and run for the exit. Without the need to be guided by torch light and aided by the fact that the men no longer particularly wanted to pursue him, he made enough ground to leave the cave and disappear soundlessly into the woods before the bandits emerged in pursuit, looking around but unable to guess which way he had run.

"I'm...fine." Mizuki stiffly replied to the child. She managed to give her a weak grin as she concentrated on pushing the pain to the back of her mind. If she didn't think about it, she'd be fine. Her thoughts swayed. 'Was this because of that vile?' she thought, 'Or is this some kind of premonition?'
Slowly, the pain receded in her chest, but it creeped down her right arm. A small throb, but she'd live. The color went back in her face.
"See? I'm fine now." she managed a better smile than before and stood up slowly, leaning on her broom.

Mizuki started giggling. "We can't see about a fire without some light." she said and helped pick up the candles and relight them. Once they were all re-lit she looked at the fireplace. It looked useable, and there was wood already within it. She grabbed a candle and checked up the chimmney. It was closed but that was easily fixed with a pull of a crank at the side of the fire place.
Once it was open, Mizuki rolled up a peice of paper and lit it on the candle. She paused to show Rai the lit paper, then threw it in. Soon the wood was lit and the fire was glowing within the dark room. Mizuki looked around and was glad to have a better light in here.
"And there's your fire. We should go gather some more wood to feed it." she said smiling.
