Tenele was admittedly only a little nervous when she floated away. It was a complex feeling. She was nervous about being in the air, and disappointed that he was gone from her. But, she trusted him, there was no doubt about that, and she had asked to be surprised....

She was excited, and a little nervous, but there was something very calming about being wrapped in the blanket as he pressed into her. "Show me," she urged him with a soft smile.

His breath came faster as he melded against her, excited by her invitation. He kissed her while his heated body slid slowly back inside of her. Her body was weightless and free, but he had complete control of his. He ground his hips against hers in slow, tantalizing thrusts. Then he began to kiss down her neck, sucking firm circles of flesh as he went.

The only thing was, he hadn't stopped kissing her lips. His mouth caressed hers in warm, soft swathes while his body moved inside her and phantom lips played at her neck, nipping and suckling.

His hands spread over her hips, guiding his movements as he thrust deeper, still agonizingly slow.

Tenele moaned, her gaze revealing her confusion. She didn't argue with the sensation, and decided not to think too much into the impossibility of it. It was a little exciting not being able to see that phantom touch, to not know where it might land next. So she let herself be lost to it, rolling her hips against him as he glided into her, each deep thrust sending electric bursts of pleasure through her.

Knight huffed softly against her lips. He was a quieter lover than either of his counterparts, but just as passionate. His muscled body shuddered with each slow, powerful thrust. Phantom fingers pulled her knees up and spread them wide with a firm grip. Knight's tongue lapped between her legs, sucking at her while he pumped in and out. More fingers grasped her rear, squeezing and spreading her while a warm, wet finger slid inside. The guardian closed his eyes and moaned while his magic tongued and caressed her a dozen places at once.

"Kni-ah!" Her eyes clenched shut, her body trembled at the multitude of sensations rippling over her. It was absolutely surreal. Was this in her mind? She wanted to know how it was pososible to feel this good. The combination of sensations were too much for her unprepared body. Each lick or probe combined with his steady deep thrusts drove her into oblivion far faster than she thought possible. She wrapped her arms around his neck, riding out the orgasm with high gasping breaths. It left her body ultra-sensitive to each touch, until she was showing her appreciation with soft cries muffled by his shoulder.

Knight drew her in tight against him and covered her lips with a deep, drowning kiss while her orgasm shook through her. He finally broke away with a low groan. The phantom mouths and fingers faded away one by one as his focus began to crumble. It was as if all the energy of those extra efforts slowly united into a single place as his body rocked against hers. "I fear I cannot take much more," he moaned in frustrated ecstasy.

"Please," she pleaded against his lips, pressing her forehead to his. Her body was too sensitive after all her encounter with Vlad, and especially after Knight's magic took its toll on her. Her body felt on fire. "Come for me."

Her request made the guardian shudder. "Yes," he whispered, making it both a response and a warning. "Yes, Tenele...Ah!" He thrust tightly inside her and came in soft jerks of overwhelming pleasure, nearly silent in his release. Her weight slowly returned her to his arms, and he held her to him like she was the only thing in the universe.

Tenele huffed against Knight, curling her fingers and arms over his flesh as he held her. She hadn't really expected any of this when she'd made the offer. It had been so long, she didn't expect to be taken up on it. It was a pleasant surprise. She wanted to please him. Maybe, somewhere inside her, it helped her cope with the horrible half-life she made him lead.

She held him tighter, enjoying the feel of his strong arms around her. It didn't matter that they were standing, tangled around one another, in the open room. She was content.

Talon scratched the back of his head while he looked at the opening he'd formed on the wall. He tossed a rock into the light, and it fizzled as it disappeared. There wasn't really a way to tell if it was safe without having someone test it. Even then, he wasn't sure how he'd know if it worked or not.

"So..." he muttered, glancing down at Sho. "Know anyone who wants to test this thing?

She was staring at the portal with open dismay. "Does this really lead to a warm place?" she asked. "Many may be willing to test....you are sure they can return?"

Knight spun gracefully, her body to his, and rested his face in the crook of her neck. "I love you," he whispered. He licked the skin of her neck with soft affection as he carried her back to the bed with him shifted down on top of her. He managed his weight lightly to avoid squishing her as he kissed her lips, cheeks, and eyes. "I cannot tell you how much."

Tenele smiled, cupping his face in her hands. "I love you," she whispered to him, pressing her forehead to his gently.

Talon frowned. "I don't know," he muttered. "I don't know if that even goes where I intend it to go. If it doesn't, if this doesn't work... I have a way to get you to the warm place. You and your mother and father, and any siblings you have. Would you go if it meant leaving everyone else behind?"

Sho paused. "Every one is my kin. We are reptilian. We are all kin," she said very slowly, as if making a point of a very simple concept to a small child.

Knight's heart tugged in his chest. "Thank you," he said softly. The bittersweet feeling threatened to overwhelm him, but he hid the shadows in his eyes well. Drawing carefully out of her, he lay on his side against Tenele and caressed his fingers along her skin. He combed his hand through her damp hair. "I seem to have cut short your bath, he mused.

Tenele smiled. "I'm not going to complain," she mused pleasantly. She shut her eyes at the calming feel of his fingers running through her hair. "It had been so long... I feared you didn't want me anymore."

Talon frowned. He was pretty sure Knight couldn't take them all that way if this didn't work out. Which meant it had to work. "I'm going to test it," he muttered to himself, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt.

At Talon's words, Sho's expression fell as if she'd just hit her. "Don't," she ordered. Her eyes were filling with angry tears. "Do not leave." She looked betrayed.

Knight smiled and shook his head. "I want you always. But I hold no claim to you. You carry a fierce sense of responsibility, Tenele," he met her eyes proudly. "I will not stand for you to see me as one of your responsibilities. I can not bear it. That is why I am careful. I could never not want you, but I am not entitled to you. Ever. Do you understand?"

Tenele blinked at his words. She understood them, but she didn't know how to respond to them. "I understand," she whispered. She couldn't deny that she didn't see him as a responsibility. His half-life existence was her doing. She controlled when he existed, when he didn't. She pressed into him, closing her eyes with a heavy sigh. "Do not be so careful with me... Three years is too long."

Talon glanced down at Sho. "I have to test it," he told her, crouching to be level with her. "It would mean risking your kin if anyone else goes in. My plan B won't carry you all to the warm place. This is the only way to get you all there."
