Re: Desert Moon
Knight grinned softly at the vampire's reaction. Talon was truly Vladimir's servant only. If it were just a matter of blood power, Knight could wield it. Vlad thought Talon only obeyed him because of his power, but every time Knight saw the uncertain dislike in the bloodling's face when they met, he suspected the younger vampire's loyalty ran further than just blood.
"Hello, Talon," he greeted in a calm midnight voice, unfazed by the man's reaction. "Your sister called on me to help with your planning." He stepped smoothly around Talon and into his room uninvited, looking around at all the research Talon had been doing. "Tell me more about these reptilians you've fallen for."

Re: Desert Moon
Talon glowered at his use of words. "They are a species that can only survive in heat. I've pieced together a patchwork of spells from books I found in Maxwell's study. It should be able to create a portal between Hajara and here. I thought that it would be cruel to leave a people so adverse to frigid temperatures in a frozen tundra to spend their days shovelling fuel into a fire." The vampire showed Knight the spell he'd concocted from his research, and the diagram he'd pieced together based off of it. It was a rudimentary drawing, but it would suffice.
"I was telling Vlad that I could possibly use the same spell to get us home, but he ran off with Tenele before he agreed to the matter. I've gathered all the materials... I was just waiting on permission."

Re: Desert Moon
Knight looked carefully at the runes. Neither Vlad nor Atul knew a great deal of magic. "Have you done such things before?" he asked skeptically.

Talon scratched his head. "Sort of... Well, not exactly like this, but I've done my share of spells before. I think of it rather like a math equation. Put the right variables in order and it should work... theoretically."

Re: Desert Moon
"Perhaps we should try it on one of your less favorite reptilians first," Knight pondered doubtfully.

Re: Desert Moon
Talon glared. "I don't have a less favorite," he admitted. He wasn't opposed to the idea, but it would be difficult to choose who could be used as a sacrifice in their experiment.
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt. I've already drawn out the symbols... Just need a volunteer," he admitted. "It will be hard to get them to volunteer. They seem to be a close-knit and... primitive group. The women seem to take the lead and the men survive off them."

Re: Desert Moon
The near-godlike being glanced around the room thoughtfully. "I have the strength to bring you and Tenele to Ighten. Hajara is more challenging, with so many, but it should be possible." His unmatched eyes lifted to meet Talon's. "It depends how long you are willing to wait for your master to wake up." He watched the bloodling curiously, wondering if he would put the reptilians in danger to protect his master.

Re: Desert Moon
Talon frowned looking at the floor. "What if it is a small group?" he asked. He wondered if he could get at least Sho and her family to this world of heat so she could live in comfort. He had yet to even meet Sho's family, but he hated to send the girl there alone. But, he also didn't want to put any strain on Vlad. Talon kicked the idea around for a bit. "Maybe it is best that I stay out of their business."

Knight nodded thoughtfully. "Then speak with the girl, and also set up your way. The spell may have risks, but if the others prefer it to being here, you'll have given them the option." He turned for the door. "How long will you need?"

Re: Desert Moon
Talon thought. "An hour, maybe a little more, but not much," he admitted. "I will try and get volunteers to go through first. If that doesn't work, I'd like to send Sho and her family to Hajara so that at least they can be happy. Sho risked her life to help us, it seems only fair that I try and make her life easier as thanks."

Re: Desert Moon
Knight nodded. "I will deliver them safely..." he agreed. He wondered how large a reptilian family was. "I'll return in an hour."

Re: Desert Moon
Talon nodded. "I'll be in the basement where the fire is," he told Knight. He gathered his drawings and a thick piece of chalk before brushing passed the God and heading down the hall.

Re: Desert Moon
Knight took another look around Talon's busy room. It showed all the signs of a man working constantly without sleep. Worried about his master and sister, no doubt. Just blood loyalty, huh? he thought with a faint grin as he left and shut the door behind him.
He knew from Vlad's thoughts and memories that the vampire had never considered Talon's obedience anything beyond just that. He'd drawn comfort from Talon when the times were a their worst, even depended on him, but Vlad hadn't considered the bloodling's gentle behavior 'real'. Interesting.
The god made his way back across the mansion to the room where Tenele's bath was drawn. If Talon needed an hour, then he could enjoy her company for a while without hesitation. He tapped at the doorframe to let her know he was coming in, since she'd never hear his silent footfall over the running water.

Re: Desert Moon
Tenele peered over her shoulder from where she sat on the edge of the tub. "Come in," she called, running her fingers through the water. "Its pretty much done. I may have gotten it too hot." She stopped the flow of water and combed her hair over one shoulder as she rose and lifted a leg. "Hot!" she exclaimed, pulling back her leg. She chalked up her courage and stepped back in. It was less scalding this time.

Re: Desert Moon
Knight sat at the edge of the tub with a placid expression, but his eyes lit up with an unexpressed smile as he watched her pick at the water until she was comfortable with it. He spotted a pile of clean washcloths on a shelf under the sink and picked one up thoughtfully. He had no presumptions about seducing her tonight. Even without the fact that she'd already spent herself happily with Atul and Vlad this evening, Knight had not actually been with her in that way since they'd conceived Tenara. Their visits had been too short or ill-timed. "I assure you I'll be a gentleman," he promised warmly, wiggling his fingers under the cloth.
