Lore: A Final Test

Taki:

Kaede Mistrel stood at a small cauldron with a fire lit under it and a potion brewing inside. In her left hand she held her magic staff over the caudron and her left hand held up the rat she was torturing. The sorceress smirked as the potion bubbled and gargled, causing the rat to shriek as it was lowered closer and closer until it was just a hair away from sure death. She looked to the spellbook opened on a podium next to her and read over the ingredients of the acid-potion one last time and then turned to the rat.

"Say goodbye, and welcome death." She said evilly and dipped the rat up to it's neck, holding it by its rubbery tail. She recited the spell from memory. "Emras Dantes Skileta Subjeto." She waited a moment as dark winds swirled around her and the cauldron and the potion steamed. She pulled out the still shrieking rat and nodded in approval. Everything was gone that was once it's head-all except the live skeleton. She threw the rest of the rat into the cauldron and fished it out after waiting for the cauldron to steam. She grinned down at her new pet. A knock sounded at her door and she went to answer it, it was one of the Queen's messengers.

"Her Highness would like a word with you, sorceress." He said before bowing his head and leaving quickly. She slumped her shoulders, sad that she didn't have time to play with her new toy yet but walked towards the Queen's throneroom anyway. She knocked before entering the large room, still holding the skeletal rat in hand.

"You summoned me, your Highness?" She inquired, a curious expression playing on her face.


Emora:

Shea looked at the sorceress blankly for a moment and then a cruel smile formed on her lips. "Yes, lets state the odvious..." she said coldly.

Shea raised from her throne and looked down at Kaede. "I understand you have a final test?" she asked, turning away and walking towards the open window where the stars shown brightly. "Are you ready?"

Taki:

"Yes, your Highness. I am ready. My training is complete. I have one last test to prove my loyalty to you." Kaede nodded, getting down on one knee and bowing her head almost to her knee. The rat skeleton was shrieking less than when it was being tortured, but still making loud noises none the less. "What test have I instore, Greatness? Do I have to murder one of Queen Sinead's people? Place a death curse on one of the towns in Ighten? Raise hell in Ighten itself? I'm prepared to do whatever you ask, my Queen." Kaede was a different, humble person when she was in Shea's presence. She respected her greatly.

Emora:

Shea smiled as she listened to the hints that the young sorceress gave her. She thought for a moment and paced back and forth. She stopped shortly and waved her hand in the air. A portal appeared made of a black pool of liquid. "Father Darkness I ask of you, tell me one who is good and true. Tell me of one who has a happy life. Tell me of one who is in love and leaving strife."

"Daughter of Darkness I hear your plea and I send you what you ask of me... A man of strength, and hidden power. Airen of Hepian's lonely dower."

A picture of a young man with a mask over his face appeared in the portal and the voice was gone. "Look," Shea said and pointed to the Portal View. "He must die. One with such kindness does not disserve life. Kill him and your tests will be complete."

Taki:

Kaede leaned over the pool and peered at the man she was ordered to kill. She had a hard look on her face and she clenched the rat skeleton in her hand, causing it to shriek again. She nodded to the Queen.

"Anything else, your Highness?" She inquired

Emora:

Shea laughed and spun in a circle like a teenager. "Nope," she said as she faced Kaede. "That’s it. Kill him in whatever creative fashion you desire. I know a very good sorcerer who goes from emotionally, to mental, to physically. It's quite amusing!"

Her hair cascaded down her shoulders as she leaned forward slightly. "Don't wait to long! After all, Father Darkness took time out of his busy schedule to give you such a man to go after."

Taki:

Kaede grinned and nodded, turning on her heel and walking out of the room. She turned and thought for a moment before tossing the rat skeleton to the Queen.

"Oh, here your Highness. A present, a new minion." She grinned and turned and walked out of the throneroom, heading back towards her chambers. When she returned she flopped onto her bed, her lips curling into a sadistic grin. "Better watch out Airen.. Kaede comes." The sorceress drifted into sleep, planning to leave in the morning.

Emora:

Shea appeared in Kaede's room in the middle of the night. "Wake child!" she said, picking with her about the fact she was stuck in a child’s body... While Shea had countless men wanting her womanly body. "Do forgive my since of humor! But, I am after all evil..."

She smiled. "It seems my father was misled and Airen is... not as pure as he thought. He just was exiled from Ighten by the Queen herself for not bowing to her! Really... Sinead it seems is slowly being corrupted. Though, she claims it was because he has an "evil" side. I think its arrogance. But, no matter! I believe he will come to me... I feel it..."

She waved her hand. "There is a man in Ongoreth. He is half angel... and half demon. The demon side of him is kept locked away by the fact he uses little emotion. He is powerful if that demon side is let loose. He is coming here... to Arken to find a necromancer for a vampire who wishes to have her soul back and her life... What I want you to do is to convince him to join me... and the woman as well. Her dream power could be useful. It makes no difference to me if you give her soul to her again and her life... But, her Dream Mastery will be useful."

Taki:

Kaede sat up, unwilling at first from the remark Shea made about her being in her child body rather than her grown woman body. The sorceress grumbled quietly and listened to her Queen, giving her different orders.

"As you wish, your Evilness." Kaede smirked at her own reply as she stretched and yawned. "Ongoreth, eh? Do you know their names?" She inquired, scratching at her head and muttering a spell to tidy her hair.

Emora:

Shea smiled and looked at the sorceress... "Of course... The man is known as Kensei... and the woman is Cassandra... there may be another traveling with them. They will arrive soon in Arken... I suggest you do not leave to go there... Unless you wish to meet them in the sky and escort them here...."

Taki:

Kaede pondered in thought and looked to her large wand that also served as a 'broom stick' so to speak. While escorting them would make convincing them to join the 'dark side' much easier, bed was all the more appealing at the moment.

"How close are they? A hour? A day?" She asked, waking up more and more by the minute.

Emora:

Shea looked at her. "Oh about a day or so..." she said and smiled. "It won't take long... there flying."

Taki:

Kaede nodded to herself in thought and hmmed.

"Well then, I suppose I could escort them. When would you like me to leave?" She stetched one last time before falling back against the pillows of her sinfully comfortable bed.

Emora:

Shea smiled and shrugged her elegant shoulders. "It doesn't matter to me, as long as you do your job and past my test. Leave when you wish. Either escort them here or wait until they arrive. The should arrive in Darkwood, since its closer to Ongoreth. Well, I have other things to do and people to torture... Ta-ta!"
