5) Job/Class: Enchantress/Sorcerer, Director in Chief of Arken’s Division of Military Sorcery.

6) Power: Reya possesses extremely powerful Enchantment magic, which combined with sorcery, can be controlled artfully enough to create her own magical ‘inventions’. She does not make up spells on the fly, but like a scientist, she puts huge amounts of time into developing a magical innovation, then puts it into action, always on commission to develop new magical weapons that might aid Shea’s army in combat. To possess this kind of innovation, she has mastered many component magics of such spells, including offensive magic, animation magic, and the ability to imbue objects with enchantment. Though defensive magic is not required for her position, she resents the waste of useful human talent, and therefore chose to take up healing magic as a personal hobby from her teenage years.

The potency and success of her magical efforts are directly contingent on her will, and the more advanced and complex the spell, the more vital it is that her thoughts are clear and that she be absolutely singleminded in her focus.

7) Appearance: Reya is beautiful by most people’s standards, with a healthy, slim figure and soft blue eyes. She wears a band of woven silver around her forehead over her long, wavy red-brown hair. She has a fair complexion with striking, but rather serious features. Though her age is not yet showing itself, she has the look of a mature woman. She wears an open light blue satin robe ornamented by patterns of silver and gold that hangs to her feet, and beneath it a modest closed robe of white cotton that falls to her ankles.

8) Weaknesses: She possesses no skills in physical combat whatsoever. A lingering memory of someone from the past is currently the one remaining obstacle preventing her from surpassing her current level of magical capability.

9) Biography: Reya was born the daughter of a powerful noble of Shea’s inner court, and raised with extremely high expectations that she become a master sorceress. She was rigorously schooled and soon advanced beyond the point where attending school with her age group could be considered useful. Her father hired the best tutors available and she was studied at home, constantly under scrupulous supervision. She was not permitted the distraction of friends or leisure activities. Reya was very delicate and emotional at this age, and could hardly bear this lifestyle, secretly harboring dreams of escape, freedom and romance even as she excelled in her compulsory studies.

When she was eighteen, something critical happened. She fell in love. But what happened after that, she refuses to discuss. She will say only that it opened her eyes to the reality her father had pushed her to for years. Determined not to become weak like her mother, she embraced the fate her father wanted for her. She abruptly grew out of her childish whims and ambitions and instead came to value only efficiency and results. Magical development became her only passion. She rose through the ranks of Arken’s Division of Military Sorcery, ultimately challenged the presiding Master Sorcerer, succeeded, and replaced him and Director in Chief of arcane military affairs. There, she began to make use of her magical prowess to develop new weapons for Shea’s army.

During the course of her reign, she has taken on various servants, among them a powerful and rather stoic ninja named Jhaptal and a fierce young magician named Tresha. Her demeanor toward them is almost motherly, but also stern and rational.

Her most recent project, the development of a living weapon with its own actual will, capable of recycling energy from the heavens and converting it to offensive electrical energy in an infinite cycle, went astray. The spell was so large that it required an entire chamber of master sorcerers to construct. However, a flaw in her concentration, the nature of which she will not discuss, disrupted the spell at the critical moment, and the entity that was created possessed unfortunate functional defects. To make matters worse, the creature escaped the compound and is still at large.

She now has two primary objectives. She must retrieve the experiment that broke loose in order to recycle the energy invested into it and repeat the experiment. Before that can happen, however, she needs to conquer the last lingering weakness that disrupted her concentration. She knows exactly how that must be done – to repair a huge lapse in judgment she made long ago - , and the time has come for her to stop putting it off.

10) Personality: Reya believes in the importance of efficiency and productivity. She hates seeing useful things go to waste, and is always thinking, often too much, about how to improve upon her work. This is largely a result of the workaholic lifestyle that was ingrained into her from childhood. She shows emotions and displays kindness, but these often seem half-hearted. She believes she has no use for such things, and thinks that any emotional behavior she demonstrates is done as mere tactic for the sake of producing more efficient cooperation between herself and those around her. She genuinely loves innovation, and believes that the one thing that can bring her real joy is the success of creation. She could care less how it is used or what threats her creations may pose to the health of the world, and despite her high rank in the military, is loyal to Shea out of appreciation for the funding that makes her research possible rather than an ideological patriotism.

11) Extras: She doesn’t like sleeping in a room alone. She usually asks one of her servants to rest in a separate bed in the room with her. She insists this is simply for security purposes due to her high rank, but deep down, she actually just wants company. One would never guess this from her attitude, however, which is stern and pragmatic even at times like this.
